Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2642: Chapter 1906: Brady’s Anxiety (Part 2)

After the butler left, Brady felt increasingly unsettled, so he decided to contact the Zhenbei Group headquarters’ administration department, asking them to find Bai Xiaosheng’s number and send it to him.

Since Bai Xiaosheng was with Awak Wak Lakla, Brady thought, at the very least, he could get some information from him, perhaps even speak directly with Awak Wak Lakla.

Brady felt optimistic, but when he made the call, a message came through saying that the phone had been turned off.

Brady was instantly shocked and frustrated, feeling inexplicable anger.

”Mr. Brady, perhaps they are really busy over there, otherwise why would Bai Xiaosheng have turned off his phone? After all, his status is not low, and he has many matters to attend to.”

His confidant, seeing Brady’s dissatisfaction, tried to comfort him.

Brady squinted his eyes slightly and murmured in a deep voice, ”They are busy? Busy with what?! Hogson, Anlos affairs? Are their matters so important that even my personal arrival can’t pry them away!”

This doesn’t make sense at all!

”Furthermore, do you really think Bai Xiaosheng has only one number? I think he turned off this number on purpose!”

Brady said this in frustration.

However, he really felt something was amiss.

Seeing this, his confidant refrained from persuading further.

Brady remained silent for a while, then said in a deep voice, ”Alright, let’s go. I don’t think we’ll meet them today!”

Empty-handed and fruitless return.

This was not Brady’s style.

However, his confidant dared not say more and hurried to find the butler from before.

Upon learning of an urgent matter needing Brady’s attention back home, the butler did not insist on retention, only expressing regret.

With that, Brady left with his confidant, disheartened.

When the butler passed the news to Chen Feiqiu, Chen Feiqiu was just returning to the ship with Bai Xiaosheng and the others after a diving experience.

”Is that so? Alright, I understand.”

After hanging up, Chen Feiqiu conveyed the situation to Bai Xiaosheng.

”Have they left? It’s probably time we return as well, after all, we’ve been out the whole day.” Bai Xiaosheng suggested.

Chen Feiqiu agreed with this suggestion, as he had classes to attend upon returning.

He even found some interest in those political and economic courses now.

To make a long story short, they docked the boat and took a flight back to the palace.

Upon returning, they bid farewell and got busy with their own matters.

Chen Feiqiu had classes, while Bai Xiaosheng had plenty more to manage, given the immense web of forces he was involved with.

Not only was Bai Xiaosheng busy after returning, but throughout the following week, he declined Chen Feiqiu’s invitations to leisure activities, saying he needed to do some preliminary work.

Chen Feiqiu naturally understood that Bai Xiaosheng had far more responsibilities than he did and stopped disturbing him.

During that week, Bai Xiaosheng, along with Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, functioned like a central business brain, operating at high speed.

The matters needing Bai Xiaosheng’s attention were numerous—

Bai Xiaosheng had to maintain contact with people like Xiahou Qi, Li Haofeng, and Zheng Honghu to arrange the Zhenbei Group’s business in the Greater China Region, not just Oshan; they had collaborations in Naliya, Xisuli, Lekram, the Aisha Emirate, Karan Chieftaincy, all of which needed coordination.

Additionally, Bai Xiaosheng himself also had over a dozen large enterprises requiring his attention, with a primary focus on Oshan.

Furthermore, Bai Xiaosheng was assisting Lu Yun, Jia Chengshan, and their half business alliance, helping various Huaxia enterprises not involved in the business alliance with suitable deals in this region.

Moreover, Bai Xiaosheng had to consider the affairs of the North American Wei Family, the Bai Family, the South American Qin Family, the European Luo Family, and even the West African Yang Family was not excluded.

Lin Weiwei once calculated, and at least thousands of billion-dollar-level enterprises, hundreds of several-billion-dollar enterprises, and dozens of trillion-dollar enterprises were involved with them.

And this was when Lin Weiwei still had time to calculate; as things got busier later on, she had no time to record.

It could be said that businesses from all major continents and countries in the world were interconnected!

What Bai Xiaosheng and his team were doing was causing a global commercial linkage!

During this period, Chief Ogade and Lady Daliya have not allowed anyone to disturb Bai Xiaosheng, giving him as much time as possible to do his own work.

And this week, Mr. Brady has contacted us twice, expressing his desire to discuss business cooperation with Oshan.

According to Chen Feiqiu, Brady was previously the most difficult person to communicate with, even more so than Hogson and Anlos. This time, however, he’s repeatedly requested a meeting.

This matter carries a certain irony, unseen but felt.

Bai Xiaosheng did not refuse to meet, but merely said that he’s too busy to accompany Chen Feiqiu to the meeting.

Chen Feiqiu scoffed at this remark, saying that if Bai Xiaosheng doesn’t want to meet, then he won’t either.

The direct result was that Brady’s two requests for meetings were completely brushed off.

Another Monday, the start of a new week.

That day was sunny, but Brady’s heart was shrouded in gloom, and he even cursed in his office.

Then, Brady dismissed everyone, took out his phone, looked at a number for two full minutes, and then dialed it.

”Brady, it’s Bai Xuanyu.”

On the other end of the phone came the gentle and magnetic voice of Bai Xuanyu, the acting chairman of Zhenbei Group.

Before speaking, Brady was agitated and hesitant, seeming a bit speechless.

”What’s the matter? You want to say something, but it’s so difficult. This isn’t like you.”

Even Bai Xuanyu on the other end was somewhat surprised.

”It’s the situation on my side that’s a bit troublesome.” Brady took a long, dull breath and finally spoke up. ”As you know, I have focused the company’s development heavily on West Africa, where Oshan plays a major strategic role. Hogson and Anlos have been eyeing this place for a long time. I’ve been playing mind games with them for years, finally achieving a balanced state among all parties. To better access the Oshan business circle, I’ve even resorted to secretly using tactics to check and balance the development of the Oshan business. This was done very discreetly, consuming both mental and financial resources. Chief Ogade and Lady Daliya are not ordinary figures, they’re hard to deceive, as you know.”

”I know.” Bai Xuanyu said curiously, ”Didn’t you say earlier that everything was going smoothly, and that results would be seen within half a year?”

”But now things aren’t going smoothly!” Brady’s voice was slightly hoarse.

”Now, out of nowhere, Bai Xiaosheng has stepped in! He’s become Oshan’s special business advisor!”

”He’s negotiating with the son of the Supreme Chieftain, Awak Wak Lakla!”

This news slightly surprised Bai Xuanyu, as he truly wasn’t aware of it.

After all, he’s been busy with many matters. The most recent issue regarding Bai Xiaosheng was whether the group should support him during the investigation.

For the group’s benefit, Bai Xuanyu chose to abandon Bai Xiaosheng.

Afterwards, when Bai Xiaosheng was cleared of charges, Bai Xuanyu didn’t follow up any further.

”I didn’t expect Bai Xiaosheng to become Oshan’s special business advisor.” Bai Xuanyu said with surprise, but then naturally, ”He should be helping you. After all, you’re in charge of the group’s industry.”

Hearing this, Brady couldn’t help but feel a mix of anger and frustration. ”The truth is, I’ve tried multiple times to negotiate with Oshan, but have inexplicably been brushed off, without even meeting anyone! Previously, Oshan was eager to negotiate with me! Since that Bai Xiaosheng arrived, the situation has changed! I think he’s causing trouble for us!”

”Is there such a thing?!”

Bai Xuanyu’s voice turned stern.

In his view, Bai Xiaosheng, as a member of the Bai Family, should be unconditionally devoted to the group, including distancing himself from the group in unfavorable situations and providing convenience for the group’s industry when opportunities arise.

”I can’t even reach him by phone. Do you think there’s something wrong with that?”

Brady had already started venting, despite not wanting to discuss these things with Bai Xuanyu.

”Even if you say he’s busy, it’s already been a week, and he’s always too busy?”

”Even if you say he’s unaware of our plans to expand into Oshan, I’ve visited in person.”

”Look, whether it’s Hogson or Anlos, they’ve already been setting up new factories and opening new companies in Oshan day and night, whereas I haven’t even had a chance to negotiate!”

Brady said fiercely, ”That Bai Xiaosheng is blocking our entry!”

Brady’s angry voice made Bai Xuanyu’s breathing also become somewhat gloomy.

”Brady, don’t worry. I’ll look into this matter!”

Bai Xuanyu said in a deep voice, ”If Bai Xiaosheng really dares to ignore our group’s interests, I won’t let him off!”
