Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2604: Chapter 1890: The Power of Public Opinion (Part 2)

Mr. Brown received the news at noon, by then the media storm had intensified and was spiraling out of control.

Mr. Brown felt extremely shocked by Bai Xiaosheng’s predicament and promptly contacted Dong Tianlu and the others.

Upon learning the whole story, Mr. Brown immediately arranged for the media under his group to join the storm and help Bai Xiaosheng retaliate through public opinion.

However, just after the first round of articles and comments were published, Mr. Brown received a message from the headquarters.

The Zhenbei Group’s senior management issued an ultimatum, prohibiting Mr. Brown’s involvement in the storm, to avoid causing any damage to the group’s industries. If Mr. Brown did not comply with the orders, he would be suspended from his position.

This order, including Vice Chairman Morgan among others, was issued collectively by several vice chairmen and was personally signed by the acting chairman.

Mr. Brown was also extremely surprised when he received it.

Now, even if he wanted to help, he was powerless.

Helplessly, Mr. Brown instructed his media companies to pause their support and passed the message to Dong Tianlu.

”This time, I can’t help Mr. Bai Xiaosheng either,” Mr. Brown said on the phone, his voice rarely tinged with helplessness.

The highest-level group order could not be defied.

”It’s alright, Mr. Brown, it was your group’s decision, not yours for not helping. I believe Mr. Bai Xiaosheng will understand you,” Dong Tianlu consoled.

However, Dong Tianlu felt a chill in his heart, along with some helplessness.

The Huaxia Business Group had exhausted all usable connections, but none could provide substantial effective support.

Hou Yuncheng’s side was delayed by the Oshan higher-ups, and it seemed unlikely to have results in the short term.

Just when the Zhenbei Group was lending a hand, it was unexpected that their senior management chose to preserve themselves and abandoned Bai Xiaosheng.

Right now, it’s like everyone is watching Bai Xiaosheng sink into the quagmire, bit by bit, without any ability to help.

Such a situation truly made Dong Tianlu feel despairing.

Mr. Brown was similarly low in spirits on the phone.

In fact, at the Zhenbei Group headquarters, there was also an uproar today because of the matter concerning Bai Xiaosheng.

The senior management at Zhenbei Group headquarters was divided into two factions over this matter.

One faction, led by Vice Chairmen Lu Cheng’an and Li Yunyuan and the Compliance Department head Wen Yan, also included Jiang Kuo, the President of the Asia Division, and Soruns, the President of the Europe Division; they advocated for the group to intervene and help Bai Xiaosheng.

Meanwhile, the other faction comprised Vice Chairman Morgan, three other vice chairmen, Caroline from the North America Division, and the Presidents of the South America and Australia Divisions; they advocated for temporarily disassociating from Bai Xiaosheng, to avoid any losses to the group due to his personal actions, and based on the findings from Oshan, to take prompt action against Bai Xiaosheng.

The debate between the two factions went on from morning until noon, only reaching a conclusion when the acting chairman Bai Xuanyu intervened.

Bai Xuanyu, considering the group’s interests, sided with Vice Chairman Morgan’s faction.

With his involvement, the group’s situation was immediately clear, and a resolution was passed to strictly forbid any group entity or individual from extending a helping hand to Bai Xiaosheng, completely cutting off the group’s support for him.

At the moment the resolution was set, Wen Yan, Lu Cheng’an, and Li Yunyuan had difficulty controlling their emotions, but there was nothing they could do.

After the discussion meeting ended, Vice Chairman Morgan and others left the conference room with smiles, repeatedly praising the acting chairman’s wisdom and prowess.

When Mr. Brown called Dong Tianlu, Vice Chairman Morgan was conversing with Caroline in his office.

With the door closed, the two spoke freely about the matter.

After all, they had discussed it countless times before.

”The progress of this matter so far is thanks to your arrangements and your exceptional subordinate!”

With no outsiders present, Vice Chairman Morgan couldn’t help but praise Caroline’s planning.

”You’re too kind, Vice Chairman Morgan!”

Caroline smiled warmly, feeling immensely proud and satisfied.

”How should I put it, this matter really is about timing, location, and harmony! It’s fate’s design to ruin that Bai Xiaosheng, no one else is to blame!” Caroline laughed.

Although Lisa was there fanning the flames secretly, it was mostly due to Bai Xiaosheng’s decisions that either offended various interest parties or misjudged some people. To Caroline, he was simply walking toward his own doom step by step!

Vice Chairman Morgan smiled and nodded, his eyes gleaming with sharpness, ”All along, that Bai Xiaosheng has been a thorn not only to you but to me as well, and now there’s finally a chance to remove him! It’s truly a satisfying affair! This time, he hasn’t just offended a person or a party, but an entire nation! Everyone from the business world to the public is expressing their anger towards him; under such circumstances, I really don’t see how he can turn the tables!”

Not to mention Bai Xiaosheng being isolated and helpless, without any aid or resources on that side.

”Even their business group’s senior management has been delayed by the Oshan higher-ups. This time, that Bai Xiaosheng is doomed; no one can save him!” Caroline laughed, ”Any business force wanting to help him will also give up due to concerns about the public opinion and the interests of the Oshan business and political regions!”

Vice Chairman Morgan nodded with a smile, walked to the liquor cabinet to select the most expensive bottle, and lifted two crystal glasses in a gesture to Caroline, ”Let’s pre-celebrate the downfall of that annoying Bai Xiaosheng!”

Caroline nodded with a smile, ”I think it’s better to wish him straight to hell!”

Vice Chairman Morgan poured the wine with laughter.

The two were celebrating in advance.

By evening, the media storm at Oshan had reached its peak, with business people everywhere condemning Bai Xiaosheng, and even those on the streets discussing and cursing.

This situation naturally delighted Mr. Mira and Mr. Wagg.

The two held back their excitement throughout the night, and by the next morning, without receiving pressure from above or any calls from high-ranking individuals supporting Bai Xiaosheng, they were completely at ease.

In their view, the situation had reached a conclusion by now—Bai Xiaosheng had become completely isolated! He’s finished!

Without even having breakfast, Mr. Mira and Mr. Wagg went enthusiastically to Bai Xiaosheng’s residence.

From the previous morning until this morning, they had continually been informed of the situation’s progress to Bai Xiaosheng, while allowing him to contact the Huaxia Business Group, ensuring his communication remained open.

This was done to make Bai Xiaosheng fully aware of the worsening situation and cause his psyche to completely collapse.

Early in the morning, Mr. Mira and Mr. Wagg wanted to witness Bai Xiaosheng’s state of mind at the moment.

They intended to talk to him about how to resolve the current situation.

The two were full of confidence, believing Bai Xiaosheng would collapse and agree to all their demands.

But when they finally saw Bai Xiaosheng, both were slightly surprised.

There was no sign of collapse in Bai Xiaosheng; he seemed to be in good spirits.

”Gentlemen, you’re here.” Bai Xiaosheng even actively greeted them.

”Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, your attitude is truly commendable,” Mr. Mira couldn’t help but sarcastically remark.

”Mr. Bai, have you thought about how to amicably resolve this matter with us?” Wagg also smiled.

Confronted with their demeanor, Bai Xiaosheng shook his head, ”I’m a person who is stubborn and won’t admit defeat easily. You’ve dealt with me this way, and I won’t end it unless I retaliate in kind!”

His eyes were like a wolf’s when Bai Xiaosheng said this.

Indeed, he was very angry!

He hadn’t slept all night, pondering strategies for retaliation!

Since the other side insisted on brewing a storm, then he intended to stir up a great upheaval!

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng’s expression, Mr. Mira and Mr. Wagg suddenly felt an inexplicable chill.

Just as they were about to ask Bai Xiaosheng how he intended to proceed, an urgent knock on the door was heard.

Afterward, a subordinate peeked in, urgently saying, ”Mr. Mira, Mr. Wagg, someone wants to see you!”

”What’s wrong with you, can’t you see we’re busy?” Mr. Mira frowned and scolded.

Immediately, realizing it must be an important person for his subordinate to act so rashly, he added, ”Who is it, are they very important?”

Wagg also looked towards the subordinate.

The subordinate’s eyes concealed a hint of fear, and with a firm tone, he said, ”That person... you both must meet!”
