Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2644: Chapter 1907: No Problem! (2)

Bai Xiaosheng’s move could be described as a little mischievous.

However, it made Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying quite pleased to hear it.

Lei Ying couldn’t help but ask, ”So how long do you think we should keep stringing Brady along?”

Some matters require an estimated timeline to better prepare.

”I reckon it should be soon,” Bai Xiaosheng took a small sip of warm tea and said, ”I think an opportunity will present itself in a day or two.”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged a glance and nodded slightly.

They always trusted Bai Xiaosheng’s judgment.

In fact, Bai Xiaosheng’s judgment had never been significantly wrong.

After drinking the tea, Bai Xiaosheng stood up, stretched his waist, and walked to the parapet of the terrace, facing the morning sun and overlooking the magnificent scenery.

Just then, the phone Bai Xiaosheng placed on the dining table rang.

Lin Weiwei picked it up and handed it over to Bai Xiaosheng.

Lin Weiwei inadvertently saw that it was a call from Wen Yan.

Receiving the phone, Bai Xiaosheng answered with a smile, ”Mr. Wen Yan, what made you think of calling me so early?”

Wen Yan, or Bai Xuan Yan, was the second child adopted by Bai Zhenbei, Bai Xiaosheng’s second uncle, just like Bai Xuanyu.

Compared to Bai Xuanyu, Bai Xiaosheng preferred him, finding him more personable.

He still called him ”Wen Yan” as per his old habit.

”Sheng, did you become a special business consultant in Oshan?” Wen Yan cut straight to the point without much small talk.

”Has the headquarters already found out? Yes, that’s the case,” Bai Xiaosheng admitted straightforwardly.

Wen Yan said, ”Here at headquarters, all the heads of the major regions and vice-chairmen should know. Even if Brady doesn’t want it widely known, you know, some things one person knows, everyone knows. Concerning you and Brady, you know best what it’s about. I trust you have your arrangements, I won’t interfere, but...”

Wen Yan paused slightly and said seriously, ”Bai Xuanyu seems very dissatisfied with your attitude, he took your other number from me just now, he might call you soon. You know, I couldn’t refuse him. He will probably speak harshly about this matter, be prepared.”

Wen Yan directly informed Bai Xiaosheng of his purpose for calling.

Regarding Bai Xuanyu, his stance aligned with Bai Xiaosheng’s, even if not opposing outright, they would never come together, as both sides were inherently rejecting each other.

”Got it, thank you for calling to inform me,” Bai Xiaosheng expressed his gratitude.

Not even five minutes after hanging up with Wen Yan, another call came in.

An unfamiliar number.

Bai Xiaosheng answered, immediately introducing himself, ”This is Bai Xiaosheng, who’s calling?”

”Bai Xiaosheng, it’s Bai Xuanyu!” the caller declared frankly, their tone carrying a hint of chill.

Wen Yan had just warned him, and now Bai Xuanyu was calling.

Facing the morning sun, Bai Xiaosheng smiled slightly, as if facing Bai Xuanyu directly, ”Oh, it’s the acting chairman, why are you calling me so early, do you have any instructions for me?”

No matter Bai Xuanyu’s tone or attitude, Bai Xiaosheng had his rhythm.

On the other end of the call, Bai Xuanyu’s voice carried no playful tone with Bai Xiaosheng, still a little cold, ”Bai Xiaosheng, are you serving as a special business consultant in Oshan, assisting the Supreme Chieftain’s son in business negotiations? I ask you, who granted you the authority to abandon your primary duties and engage in those matters?”

Bai Xuanyu scolded, fully accusatory.

Bai Xiaosheng, certainly no pushover, frowned slightly and responded with a faint smile, ”So it’s about that matter.”

”Made you unhappy, Acting Chairman? Well, I understand, I’ll tell Chief Ogade right now that I don’t want this honorary title anymore, and I’ll return to Huaxia immediately.”

Bai Xuanyu paused, taken aback by Bai Xiaosheng’s firm response.

No explanations, just ready to leave.

Even Bai Xuanyu’s momentum faltered.

”If you’re still not satisfied, Acting Chairman, I can submit a written apology to the group, what do you think?”

The way Bai Xiaosheng repeatedly addressed him as ”you” made it feel somewhat awkward.

”This matter is as it is, you can’t leave it halfway, otherwise, how would Oshan perceive us at Zhenbei Group?”

Bai Xuanyu had to find a way to lower his stance.

He naturally couldn’t allow Bai Xiaosheng to neglect Brady and just return home.

”Since you’ve spoken, Acting Chairman, I’ll note it down, and in the future, if anyone at headquarters accuses me of dereliction of duty or not doing my proper job, I’ll use your words to shut them up,” Bai Xiaosheng chuckled.

On the other end, Bai Xuanyu felt a bit frustrated.

In terms of thinking and eloquence, he felt superior to Bai Xiaosheng, but in the realm of slickness, he couldn’t match him.

Bai Xuanyu adjusted his breath and tone, saying, ”Since you are now Oshan’s special business consultant and helping the Supreme Chieftain’s son, Awak Walaklara, with business negotiations, tell me, why have Hogson and Anlos achieved their goals in Oshan, while Brady is lagging behind, ignored?”

This was the crux of their conversation.

Bai Xuanyu, feeling he couldn’t match Bai Xiaosheng’s slick words, decided to get straight to the heart of the matter.

”That’s Chief Ogade’s arrangement.”

Bai Xiaosheng passed the buck deftly, suggesting, ”How about you ask Chief Ogade why we’re placed last, I’m curious too.”

On the other end, Bai Xuanyu was grinding his teeth in frustration.

Sometimes, you know, the other side will shrug off responsibility, and you have no way to verify or refute, that’s the most frustrating part.

”Bai Xiaosheng, if you truly have the ability to make your voice heard in Oshan, you should mediate and help our group enterprises gain their deserved interests unconditionally!” Bai Xuanyu’s voice was heavy, ”You are my grandfather Bai Zhenbei’s blood relative, your only duty from the moment you joined the group is to contribute everything for the group’s benefit without seeking reward!”

”The same goes for me!”

”So, I don’t care what method you use, ensure that Brady’s matters are swiftly put on track!”

”Do you understand!”

Bai Xuanyu’s tone left no room for argument.

”I naturally have to obey the acting chairman’s orders,” Bai Xiaosheng said calmly, ”However, I estimate that helping Brady participate would exhaust all my connections in Oshan.”

”In reality, how much influence could I truly have here?”

”But by doing so, later on, I might not be able to assist, and I wouldn’t have any say in Oshan’s future arrangements. By then, if anyone complains from headquarters, I’ll have to use your name to pacify them. Do you think that’s feasible?”

Bai Xuanyu was about to speak, but Bai Xiaosheng continued, ”It’s not that I don’t want to give my all for the group’s interest, to bow and toil; I’m concerned that asking too much might cause Oshan to resent us, making Brady’s situation worse, which would make me the group’s scapegoat.”

Bai Xiaosheng wasn’t keen on Bai Xuanyu’s statements about sacrificing everything for Zhenbei Group.

The remarks carried a subtle sarcastic undertone.

Bai Xuanyu likely noticed, but couldn’t argue, as he made the call directly, while Bai Xiaosheng had already prepared his responses.

Being prepared versus unprepared, the outcome was clear, victory was decided.

Bai Xuanyu wasn’t an ordinary person, he calmed down, and his voice restored to composure.

”Alright, Bai Xiaosheng, just do what you should for the group! As for the rest, I won’t expect!”

The sunlight spread across his face, and Bai Xiaosheng smiled, facing the sun, uttering two words, ”Alright!”

No problem!
