This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Although he knew that the work of the Criminal Police Team was quite tiring and its officers worked hard, this suggestion was clearly excessive.

However, Wu Shengnan immediately provided an explanation, ”You may not be familiar with our work. When we are busy, we work day and night and have no time to go to the Hospital. When we finally get some rest, everyone rushes to sleep in or deal with their household chores, leaving no time for the Hospital. When we feel unwell, we just go to a nearby clinic or pharmacy to get some medicine. We’ve been making do with this situation. Now everyone has health issues, but we’re all just toughing it out.”

Wu Shengnan looked at Du Heng very seriously, ”You cured my grandfather’s chronic illness of more than twenty years, so your medical skills are definitely not a problem. Therefore, I want to ask you to come to our workplace to check on my colleagues, and treat them if you can.”

Du Heng didn’t quite believe what Wu Shengnan said. ”Your leaders can’t be so heartless, can they? If a colleague gets sick, they don’t care, and they still let them continue to work? Moreover, your workplace should have regular medical checkups, so any major issues would have been discovered and they would have been hospitalized for treatment. If they are still working now, it means there are no major problems.”

Du Heng paused slightly. ”Besides, who would approve me to visit your workplace to treat illnesses? Let’s not even discuss whether I can visit your workplace to treat them, but even if I could, would your leaders agree? Can you make the decision?”

Du Heng’s tone became less friendly.

This woman must be crazy, he thought. Even if you have a powerful background, do you think you can rule the roost in the Criminal Police Team and do whatever you want?

Seeing patients at the Criminal Police Team? What a ridiculous idea!!!

Hearing Du Heng’s clear refusal, Wu Shengnan became anxious. ”You are right. We do have regular checkups, and we do go to the Hospital for major illnesses. But more often, it’s minor ailments. However, these minor ailments accumulate over the years and gradually turn into major illnesses that are difficult to cure completely. For example, irregular eating habits have led to gastritis and gastric ulcers in many of our colleagues. Furthermore, constantly staying up late and not getting enough rest have caused neurasthenia in many of us. Your medical skills, as demonstrated on my grandfather, are almost perfect, which is why I had this idea. Besides, our leaders have approved of this request.”

Du Heng didn’t want to engage with Wu Shengnan any longer. Going to the Criminal Police Team to treat illnesses sounded absurd.

If Wu Shengnan was lying and he actually went there to treat illnesses, he could be charged with practicing medicine illegally. No one would even need to call the police; he’d be delivering himself right to their doorstep. It would be a simple and neat process for them.

”We can only provide treatment outside our registered location in emergencies,” Du Heng stated. ”For all other situations, we must have approval from our superior unit as well as the consent of the individuals involved. If you genuinely want me to come, then have your workplace send an official letter to my superior unit. If I am then assigned by my superior unit, I will be very happy to assist you.”

Du Heng raised this issue, thinking Wu Shengnan would back off. To his surprise, however, she readily promised, ”Okay, no problem. I’ll have our detachment leader send you a letter.”

However, Du Heng sneered at such a response.

The Criminal Police Team... It’s at least a district-level unit, not to mention a powerful department. How could they possibly send an official letter to some obscure Health Clinic in the middle of nowhere?

What a joke!!!

This is Jinzhou! A provincial capital! A city teeming with Class A hospitals!

Only someone with a sick mind would do that!!!
