This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng’s words made the expressions of the uncle and aunt change again.

At least Wang Shuqiu still had some politeness, but when it came to Du Heng, there was no room for politeness at all; he even threatened to call the police directly.

The uncle and aunt were trembling with anger, wanting to point at Du Heng, but seeing his icy gaze, they ultimately didn’t dare to point at him.

However, they immediately turned to Wang Shuqiu. ”Look at him! This is how he treats your uncle, even threatening to call the police! Is there no respect for elders anymore? With someone like this, I won’t let your Mother agree to your marriage.”

With Du Heng by her side, Wang Shuqiu was also quite resolute. ”I don’t care. If my Mother agrees, everyone will be happy. If she doesn’t, we’ll still get married anyway. Also, I don’t consider you my elders, and I told my Mother that if she gives you money again, we’ll cut ties. I want to see if my Mother wants me, her daughter, or you two blood-sucking parasites.”

”You... you...” The uncle and aunt turned red with anger.

”Stop it. You better leave now. This house is rented by my boyfriend, and if he calls the police, I can’t help you. Also, if you two get caught by the police, it might be even more troublesome for your precious son to get out.”

Now the two were even more panicked. They pointed at Wang Shuqiu a few more times but didn’t dare to say anything more. Before leaving, they uttered one last sentence, ”You’ll regret this.”

It was ridiculous and laughable.

Watching them leave, Du Heng closed the door. ”We should move. I suspect your uncle and aunt won’t give up so easily.”

Wang Shuqiu pursed her lips. ”Forget it, they won’t dare to mess around. Let Xiao Fang stay here; the rent in other places is too expensive.”

”Alright, as you wish. You make the decision.”

Du Heng went into the room, picked up Wang Shuqiu’s bag, and went to the door. ”Let’s go now, I’m starving.”

”Let’s go.”

The two walked out of the room, arm in arm.

While having their meal, Wang Shuqiu received a call from her Mother.

On the other end of the phone, her Mother tried to appeal to family ties, spoke gently, and finally resorted to threats. But Wang Shuqiu ignored it all, maintaining her stance that this matter had nothing to do with her and suggesting that they should find the beaten girl’s family instead.

Angry, her Mother hung up, not wanting to say another word to Wang Shuqiu. However, just after she hung up, Wang Shuqiu received a call from her father, who said only one sentence, ”Well done,” before hurriedly hanging up.

This exchange cheered up Wang Shuqiu, who had been feeling depressed.

After dinner, the two didn’t plan to return to the mountain. Moreover, after work the next day, Du Heng had to go to Provincial First Hospital to see the two patients with appointments, so he didn’t go back to the Health Clinic’s dormitory but returned to the rented apartment instead.

Anyway, there were two rooms there, and Wang Shuqiu hadn’t finished taking all her things, so staying for one night was no problem.

「The next day」

After getting up, Du Heng instructed Wang Shuqiu and Zhao Xinfang to call him immediately if her uncle and aunt showed up again. He particularly warned Zhao Xinfang to hide in the warehouse where he worked if necessary and not come out.

To Zhao Xinfang, this couple was like a ticking time bomb. They could ignite him at any time, with any words or expressions, rendering Du Heng’s efforts of more than two months in vain.

After giving these instructions, Du Heng went straight to Provincial First Hospital.

At first, Du Heng thought he would have to wait for a while at the hospital, but the patients had already arrived early at Digestion Department 1.

Additionally, Gu Ping, his young assistant, appeared right on time, holding an inspection sheet.

”Mr. Du, when I arrived this morning, I had the patient undergo a gastroscope examination. Here’s the inspection sheet.” Gu Ping approached Du Heng and handed him the inspection sheet. Then he led them to the Reception Room.

While walking to the Reception Room, Du Heng finished reading the inspection sheet. Upon entering the consultation room, he didn’t rush to discuss the results but instead followed his usual routine: first checking the pulse and performing his own examination.

The pulse was soft and slippery, the white, greasy tongue coating was gradually fading, and the tongue itself was pale.

Compared to her condition two weeks ago, it was like night and day.

But if Du Heng merely said so, the female accountant might find it somewhat unconvincing or intangible. However, the inspection sheet in her hand would undoubtedly give her a direct understanding.

”You haven’t smoked at all this week, have you?”

”I quit. I haven’t smoked at all this week, haven’t even smelled it,” the female accountant quickly replied, then looked at Du Heng expectantly.

Although the patient’s condition was improving, which was a happy development, Du Heng still felt something was missing. He looked around and realized that the girl who had been doing live broadcasts on her mobile phone wasn’t there. Turning to the patient, he asked, ”By the way, why didn’t your daughter come today?”

”That girl is too much!” the female accountant said, her anger rising as she spoke of her daughter. ”I had her father find her a job. She spends all day with her mobile phone, filming, saying she can make big money. I haven’t seen her earn a cent, but she’s nearly angered me to death.”

Du Heng nodded. ”Indeed, the live broadcast business isn’t easy; it’s better to find a stable job. Alright, let’s not talk about your daughter. Let’s discuss your condition.”

He pushed the inspection sheet in front of the female accountant. ”Can you understand this?”

”I can’t,” she answered straightforwardly.

”Haha, look here,” Du Heng chuckled. ”HP(-), that indicates Helicobacter pylori negative.”

”What does that mean?” the female accountant asked, not pretending to understand.

Du Heng smiled. ”It means you no longer have a Helicobacter pylori infection in your body.”

The female accountant was so surprised she almost stood up.

She had become all too aware of the consequences of Helicobacter pylori infection recently, and now she could finally rest assured.

”And look here, the intestinal epithelial metaplasia has also disappeared.”

”So, am I better now?”

”Not completely, but it’s considered mild chronic gastritis.” Du Heng leaned back. ”See? As long as you do as I say—take your medicine on time, eat properly, and don’t smoke or drink—you’re getting better, aren’t you?”

”Thank you, Doctor Du! Thank you so much.” As she spoke, the female accountant actually started to cry. ”You don’t know, half a month ago, I felt like my world was collapsing, like I was about to die.”

”Alright, alright, don’t cry. You’re getting better, isn’t that a happy thing? Why are you crying?” He turned to Gu Ping and said, ”Go find a pack of tissues.”

”Okay.”

Grinning, Gu Ping dashed off. In less than thirty seconds, he rushed back from the doctors’ office with a pack of tissues.

Du Heng took out two tissues and handed them to the female accountant. ”Wipe your tears. We’ll start the next phase of treatment. At most, after two more courses, you should make a full recovery.”

Wiping her tears, the female accountant nodded and hummed her agreement to Du Heng.

”How has your diet been this week? Do you still feel bloated after eating?”

”I’ve been eating more than before, mainly because I actually feel hungry now. Especially in the last two or three days, the bloating is almost completely gone.”
