The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 850: Chapter 850: The Good Doesn’t Work, the Bad Comes True

Song Ci was anxious and directly had the servants carry her on a soft palanquin, quickly arriving at the main courtyard.

”Mother.”

”Mom.”

Song Zhicheng and his wife had just arrived as well and stepped forward to support Song Ci.

Song Ci, seeing Song Zhicheng, held his hand and said, ”Your eldest sister-in-law is giving birth, your elder brother went to the Palace, and the third brother is on night duty these days. Right now, you are the only adult male here who can take charge. Keep an eye on the people in the mansion, and don’t let anyone run around chaotically.”

Song Zhicheng was stunned: ”Mother? This...”

Is it necessary to be so vigilant just because a woman is giving birth? Besides, it’s not your sister-in-law’s first child, why so tense?

Song Ci pursed her lips and said, ”Your elder sister-in-law’s pregnancy might be dangerous; peace for mother and child is ideal, but if not... in any case, don’t let people roam around lest someone takes advantage of the situation to make trouble.”

Song Zhicheng and Jiang exchanged a glance, goosebumps arose, and they dared not think any further, saying, ”Mother, rest assured.”

”You go, your sister-in-law is giving birth, and it’s inappropriate for a grown man like you, who is also her brother-in-law, to stay in her courtyard. The major affairs of this mansion are temporarily in your hands. By the way, check if Qian Yong has sent people to request the Imperial Physician, quickly.”

Song Zhicheng nodded and instructed Jiang, ”Follow mother’s orders.”

”Hmm.”

Song Ci held onto Jiang’s hand and entered the main courtyard, seeing the courtyard lit brightly. Though the faces of the maids and servants showed some panic, there was no chaos as each performed their duties, making Song Ci nod inwardly.

After all, this is the principal lady’s courtyard, where the rules are strictly upheld by Madam Song; the essence can be seen in critical moments.

But suddenly, a cry of shock came from inside the main room.

Song Ci’s heart skipped a beat, almost losing her balance.

Jiang quickly supported her, her heart also pounding with fear.

Liu Shi and Lin Qing just then entered the courtyard, hearing the cry too, and their faces turned pale as they hurried forward.

”Mother, second sister-in-law.”

Song Ci steadied herself and looked at Lin Qing, saying, ”Go in and take a look first.”

Inside the main room, Madam Song had already changed into birthing clothes, enduring pain, her face pale, staring at Liu, who had cried out.

”What are you doing?” Madam Song was very uneasy, recalling a nightmare she had, grabbing the bedding, her eyes fixedly staring at Liu.

Liu dropped to her knees with a thud, trembling and speechless, her face devoid of color.

Another midwife, Chen, carefully felt Madam Song’s belly, her face equally pale, yet she gritted her teeth and said, ”Madam, you must get up, the baby’s position has reversed.”

The baby’s position has reversed.

These words felt like a thunderclap, leaving Madam Song and the others in the room bewildered, the color drained from everyone.

Madam Song trembled all over.

Mother Fang urgently asked, ”How could this happen? Wasn’t the position normal just last night?”

How did it reverse in just a few hours?

Liu, trembling, responded, ”I, I also don’t know.”

Madam Song took a deep breath and said, ”Help me up, you must come up with a solution immediately. If anything happens to my child or me, none of your families will fare well.”

This tone, sinister and chilling.

The two midwives became even more frightened and cold-hearted, wishing they had never accepted this undertaking. Now what to do?

Song Ci and the others, coming in, heard Madam Song’s threatening words, all of their hearts sank.

”Madam, Doctor Lin, save us!” Mother Fang, seeing Song Ci and them, seemed to see the backbone; tears immediately streamed down, even Madam Song looked dependently at the two.
