The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 818: Chapter 818: Forgetting Mother After Having a Son

Chunhui Hall.

Song Ci looked at Song Zhiyu, whose eyes never left his son for a second, and couldn’t help but sigh. This full-time dad really surprised her with his attentiveness.

”I don’t usually see you bringing Hong Hong over to chat and relieve this old lady’s boredom, so why are you back now?”

Song Zhiyu was half-lying on the Arhat bed, playing with his son, and said, ”Isn’t it the conscription season? The Commandery Princess is very busy at the military camp, rearranging veteran generals’ lines, and I heard they are reorganizing. She didn’t have much time to come back to the mansion, so my son and I came over.”

”Since the Commandery Princess is not here, you might as well stay for a few days. After all, your courtyard is cleaned every day.” Song Ci pinched her little grandson’s chubby lotus-like arm, finding it particularly amusing.

But it was only fun for less than a minute before her hand was moved aside by Song Zhiyu.

Song Zhiyu grinned and said, ”Mom, the child is still small. If you want to pinch something, pinch your son. I’m chubbier than him.”

With that, he rolled up his sleeve, revealing a chunk of white flesh, and held it out in front of Song Ci.

Song Ci: ”...”

She slapped it and glared, ”Get lost!”

”Ouch, it hurts. Mom, blow on it for me.” Song Zhiyu acted silly.

Song Ci laughed angrily, ”You’re really something, forgetting your mother now that you have a son. Go away.”

Song Zhiyu loudly protested his innocence.

”You call that innocent? I can see how you let Hong Hong act like a little tyrant; if he wants something, he insists on getting it, and if he doesn’t, he cries and makes a fuss.” Song Ci said with a stern face, ”I told you when he was born, you must not spoil the child. Once his nature is set, it will be hard to change in the future. Do you want the heir of Prince Dingbei’s Mansion to be a good-for-nothing?”

”Mom, how can his nature be determined so quickly? Besides, he’s not even half a year old. We really haven’t spoiled him. Smell the medicinal scent on him.” Song Zhiyu picked up his son, held his little hand in front of Song Ci, and said, ”The Commandery Princess let him bathe in medicinal baths from a young age to lay a foundation for martial arts. I didn’t stop it, did I?”

”Admit it, you didn’t dare to stop it.” Song Ci sneered.

Song Zhiyu: ”...”

It’s no fun poking your son’s sore spot, Mom.

”Mom, don’t be fooled by Hong Hong acting like a little tyrant. He’s quite clever. He only dares to behave like this in front of me. In front of his mother, he’s very obedient and knows how to read people; in that way, he’s just like me, very smart.” Song Zhiyu boasted about his son daily with pride.

Song Ci: ”See, you say he’s not spoiled, but that remark shows who’s been spoiling him the most.”

Song Zhiyu looked sheepish.

”I’ve said all I could. You’re a father now, the husband of a Commandery Princess in Prince Mansion. You should be aware of the mansion’s situation and what the heir should be like.” Song Ci said meaningfully, ”Fourth Son, you are the husband to the Commandery Princess, and you are part of the mansion. Its glory is your glory, its loss your loss.”

”Mom, I understand. I’m just spoiling him a bit while he’s still young. By the time he’s two or three, and he’s developed his personality, I probably won’t even be able to spoil him if I try.”

Song Ci’s eyes dimmed slightly, and she asked softly, ”Didn’t the Commandery Princess mention when the Emperor might let you return to the Northeast?”

Song Zhiyu was stunned and shook his head.

Upon hearing this, Song Ci sighed.

A prince with military power and a different surname is always a matter of concern for those in power. Alas.

Nanny Gong lifted the curtain and entered, curtsying towards the two, her voice somewhat muffled, ”Madam, there’s a fight over at Plum Garden.”

Song Ci: ”???”
