The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 824: Chapter 824: Moving Nests

The commotion in the Plum Garden, Bai Shuilian in the Tranquil Garden couldn’t possibly be unaware, especially with the gossiping Bao Datong, Shuanglu, by her side who was gleefully talking to Bai Shuilian at the moment.

”A dignified Imperial Decree Madam, scratching and hitting her husband like a common shrew, the master must despise her. Who knows, a divorce letter might already be in the works.”

Bai Shuilian lowered her gaze, her lips barely curling. With or without a divorce letter, that’s another matter, but tired of Lu Shi, that was for certain.

What man in this world could tolerate a woman riding on his head?

Lu Shi, she has truly committed a grave taboo.

Jingshui, who was beside her, frowned and said, ”Don’t get too happy, this matter has already reached the old madam, and she certainly won’t just stand by.”

Bai Shuilian’s smile faded.

Shuanglu’s eyes rolled, and she said, ”Auntie, I will go find out more right away.”

Bai Shuilian didn’t speak, and just as Shuanglu was about to leave, she had just reached the door when a little maid hastily came in.

Shuanglu raised her eyebrows in a scold and said, ”You little rascal, is there a ghost chasing you or something? Why are you in such a hurry?”

”Sister Shuanglu, Auntie, the old madam’s Nanny Gong and her people have arrived.”

Everyone was taken aback.

Bai Shuilian stood up, tidied her clothes, and quickly went to greet them.

”Nanny Gong, what brings you here?” Bai Shuilian gracefully bowed to Nanny Gong.

Nanny Gong avoided it slightly, returned a partial bow, and with a cold expression, she said, ”Just to let Auntie know, the old madam is worried that the Fifth Miss and Young Master have no one to look after them, so she has decided to move the children to Plum Garden to be taught by their legitimate mother. It’s also good for them to build a close relationship with their legitimate older siblings.”

Bai Shuilian’s smile froze.

Shuanglu and the others were shocked and instinctively looked at Bai Shuilian. Moving the children to Plum Garden?

Wouldn’t that mean separating Auntie from her children?

Shuanglu couldn’t help but argue, ”Nanny, our Auntie has been meticulously caring for the Fifth Miss and Young Master, how can you say there’s no one to look after them?”

Nanny Gong looked over with a stern face.

Bai Shuilian angrily said, ”Shuanglu, keep your mouth shut, aren’t you going to kneel down and apologize to Nanny Gong?” She then said to Nanny Gong, ”Nanny, please don’t take offense, this girl is spoiled by me.”

Shuanglu knelt down, her face full of grievance.

Nanny Gong said indifferently, ”It is only right for the legitimate mother to raise the children. Auntie’s duty is to serve the master at home. Bai Auntie, serving the Third Master well is both your responsibility and blessing. Additionally, the old madam would also like Auntie to transcribe several volumes of the Rebirth Scripture and Ksitigarbha Sutra to be burned during the Ghost Festival. In this way, you will have no time to look after the children.”

Bai Shuilian hurriedly said, ”Being able to share the worries of the old madam is my blessing, how dare I take it as an imposition? Rest assured, Nanny, I will transcribe them diligently.”

Nanny Gong nodded, slightly turned her head to the maids beside her, and said, ”Aren’t you going to take the Fifth Miss and Young Master to Plum Garden?”

”Yes.”

Bai Shuilian had a trace of reluctance in her eyes, yet she forced a smile and said to Nanny Gong, ”Nanny, these two children have never been separated from me since birth, and usually, they are looked after by Jingshui. I implore Nanny, allow Jingshui to follow along and take care of them. I am not afraid of anything else, just afraid that the children will cry in an unfamiliar place and disturb the Madam.”

Nanny Gong glanced at her, then at the calm and stern maid beside her, and said, ”Then let only Jingshui and the wet nurse accompany them. There’s no need for anyone else to go, too many people are not necessarily a good thing.”

”Thank you, Nanny.”

”No need to thank me.” Nanny Gong didn’t even lift her eyelids, and said, ”This was also requested by the Third Master. After all, having the children raised by their legitimate mother is elevating them, don’t you think, Auntie?”
