The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 443: Chapter 443: Panicking Because My Son is Watching Me

Song Ci naturally knew that greenhouse cultivation was feasible. Forget that it’s something from the future; the wisdom of the ancients, when it explodes, is truly extraordinary.

She just felt a little bewildered, having unknowingly pushed the development of this era forward a bit.

This also made Song Ci privately more cautious. She knew that in the future, there were many successful examples of high technology, like firearms in wars. She absolutely couldn’t mention gunpowder explosions; otherwise, using it in this era would be a great crime.

After deliberating for a while, Song Ci said, ”Emperor, I dare not guarantee if it’s feasible to promote this among the people, but as the saying goes, experience comes from practice and accumulation. Without trying, you’ll never know if it will work. If the Emperor truly wishes to experiment with this cultivation technology, why not first open some experimental fields?”

Experimental fields?

Emperor Chu became interested, and Song Zhiyuan was also somewhat surprised, giving Song Ci a deep look.

Song Ci was sharp and noticed her perceptive son’s doubt, feeling slightly anxious in her heart. But she was already riding the tiger and couldn’t get off, so she said, ”Just like this greenhouse of mine, start with small-scale experiments, and when experience is accumulated, it can be promoted in various towns and counties on a large scale. Even if it doesn’t succeed, the loss isn’t great, right? If it succeeds, the people will have a bit more income.”

”What you say is reasonable, haha, Aunt truly is a person of great wisdom.” Emperor Chu openly praised her.

Song Ci chuckled awkwardly, ”You’re too kind. I’m just a farmer, merely had a sudden notion.”

Song Zhiyuan: This sudden notion of yours is quite amazing; I’m a bit skeptical!

Song Ci’s heart was a nervous mess; she didn’t want to look at her perceptive son, fearing he might see through her. She needed to hurry back and think of an excuse to deal with this lad.

Sigh, telling a lie is momentarily satisfying; covering it up is a disaster!

”Let’s do as Aunt suggests; it will trouble Aunt to teach us, as setting up these greenhouses will require your guidance.” Emperor Chu said.

Song Ci, however, didn’t claim this credit and said, ”It’s all thanks to the two old farmers who tend to this greenhouse. If the Emperor wants someone to learn from, they must ask them in detail. However, the greenhouse should not be built only in winter; it should be set up early, as it’s impossible to keep warm everywhere with stoves. The one at the Prime Minister’s Mansion was entirely created by burning silver. But for an experimental field, we can’t burn silver, right? Otherwise, it’s better not to eat.”

Emperor Chu paused for a moment, then laughed out loud.

”Aunt, you have such a humorous way of speaking.”

Song Ci also laughed and opportunely yawned coarsely, showing a look of being tired, as if reminding them to respect the elderly.

Seeing this, Emperor Chu said, ”This greenhouse cultivation technology was privately developed by Aunt. Now that you’ve handed it over to the court, it is indeed a significant contribution. I wonder what reward Aunt would like?”

Song Ci’s eyes lit up; oh, is there such a benefit?

While secretly delighted in her heart, she maintained a modest demeanor on her face, ”I am also a subject of the Great Qing, neither literate nor skilled in martial arts. The best thing I’ve ever done is farming. Offering this technology is just my small effort for the everlasting future of my Great Qing.”

With a noble air of hiding her achievements, Emperor Chu was very moved. Look, even a farmer woman has such a great mind. No wonder she is Prime Minister Song’s mother, valued by both the Emperor and the Empress Dowager.

She knows how to present herself well!

Just as he was about to say words of praise, he heard Song Ci say, ”Um, Emperor, can you save this credit for me?”

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

Emperor Chu: ”???”

Did he misjudge?
