The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Eyes Greedy

Song Ci had met Gai Lanqing before, but every time she saw him, she couldn’t help but marvel, wondering how someone could be raised to be so wonderful.

With such poise and appearance, if he were in the entertainment industry, he’d surely be adored by everyone!

He was like jade amongst men in the field!

”Grandmother, Dear Mother-in-law, Second Aunt, Third Aunt.” Gai Lanqing greeted each of them warmly with a smile, ”Ruqian is waiting inside.”

Madam was highly satisfied and fond of this eldest son-in-law, and she quickly replied, ”We can go in by ourselves, you go ahead and take care of your things.”

Gai Lanqing agreed with a smile but still escorted them to Song Ruqian before leaving after taking one more glance at his wife.

Song Ci observed all this and nodded to herself.

Song Ruqian was already eager and when she saw them, she showed a bit of her girlish nature and acted spoiled.

”Grandmother, forgive me for being unable to bow due to my condition.”

Song Ci sat by the bedside and said with a smile, ”We’re all family, there’s no need for so much formality.”

She looked carefully at Song Ruqian’s complexion, which was a bit pale but full of energy. Her headband was on, and she wore attire that was both simple yet appropriate for receiving guests.

”You should eat more supplements to improve your complexion,” Song Ci suggested. ”Don’t worry about gaining weight. Only with proper nourishment during this recovery period will your body be strong. Otherwise, when you get older and the weather turns cold, you’ll suffer.”

If anyone familiar with Song Ci from the modern day were present, they might clap and praise her expertise. How could someone unmarried and childless talk about postpartum care so knowledgeably?

”Grandmother, I know,” Song Ruqian said, moved.

Madam also remarked, ”Your grandmother is right. You must nourish yourself well to have a good foundation for the next child.”

Song Ruqian blushed and playfully said, ”Mother...”

”Qian’er, where’s little Sweetie?” Jiang was eager to see her little grandniece.

”The nurse took her to be fed, fearing she might cry during her bath.”

Just as Song Ruqian finished speaking, the nurse came in holding the child, and everyone’s attention turned to them.

”Let me hold her,” Song Ci’s eyes brightened.

The nurse had gentle features and her surname was Zhang. Her skin was fair, and her fingernails were neatly trimmed. The maid had already introduced Song Ci and the others, so she smiled and handed the child to Song Ci.

Song Ci took the child, looking down at the baby in the swaddling blanket, thinking she’d see a little monkey since newborns often look wrinkled.

But this child, only three days old, had grown quite a bit, with fair and clear skin, full and smooth forehead, large dark and bright eyes that reflected light, and a small pink mouth, looking very cute.

”This child is truly beautiful, inheriting the best features from both her parents. But I think she resembles her father more,” Song Ci remarked.

Song Ruqian, now a mother, exuded the glow of maternal love, her gaze at her daughter soft as water, said, ”That’s what my parents-in-law say too.”

Jiang had already moved in closer, itching to hold her, but due to her own pregnancy, she refrained and leaned forward to look. Seeing the baby, her eyes nearly melted.

Oh my, she’s just too beautiful, too cute, too sweet, how could there be such a pretty little girl?

”Sweetie, I’m your Aunt Jiang,” Jiang said, eyes full of longing.

Song Ci teased, ”Wipe your drool, it’s about to drip. She’s not a cake, look how greedy you’ve become.”

”Mother, she looks even sweeter than a cake.”

Jiang chuckled, touching her belly. Lin Qing had said there’s a high chance this baby might be a girl, ah, she’ll have to snatch some red dates to eat later.
