The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 417: Chapter 417: Spending Money to Grow Greenhouse Vegetables

The Madam is going to farm!

This news spread through the Prime Minister’s Mansion like snow in the sky, yet it did not cause surprise or disdain, everyone just thought, oh, the old lady is going back to her old profession!

But it’s just farming, after all, the Song Family originally came from a background of farming and studying, and it was just a stroke of luck that produced someone like Song Zhiyuan, a legendary figure, rising from humble beginnings to a position of power, yet no one forgot that they endured hardships and once tilled the land.

So farming would not be a difficult task for the Madam of the Song Family.

No one found that surprising; what was surprising was the Madam insisted on farming not when the flowers bloomed in spring, but now when the snow was falling?

Isn’t this absurd?

Farming in the deep winter, what can be grown, loneliness perhaps?

Oh, and she said she wanted to grow some small greens, amazing, my dear Madam.

Growing greens in the dead of winter, I have to admire you as a visionary thinker.

If it were the original old lady, she probably wouldn’t be so restless, after all, it’s winter and nothing can grow, but the current Madam is actually a modern person with advanced technology brainwaves in the guise of Song Ci.

If you ask if Song Ci, a small celebrity, can sell her art and act, that’s possible, but can she farm?

In fact, Song Ci wasn’t originally able to, but as a celebrity, apart from acting, she also participated in variety shows.

She once joined a reality TV show, where she had to be self-sufficient for every meal, and to get food, she helped the villagers farm with her teammates.

It happened to be winter at that time, with the show set in a small village in Shandong, and almost every villager there had a greenhouse.

So you understand now?

Song Ci is not skilled in farming, but she actually participated in the planting of greenhouse vegetables. She thought of this planting method when she saw the spittoon wrapped in cloth.

Give it a try, perhaps she could grow fresh green veggies, after all, she was quite idle, and couldn’t go play anywhere in the winter, who knows, it might just work!

Upon Song Ci’s command, they found an unoccupied courtyard in the mansion, cleared out thirty square meters of space, removed the weeds, tilled the soil, composted, and then set up a greenhouse.

As for why not do it in her own Chunhui Hall, Song Ci wasn’t foolish; the Prime Minister’s Mansion was large, with many empty courtyards, why ruin her own living space, especially when farming involves composting, and in the cold winter with the north wind blowing, she didn’t want to be smelling that indescribable scent constantly.

So she cleverly chose another courtyard, even if unsuccessful, it would just count as a renovation.

To increase the success rate, Song Ci also had Jiang Fula invite two adept farmers from the village to buy oil paper and seeds, and all the materials needed for a greenhouse.

See, that’s the benefit of having more people; in just two days, they got it up and running. The old farmers looked at the tightly sewn greenhouse and felt the warm spring-like temperature within, contemplating.

If the temperature stays like this, it might indeed be possible to grow fresh vegetables, though it would cost quite a bit.

Indeed, the materials for the greenhouse, such as oil paper, cost money, and the heating requires coal, even if it’s the cheapest kind, it still needs to be burned, otherwise it won’t get warm enough and it would just be a waste of effort!

And Song Ci: As the Madam, I’m loaded, not using some of the storeroom’s wealth would be a disservice. For the sake of satisfying my taste buds, I’ll see it through to the end!
