The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 414: Chapter 414 Song Ci: I Have Leveled Up Again

Madam Song received the news and took a carriage to the Gu Family, only returning to the Prime Minister’s Mansion after dusk to deliver the joyous news to Song Ci.

”Has she given birth?” Song Ci’s eyes were sparkling.

It’s been years since a great-grandson was seen, but an outside great-grandchild is still a grandchild.

Madam Song smiled and said, ”She has, Qian’er gave birth to a girl, and both mother and daughter are safe.”

”Oh my, now I’ve been promoted to an outside great-grandmother. How is Qian’er? Are the Gu Family treating her well?”

Goodness, she hasn’t been married but has become a mother, a grandmother, and now an outside great-grandmother; who else has such good fortune!

Madam Song nodded, ”Everything is well. The Gu Family even said it’s like first blossoming before bearing results, saying Qian’er and the young master are still young. Now they’ve blossomed, soon they will bear fruit. The young master gave the child a nickname, Tiantian, saying the formal name will be given by the grandfather.”

”The Gu Family is right, that’s the principle. As long as the young couple is healthy and in love, under the covers, how can they not have a son?” Song Ci was indifferent to the child’s gender, focusing on the Gu Family’s attitude.

Her words were straightforward, making Madam Song slightly flushed, having to agree. Though she said so, there was still some regret.

The young master is the legitimate heir, and Qian’er will be the matriarch in the future. She must bear a legitimate son soon to secure her position.

”Mother, today Qian’er just gave birth, I haven’t mentioned any of your advice to her. I plan to tell her on Tiantian’s third-day ceremony,” Madam Song said embarrassedly, ”Mother, it’s not that I prefer sons over daughters; I just feel that Qian’er would be more secure with a son to rely on.”

”Speak if you must, but don’t rush it. The most important thing is to take care of her health. I’ll also visit on the third-day ceremony since it’s my great-grandchild,” Song Ci said with a smile.

Madam Song was delighted, ”Then I shall accompany Mother then.”

”Yes, prepare more health tonics and send them to the Gu Family. Don’t skimp; if it’s not enough, take some from my storage,” Song Ci added.

Madam Song was pleased and said, ”Mother is generous, I thank you on behalf of Qian’er, but there’s no need to take from your side. You can have the kitchen prepare nourishing soups frequently; I have enough on my side.”

In understanding hearts, feelings are tendered. Song Ci’s generosity towards her daughter made Madam Song happy, and she would not take advantage of her, especially since she had enough herself.

Returning to the main courtyard, Song Zhiyuan was reading inside. Seeing her return, he hurriedly asked, ”How is Qian’er?”

Madam Song took off her cloak and recounted to him what she had said to Song Ci.

Upon hearing this, Song Zhiyuan sighed with relief, ”As long as mother and daughter are safe, that’s good. There’s no rush for anything else, and no one dares to show her any disdain. The Gu Family is not so short-sighted.”

Given their current status and the Song Family’s entire standing, Song Ruqian’s position was strong; who would dare to treat her poorly?

Madam Song was aware of this, and after Song Zhiyuan’s words, any regret about having a granddaughter instead of a grandson faded away.

She sipped tea and mentioned the discussion with Song Ci regarding disaster relief preparations.

”I’m not doubting Mother; it’s just that in previous years, we used refined rice, and suddenly switching to coarse rice might cause some to make an issue out of it?” Madam Song asked cautiously.

Song Zhiyuan replied, ”Using coarse rice is fine. Don’t forget, our mansion once made a large donation before, and resources are fewer now, so using coarse rice—who can complain, and who can audit our wealth? But Mother is right; a bag of refined rice can be exchanged for several bags of coarse rice to help more refugees. It’s worth it. Let’s follow her suggestion!”

”Yes.”

As soon as Madam Song finished speaking, a sudden exclamation came from outside, ”It’s snowing!”
