The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 406: Chapter 406: Do You Know You’re Going to be Killed by Your Older Brother?

The Emperor dug a pit, aiming for a sudden attack.

Song Zhiyu, upon hearing this question, instinctively looked at Niu Pan’er.

Emperor Chu raised an eyebrow and leisurely watched.

”Initially, I wasn’t very pleased,” Song Zhiyu said through gritted teeth.

Something tore at Niu Pan’er’s heart.

”Oh?” Emperor Chu sneered at him, saying, ”Not pleased? But you didn’t defy the decree.”

Song Zhiyu widened his eyes and retorted, ”Is it even possible to defy a marriage decree?”

Emperor Chu: ”...”

This boy, is he actually dumb!

”Well, if you really didn’t want it, you could have asked your elder brother to plead with me and perhaps the decree could have been revoked.”

Upon hearing this, Song Zhiyu’s neck shrank immediately: ”Forget it, if I really did that, my elder brother would probably tear me apart and kick me out of the house.”

”You know him so well?”

”Of course, he’s my real elder brother, like my dad. One look from him and I’ll have to kneel. Dare I defy the decree and cause trouble? I’m not tired of living!” Song Zhiyu pouted.

Hearing this, Niu Pan’er hurriedly apologized to Emperor Chu: ”Your Majesty, Commandery Prince is naturally truthful and innocent, speaking bluntly. I apologize on his behalf for offending your majesty.”

Song Zhiyu was startled, wondering what he said wrong.

Emperor Chu laughed and said, ”Even though you’re in the military camp, don’t be like your father, apologizing at the drop of a hat. Commandery Prince didn’t say anything wrong.”

Niu Pan’er’s back was soaked with sweat. She glanced at Song Zhiyu with an expression that said ’be careful what you say.’

Song Zhiyu felt a bit at a loss and moved closer to her, feeling protected by the Commandery Princess, unafraid of the dragon’s might.

Emperor Chu noticed this and a faint smile appeared in his eyes as he continued the previous topic: ”You weren’t very pleased initially, are you pleased now?” After a pause, he continued: ”Rest assured, even though your elder brother and I are monarch and subject, we were also young friends, and I even call your mother aunt. You don’t need to fear me punishing you.”

Niu Pan’er: Anyone who believes this is a fool!

Yet, the foolish Song believes it.

But then the foolish Song grinned: ”That scared me. When the Commandery Princess did that, I thought I had offended you. To be honest, Your Majesty, I’m quite pleased now because I have a wife to warm the bed, and the Commandery Princess isn’t too bad.”

A remarkable woman who could master the twenty-four arts indeed isn’t bad.

Niu Pan’er: Haha, thank you, fool, for the compliment!

Emperor Chu said, ”Even if you marry the Commandery Princess and never hold any official position in your life, you’d still be pleased?”

Song Zhiyu pouted: ”Your Majesty, you make it sound like if I don’t marry her, I could hold an official position.”

”Your Majesty, I can’t excel in studies, my fighting skills are as poor as chicken claw techniques, I haven’t even killed a chicken, I don’t even have three-legged cat skills, what big things can I do? This is all I am in this life. So if you are considering giving me a position for the sake of the country, you might as well stop, because I can’t do it!”

Emperor Chu: ”...”

Eunuch Zhou: Do you realize your elder brother might beat you to death?

Niu Pan’er: Fool, shut up already! I don’t want to be a widow the day after getting married!

Emperor Chu suddenly laughed and said to Niu Pan’er, ”The Commandery Princess says the Commandery Prince is naturally honest and innocent. I believe it. Well, you still need to pay respects to the Empress and the Queen Mother, so I won’t keep you. Off you go.”

”Thank you, Your Majesty, for your grace.”

Niu Pan’er took Song Zhiyu’s arm and left.

Watching them disappear, Emperor Chu said, ”Prime Minister Song says his youngest brother is heartless. I indeed think so; the kid is a bit foolish.”

Eunuch Zhou laughed, ”Young Master Song is truly sincere and innocent.”

Emperor Chu lowered his eyes and murmured, ”If not, how would the title of Commandery Prince have fallen to him?”

Eunuch Zhou tensed up and dared not reply.
