The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Teaching You the Secret of Having Boys and Girls

As Niu Pan’er said, her health is indeed much better than when her pulse was first taken.

Lin Qing withdrew her fingers and said with a smile, ”I’ll give you another acupuncture session every three days, and also change the prescription for you.”

Niu Pan’er stood up to pay her respects, but Lin Qing quickly dodged, saying, ”Commandery Princess, you flatter me too much.”

Niu Pan’er shook her head, sat down again, and said, ”I grew up in the military camp, surrounded mostly by men, and my birth mother passed away early, so few reminded me of such matters. If it weren’t for Mother’s reminder last time, I wouldn’t have paid attention, and pregnancy might have been difficult. So this bow, you deserve it.”

Song Ci felt a deep pang of sympathy, held her hand and said, ”Good child, from now on, you have me as your old mother, and I’ll care for you.”

Niu Pan’er smiled and nodded.

Lin Qing, gentle and kind-hearted by nature, said, ”Commandery Princess is a cooperative patient and will have her own children.”

”Thank you for your good words.” Niu Pan’er also felt some hope, caressing her abdomen, thinking that if there is a child, it should be as handsome as Song Zhiyu.

Song Ci’s eyes sparkled, and she said, ”Speaking of children, Pan’er, do you want to have a boy or a girl?”

The mother-in-law had been subtly hinting about bedroom matters, making Niu Pan’er start to blush, but having often heard soldiers telling bawdy jokes, she had grown accustomed and remained calm.

”Either would be fine.” Niu Pan’er laughed and added after a pause, ”If I could choose, then a boy. Navigating the world is easier for boys than girls, and people are generally more forgiving of boys. If it’s a girl, I may not have the heart to throw her into a military camp; it’s too harsh.”

Song Ci: ”...”

Goodness, the child isn’t even here yet, and she’s already planning its future path.

But she’s not wrong. After all, Prince Dingbei’s Mansion needs an heir, and in this era, big or small households all hope for many children and great blessings.

In people’s hearts, only boys are seen as the torchbearers of the family line, and even in later generations, many still believe this — not to mention this feudal ancient time.

”Then from now on, you and Fourth Young Master should adjust your diet.”

Lin Qing raised an eyebrow, ”Bringing out your old tricks again? It’s still uncertain if it works.”

Song Ci snorted softly, ”Do you think I don’t know that the Jiang family asked you to check the pulse and ask about the gender?”

Lin Qing’s mouth twitched slightly, and she curtsied, ”You win.”

Song Ci pretended to be both arrogant and humble, laughing, ”Half a win; it’s still uncertain, and we won’t know until the baby is born, as the probability is fifty-fifty.”

”If you weren’t so arrogant, I would’ve been comforted!”

Song Ci: ”...”

It seems that Dr. Lin has learned to be cheeky!

Nanny: Isn’t it all learned from you?

Niu Pan’er watched the two banter like good friends, feeling very curious, and asked, ”What are you talking about?”

”Oh, it’s the secret to having boys or girls.” Song Ci said mischievously, ”If you want a boy, you should do it this way...”

As Niu Pan’er listened, her ears grew slightly hot.

”Will this work?”

”Look at your second sister-in-law. She hopes for a daughter, and we’ll see if she gets her wish next year. Your second brother has been eating vegetarian for months, his face turning pale as a vegetable. Lin Qing checked the pulse and said the chances of a girl are quite high.”

Hearing this, Niu Pan’er felt some hope too, so she’ll start preparing from tonight.

It’s not that she particularly favors a son, but she doesn’t want her daughter to endure the hardships she’s been through. Life in the military camp for women is too tough.

When Song Zhiyu came home tipsy and happy that night and saw a table full of meat dishes, he displayed a dozen question marks.

Could it be that my wife doubts my physical strength?
