Reborn One Week Before the Apocalypse

Chapter 225: Chapter 215: Earth-Shattering Axe Strike

Tang Mo gripped the axe, her spiritual power condensing into a single force within her sea of consciousness before she suddenly charged forward.

Fewer than twenty High-level Beasts remained, and they were currently locked in combat with the group of Spiritual Ability Users.

Even with the Soul Beast’s orders to stop Tang Mo, they were too preoccupied to break away.

Cutting through the fray of people and beasts was impossible, so Tang Mo took a running start and leaped onto the back of a High-level Beast, using the beasts themselves as a path forward.

It was an incredibly risky maneuver. One misstep, and a beast could throw her off, sending her tumbling into the Mutant Beast Group to become their prey.

Fortunately, the mutant beasts were all preoccupied with the opponents in front of them. Combined with Tang Mo’s speed, her advance went smoothly.

Meanwhile, Jingjing was assisting her from behind. The moment it saw a beast beneath Momo’s feet about to move, it would quickly bind it for a few seconds, allowing Tang Mo to smoothly step on it and continue on.

Soon, Tang Mo successfully leaped onto the tallest of the mutant beasts.

It was the elephant whose trunk had been severed. The elephant stood at the rear of the Mutant Beast Group, and it went berserk the moment it saw Tang Mo about to land on its back.

This very human had sliced off its trunk with a single strike; it would have been stranger if it *hadn’t* gone berserk.

But before the elephant could raise its feet again, Tang Mo used every ounce of her strength to leap high into the air, aiming for the Soul Beast’s position.

She held the Heaven-reaching Giant Axe with both hands, and the instant she jumped, she poured nearly all the spiritual power from her sea of consciousness into it.

The giant axe was, after all, a treasure the Xing Clan had long guarded. As Tang Mo infused it with her vast spiritual power, the axe flashed with a golden light, seeming to merge with the golden glow of her own spiritual power.

’This attack has all my strength behind it. It has to hit!’

She was already dividing her attention between withstanding the spiritual attack and fighting the Soul Beast; her stamina wouldn’t last much longer.

And the other Spiritual Ability Users couldn’t even endure a single wave of the Soul Beast’s attacks. Relying on them to eliminate the remaining High-level Beasts was out of the question.

The most urgent task—the only path to victory—was to kill that Soul Beast as quickly as possible.

When the soul fox first saw Tang Mo traversing the backs of the mutant beasts with a giant axe, it had panicked and hastily ordered its underlings to stop her.

But when it saw Tang Mo simply leap from the elephant’s back with axe in hand, its anxiety subsided.

The elephant was still a great distance away from it—far too great a distance to be crossed with a single jump.

’Humans don’t have wings; they certainly can’t fly. This one is far too naive.’

With this in mind, the Soul Beast didn’t even bother to retreat. It just sat there, waiting to see how Tang Mo would come crashing down.

Under its control, a few High-level Beasts had already broken away from the battle to turn and attack Tang Mo.

The moment Tang Mo hit the ground, she would lose the initiative, be forced onto the defensive, and be instantly torn to shreds by those beasts.

The moment Tang Mo leaped, Jingjing, who had been watching the fight, felt its heart leap into its throat. It used its tiny frame to weave through the mutant beasts, intending to be by Tang Mo’s side to protect her when she landed.

The distance from the elephant to the soul fox was about twenty-odd meters. Logically, Tang Mo couldn’t possibly jump that far.

But that wasn’t her goal...

As Tang Mo reached the apex of her jump, the axe, already glowing, suddenly erupted with an even more intense and blinding golden light.

The golden light was fiercely aggressive, shooting straight toward the soul fox like a sharp blade.

In her human form, Tang Mo certainly couldn’t jump far enough to kill the Soul Beast, but her spiritual power could.

For spiritual power, which moved at nearly the speed of light, a distance of twenty-odd meters was nothing more than an instant.

The moment the spiritual power erupted from the axe, the soul fox’s eyes shot wide open.

As a fellow Spiritual System creature, it knew that running was now impossible. It could never outrun this golden blade of light.

Its only option was to hastily recall the spiritual power it had sent out and form a barrier to block the attack.

But the Soul Beast’s spiritual power was currently focused on attacking Tang Mo. Not only was its reaction a step behind the golden blade, but even if it had tried to recall its power simultaneously, its speed was a notch slower.

In the end, without even a chance to move a single step, a bloody hole two fingers wide appeared on the soul fox’s chest.

It stared in disbelief at the bloody hole the golden blade had torn through its chest, then slowly collapsed.

The spiritual power it hadn’t managed to recall instantly became ownerless. With no direction, it slowly dissipated into the air.

After passing through the soul fox’s chest, the golden blade swiftly returned to Tang Mo’s sea of consciousness.

As Tang Mo landed on the ground, she immediately released five Amulets—small figures made of spiritual power, each holding a sharp sword—to protect herself from the surrounding mutant beasts.

She had already stowed the giant axe and switched back to her Wind Breaker.

Even by exerting all her effort, she could only use the axe twice. With her current level of Strength, the Wind Breaker was a much better fit.

Since spiritual power could be infused into a weapon, it could naturally be projected from it as well.

Tang Mo’s understanding of spiritual power was no longer confined to the knowledge of her predecessors; she had integrated her own interpretations and innovations.

And the more she innovated, the more she realized that spiritual power was like a vast universe. All their collective knowledge and use of it was less than one ten-thousandth of its full potential.

As a Spiritual Ability User, Tang Mo could feel the Soul Beast’s spiritual power dissipating in the air.

Spiritual power doesn’t just dissipate upon complete death. When a host’s brain is near death, the sea of consciousness automatically closes, preventing any externalized spiritual power from returning.

Knowing her attack had landed, Tang Mo dealt with the surrounding High-level Beasts with Jingjing’s help while signaling to Qin Ling back at the base.

The signal meant for Qin Ling and the others to advance.

The Ultra-high-level mutant beast was dead. Now, it was their turn to take the main stage.

Back at the base, everyone was still stunned, mesmerized by the brilliant golden flash of Tang Mo’s mid-air strike.

The memory of that heaven-shattering axe strike would likely be seared into the minds of all who witnessed it for a long time to come.

’Just how many more ultimate moves does that woman, Tang Mo, have up her sleeve?’

After today, a well-known saying began to circulate throughout S Base: provoke anyone you want, but never provoke Tang Mo—not if you want to live.

Qin Ling quickly understood Tang Mo’s signal. The base’s main gate immediately opened, and nearly all the superpower users charged out.

They had been cooped up and frustrated for far too long. Now that the terrifying spiritual attack was gone, it was their time to shine.
