The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: A Heart Deserving Death

Feng Yao was stunned by Feng Qing’s words. This wasn’t what they had agreed on. Didn’t she say she would do as told?

Feng Qing didn’t care, continuing furiously, ”My dear sister has quite some nerve, and the Feng Family is truly shameless. Is the empress’s position the Feng Family’s? It was won by my grandfather from the late Emperor, and yet you brazenly took it away. Now you want me to admit the switch of bridal sedan chairs, is there no justice?”

Just as Feng Qing’s words fell, footsteps echoed from the inner hall, and a group of people emerged.

Leading the group were none other than Your Majesty and Regent King Rong Ling, followed by several courtiers and young noblemen.

They all cast their eyes towards the few individuals inside the East Hall.

The Emperor’s face was extremely grim, his eyes angry as they glared at Feng Yao. She couldn’t even manage such a simple task, did she deserve to be Empress?

Feng Yao’s heart chilled, and she instinctively wanted to speak, but another clear, cold voice like jade beads falling on a plate spoke first.

”Is this the evidence Your Majesty mentioned about the switched bridal sedan, making the Empress entice my Princess Consort to admit to it?”

The final tone was extremely sharp.

Emperor Rong Che shivered lightly, then uneasily lifted his head and said, ”Uncle, it was the Empress who said the matter of the switched sedan was done by Miss Feng, not by me.”

Regent King Rong Ling, face cold, said, ”Ha, Your Majesty, as Emperor of Dayan, listens to the wild words of a mere woman. Ridiculous. I originally intended to return administrative power to Your Majesty one day. But now it seems Your Majesty is unfit for the affairs of the court.”

Rong Che’s face turned pale abruptly, feeling utterly unwell, anxious to assist in governing, yet because of this, he could not take on regency. How could this be? How?

Rong Ling no longer looked at Rong Che and turned his gaze to Feng Qing and Feng Yao in the grand hall, saying, ”Your Majesty need not blame the wedding sedan matter on my Princess Consort. I have confirmed that the switch had nothing to do with her. This can be determined from the dowry.”

Having said that, Rong Ling turned to Rong Che, ”I urge Your Majesty to thoroughly investigate the matter of the switched bridal sedan. The person responsible must receive severe punishment for daring to make a laughingstock of the Royal Family of Dayan. Such a person deserves no pardon.”

After speaking, Rong Ling turned and walked towards the exit of the hall. After a few steps, he suddenly turned back to look at Feng Qing in the grand hall, ”Aren’t you leaving?”

Feng Qing immediately stepped forward, ignoring the furious and pale-faced Feng Yao behind her, following behind Rong Ling out.

Some courtiers and noble family young men in the court also followed Rong Ling out of the East Hall.

Inside the hall, only the Emperor and Empress remained. The Empress trembled slightly as she spoke, ”Your Majesty.”

Rong Che strode towards Feng Yao, angrily shouting, ”Look at the mess you’ve made.”

Hearing Rong Che’s words, Feng Yao felt a pang of anguish. She had just entered the palace, and His Majesty already treated her like this. When more beauties entered the palace later, would she still hold favor?

As Feng Yao thought, she defended herself with a pale face, ”Your Majesty, earlier, my elder sister clearly agreed, but who knew she would suddenly change her mind.”

Rong Che disinterestedly responded to Feng Yao’s words, speaking anxiously, ”What’s the use of saying that now? Didn’t you hear what Uncle said earlier? He wants me to investigate this matter. He’s asking me to provide an explanation, and if I don’t clear this up, he will definitely let me govern in regency.”
