The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Let Bygones Be Bygones in This Lifetime

Feng Qing listened to Si Qi’s words and said blandly, ”Her loyalty is commendable, but she’s just a maid. Sometimes being impulsive doesn’t just harm oneself, but also implicates the master. Everything should be done within one’s capacity.”

Si Qi was taken aback, suddenly becoming enlightened. Yes, everything should be done within one’s capacity. They are just maids; they only need to serve the master well and not betray them. Everything else has nothing to do with them.

”Princess Consort, the servant remembers.”

”Alright, alright, I’m full. You should eat something too.”

Feng Qing got up after filling her stomach, Si Qi respectfully asked her, ”Princess Consort, do you need anything?”

”No, I just ate too much, going to Purple Bamboo Pavilion to digest. Don’t follow me, eat your fill.”

As she finished speaking and turned to walk away, Si Qi still called two little maids to accompany Feng Qing on her walk.

Due to the Empress and Regent Queen mistakenly getting into the wrong bridal sedan chair, it led to the court ministers and Capital City’s people discussing heavily, causing negative impacts on the Imperial Family. So the Emperor specially decreed to hold a banquet in the palace, inviting officials above third-rank and their families to the feast.

Feng Qing, as the main wife of Regent King Rong Ling, naturally had to enter the palace with Rong Ling.

Inside the carriage of Regent Prince Mansion, Feng Qing sat properly, every move impeccably correct.

Just intentionally or unintentionally swaying her tightly wrapped hands a little, to indicate the past actions of a certain someone.

Actually, her hand had already deflated, though still slightly aching, she just wanted to use this to complain about a certain someone’s brutal methods, to calm her anger.

Unfortunately, the Prince Regent seemed not to notice, just focused on looking through a military book in his hands, ignoring her, acting as if not seeing from start to finish.

Feng Qing’s seductive look was wasted on blind eyes, not eliciting any response.

Eventually, she couldn’t be bothered to care about a certain someone anymore, picking up the medicinal book beside her and began to browse.

This medicinal book is a rare compendium of herbs, recording many scarce and valuable herbs. Feng Qing fell in love with this book, always holding it to read.

She had just read a page and was about to turn the page when she heard a cold sneer.

Feng Qing instinctively looked up to see the Prince Regent, who had been quietly reading, staring at her sarcastically — no, at her hand.

”This Prince thought your hand was done for, turns out it can still be used.”

Hearing this, Feng Qing knew the Prince Regent had seen through her little scheme. Neither angry nor annoyed, she raised her hand calmly and said.

”Actually, I’m trying to thank Prince. Thanks to Prince for showing mercy yesterday, only hitting me ten times.”

Rong Ling raised an eyebrow, his deep black eyes slowly gathering a gleam of interest: ”Then how do you plan to thank this Prince.”

Feng Qing thought she misheard. He hit her hand, does she still have to thank him? Is there any justice in this? She was just trying to smooth things over!

”Thank Prince for sparing my hand, willing to repay Prince in the next life as a cow or horse.”

Hehe, slowly wait for the next life then.

Rong Ling’s lips curled into a smile, sharpness fading, revealing a gentle and clear demeanor, his eyes brighter than the midnight stars.

Though Feng Qing was angry at this person, she couldn’t help but admit that he truly possessed good looks, even she had to constantly remind herself not to be deceived by his appearance, or next moment might be an Asura field.

Feng Qing was reminding herself not to be deceived when the lazy voice of the man on the soft couch began: ”This Prince likes to deal with matters of this life in this life.”
