The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: A Plan to Kill Three Birds with One Stone

Zheng An respectfully replied, ”Prince, please wait a moment. I will immediately report to Your Majesty.”

After speaking, Zheng An instructed someone to serve tea to His Highness the Prince Regent, and personally took two eunuchs straight to the bedchamber of Yuluan Palace.

In the bedchamber of Yuluan Palace, the New Emperor was holding the Empress, comforting her not to worry about the situation at the Regent Prince Mansion, assuring her that nothing major would happen.

”Don’t worry, nothing will happen. Feng Qing has been poisoned, and the poison won’t act immediately. By the time she enters the nuptial chamber, even if my Uncle discovers she’s not you, it will be too late, as she’ll be dead, and he can only declare it as a sudden death.”

”At that time, we’ll shift all the blame onto Feng Qing, saying she admired the Prince, and on the day of the wedding, swapped herself with you in a deception.”

After Rong Che finished speaking, Feng Yao, gazing at Rong Che with admiration, said, ”Your Majesty is so clever, achieving three objectives with one strategy.”

Not only did he get rid of his ugly Empress, but also disposed of that ugly woman, putting all the blame on that woman while tarnishing the Prince Regent with the death of Feng Qing.

Although Feng Qing’s death couldn’t be openly attributed to Rong Ling, rumors could still be spread, and when rumors run rampant, they become facts.

Though this matter couldn’t topple the Prince Regent, it could tarnish his reputation with a name of brutality and ruthlessness, why not enjoy it?

In the bedchamber, the two exchanged a knowing smile, their expressions unconsciously tinged with affection, as Rong Che leaned in to kiss Feng Yao.

Unexpectedly, from outside the bedchamber came the eunuch’s report: ”Your Majesty, His Highness the Prince Regent requests an audience.”

Rong Che’s expression changed, a flash of panic slipping through his eyes, but he quickly composed himself.

”It seems Feng Qing has succumbed to the poison. I’ll go out to see what my Uncle has to say. Yao’er, wait here for a moment. I’ll be back soon to accompany you.”

”Your Majesty, go ahead, I will wait for you,” Feng Yao replied with a bashful smile, watching Rong Che leave.

In the main hall of Yuluan Palace, Rong Ling sat with a menacing air, lightly leaning against the seat. Though he said nothing, anyone with eyes could tell that His Highness the Prince Regent was currently very displeased, extremely displeased.

This was the Dayan Regent King, not only of high rank and authority, dominating the court, but also ruthless and cruel. In the court, there was once a courtier unhappy with his authoritarian rule, demanding he return power to Your Majesty, only to be severely injured by a single blow from the Regent King, and is still recuperating at home.

Not to mention the courtiers, even the Empress Dowager and Your Majesty dare not provoke him, let alone others.

In the main hall of Yuluan Palace, the palace maids and eunuchs were all as silent as cicadas in winter, not daring to make a single sound, fearing to provoke this master and lose their lives.

Rong Ling’s cold and icy gaze casually swept over everything in the hall, feeling particularly irritable. He had originally no intention of marrying a main wife, but the Empress Dowager decreed the marriage, and he didn’t want to embarrass the Empress Dowager and the Emperor. He hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.

As Rong Ling thought about it, his gaze fell on the woman standing motionless behind him. Although the woman was thin and frail, her posture was straight, and her eyes calm, seemingly unaffected by the situation before her.

Rong Ling recalled how this woman had kicked him earlier, and a smile curled at the corner of his mouth, albeit a cold one.

Even though Feng Qing knew Rong Ling was watching her, she remained silent until the eunuch’s voice echoed.

”His Majesty has arrived.”

Inside the hall, Rong Ling elegantly flicked his robe sleeve and slowly stood up, bowing toward the imperial figure clad in bright yellow, saying, ”I have seen Your Majesty.”
