The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Really Good at Causing Trouble

Feng Qing seemed not to hear, she started eating, at this moment, nothing mattered more than her hunger.

Nanny Qian and Si Qi exchanged glances, unsure of what to say, neither dared to speak up.

Even though they had just met the Princess Consort, they knew she was not an easy person, so if they spoke up, they might also get chased out by her.

The flower hall was silent, save for the sounds of Feng Qing eating. When Feng Qing was nearly full, she looked up to see Nanny Qian and Si Qi standing respectfully at one side, and waved her hand, saying, ”You all go eat too.”

Si Qi immediately responded, ”I will attend to the Princess Consort while she eats, Nanny Qian, you may take them down.”

”I will go down now.”

Nanny Qian took two little maids down, while Si Qi attended Feng Qing’s meal.

Though initially, she was quite afraid of Feng Qing, especially with that spider on her face, which was truly terrifying.

But now the fear had lessened considerably, because as long as one didn’t provoke the Princess Consort, she seemed quite easy to get along with.

After Feng Qing had eaten her fill, she instructed Si Qi to have someone clean up.

”You should also go eat something.”

”Yes, I will call Caiyun to come in and serve tea to the Princess Consort.”

Feng Qing nodded in agreement, Si Qi went out to call the little maid to clear things away, and then had the second-class maid Caiyun come in to serve Feng Qing tea. Once everything was settled, she retreated, but as she reached the door, she couldn’t help asking softly on behalf of Si Hua.

”Princess Consort, please forgive Si Hua this once, she definitely won’t dare to contradict you again.”

Feng Qing looked at Si Qi and said, ”Did I tell her to kneel? If she wants to kneel, let her kneel.”

Si Qi finally dared not make another sound, led the little maid out.

In the afternoon, Feng Qing, accompanied by Si Qi and several maids, began sorting through her dowry.

Upon sorting, Feng Qing discovered that in her eighty-eight cases of dowry, the most valuable items were the medical books and some ancient paintings, which were her mother’s dowry. Madam Jing’an Lin Family probably considered them worthless, thus included them.

The rest were mostly decorative but not practical. Feng Qing put to use whatever was usable and discarded into boxes things like dull-colored fabrics and bulky vases.

Some other valuables like the five thousand taels silver note, several medical books, ancient paintings, and a few sets of jewelry were all put away.

She spent the entire afternoon rearranging her living space, which now looked completely different — warm, elegant, grand, and clear, making it an exceedingly pleasant view.

In the courtyard, Si Hua remained kneeling. The incident was being discussed all over the Prince Mansion, eventually reaching the ears of Rong Ling upon his return.

”What’s going on?”

Rong Ling entered Purple Bamboo Pavilion with an unpleasant expression and several subordinates.

He had been away just one afternoon, yet the woman had caused another stir, truly a troublemaker.

In front of the Purple Bamboo Pavilion, Si Hua raised her head in grievance upon hearing Rong Ling’s voice; her eyes welled up, and tears began to fall.

Her knees were almost giving out from kneeling, she had thought the Princess Consort would let her up, but unexpectedly she had been kneeling the whole afternoon.

Her dignity was utterly gone this time, she might as well have stayed with the Prince.

Hearing Rong Ling’s voice, Si Hua couldn’t help but cry.

Following behind Rong Ling, one of the two maids quickly stepped forward to help Si Hua up. Because Si Hua had been kneeling for so long, she could barely stand straight, almost stumbling.
