The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Getting Worse Instead of Better

Rong Ling spoke coldly and ruthlessly: ”Causing such a big issue for me, shouldn’t you be punished?”

Feng Qing felt exasperated. Did she intend to cause him trouble? She wished she could stay as far away from him as possible.

But right now, telling him this was useless. The fact that this man gave her a chance to prove herself was already not easy.

”Prince, if you want to lock me up, can you at least give me something to eat? It’s not yet time for me to starve to death.”

”Nan Feng, instruct the kitchen to prepare her some food. Make sure she doesn’t starve.”

”Yes, Prince.”

Feng Qing breathed a sigh of relief and didn’t bother to think further as her weary body was dragged to the woodshed.

Just as she was thrown into the woodshed, some Prince Mansion Guards started banging and nailing all the windows of the woodshed shut.

The woodshed was engulfed in darkness.

Exhausted to the point of death, Feng Qing ignored the dark and decided to take a nap, to deal with everything after she woke up.

Just as she closed her eyes, someone outside opened the door, and a guard from the Prince’s Mansion came in with a large bowl of rice, topped with various dishes.

Feng Qing looked at the food, it seemed so enticing, and she started eating immediately. It was truly delicious.

Recalling her past life, back when she was a genius doctor, so many people, to cure their illness, would offer her food prepared by world-class chefs. Now, just a simple bowl of rice with some dishes was enough to satisfy her.

Others seem to get better and better, but she is worse off than before. It’s truly pathetic.

As Feng Qing ate, she thought, and the more she thought, the worse she felt, until even the delicious meal lost its flavor. At this moment, someone came to see her sorry state.

”Subordinate greets Consort Jiang, Consort Song, Aunt Tong, Aunt Shu.”

”Hmm, open the door. We want to see the Princess Consort.”

The person speaking was obviously very pleased and in a good mood.

Inside the woodshed, Feng Qing raised an eyebrow and thought coolly; these were women of the Regent King, Rong Ling, and now they came to kick her when she was down.

Ha ha.

Outside, a guard hesitated to speak: ”Please forgive me, Your Ladyships, we are ordered to guard, and it wouldn’t be right to open the door without the Prince’s command.”

A previously speaking woman’s voice, oh-so-gentle, continued: ”Guard Zhao, we’re just going in to have a look, we won’t do anything. If the Prince blames anyone, we will take the responsibility. We won’t make it difficult for you, Guard Zhao.”

Eventually, the outside guard agreed. If it were someone else, he might disregard them, but this Consort Jiang was someone whom the Prince valued and trusted, handling all the affairs of the mansion. Therefore, he couldn’t offend her openly.

”Please be quick, Your Ladyship.”

Guard Zhao opened the door, and several figures swiftly entered.

Feng Qing was holding a bowl of food and was reclining on a stack of firewood. Hearing the commotion at the door, she looked up at the women coming in.

Since the woodshed was somewhat dark, the women entering from outside struggled to adjust and mumbled.

”Why is it so dark?”

”We can’t see anything, let’s go back.”

While the newcomers failed to see the inside of the woodshed clearly, Feng Qing had a good look at the people who entered.

Among the group, the leading four women should be Rong Ling’s women, each with distinct traits: one gentle and elegant, one charming and lively, another beautiful and enchanting, and lastly, delicate and touching.

The Prince Regent is indeed blessed, Feng Qing smirked lightly and continued to eat her food.
