The Empress Wants a Divorce Every Day

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Your Subject Fears the Prince

Outside the palace, inside the carriage of the Regent Prince Mansion, there was an air of cold and gloom.

On the soft couch, Rong Ling leaned slightly against the wall of the carriage, closing his eyes in contemplation over today’s events. Was today’s bridal sedan blunder orchestrated by Feng Qing, with the Emperor taking advantage of it, or was it the Emperor and the Feng Family’s handiwork all along?

If it were the former, it could be forgiven, but if it were the latter, Rong Ling suddenly opened his eyes, deep and cold as a dark abyss, with a gaze sharp as a blade, instinctively making one shudder.

On one side of the carriage, Feng Qing quickly considered the current situation. She had initially planned to enter the palace to strategize, but unexpectedly ended up in the Regent Prince Mansion. The Prince was surely extremely angry now; if he believed today’s bridal sedan blunder was her doing, she wouldn’t be able to survive.

Therefore, she had to first convince this man that today’s mistake was not her doing, but the scheme of the Emperor and the Feng Family.

If the Prince Regent could see this clearly, she might still have a chance to save her life, even if he just sent her away from the Imperial City far away.

Thinking this, Feng Qing turned to Rong Ling and said, ”Prince, today’s event was absolutely not my doing. Please believe that I would never do something that would harm myself.”

Rong Ling’s phoenix eyes slightly opened, coldly looking down at her with disdain, and he asked, ”Do you have any evidence?”

Feng Qing was taken aback; in such a short time, where could she find evidence?

”Prince, I have no reason to do this. Entering the palace, I would be the Empress, one person below, and thousands above. Entering the Regent Prince Mansion, I am just a Princess Consort. Although the Prince is a rare dragon among men, still...”

Rong Ling looked at the calm and composed woman before him, his phoenix eyes narrowing involuntarily. Is this woman really the eldest lady of the Feng Family? In front of him, she showed no sign of fear at all.

Bear in mind, as the Dayan Regent King, due to his rather harsh methods in handling affairs, not to mention the common people, even some of the court ministers dared not meet his gaze directly, yet this woman showed no trace of unease or fear before him.

Rong Ling thought while dangerously speaking, ”Are you implying that I am inferior to the Emperor?”

Feng Qing’s words were abruptly cut off. She turned her head to look at the beautiful man on the soft couch, a flash of impatience in her eyes, though her expression remained calm, ”I meant that I have no reason to do this.”

”You admire me, so you switched the bridal sedan.”

Rong Ling’s eyebrows showed complete composure, as if what he said were fact.

Feng Qing gritted her teeth harshly. How confident he must be, to assume she admired him and wanted to marry him. Did he think all women in the world admired him?

While thinking this, Feng Qing uneasily looked at Rong Ling and said, ”Prince, I truly do not admire you, my lord?”

Once Feng Qing finished her sentence, she deliberately trembled slightly, lowering her head in fear and said, ”I am afraid of you, Prince.”

Now he should believe that she doesn’t admire him, right? It should be enough that she fears him.

On the soft couch on the side of the carriage, Rong Ling’s extraordinarily beautiful face darkened, his deep gaze especially fierce. Wasn’t it too late for fear now, given her previous boldness?

”Haha, you could pretend a bit more convincingly.”

With that, Rong Ling leaned back against the couch, ignoring Feng Qing.

Feng Qing felt powerless. What could she say to make him believe her; that she didn’t like him at all and never intended to marry him? This was all concocted by that dog Emperor Rong Che and the Feng Family.

”Prince, do you think, with my abilities in the Feng Family, I could accomplish something like this?”
