Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”That’s the wind-up for Ghost Explosion Shockwave! Full defense!”

”Woof!” Yu Bao immediately formed a Quicksand Shield beneath his body.

Su Zhi understood that under Diya’s control, the battle had devolved into a clash of pure power. At this point, all tactics were useless.

In a way, Peng Kai and Diya had already achieved a strategic victory. This was because this tempo was one the Purple Flame Demon Spirit excelled at.

What came next was a contest of execution.

”Hm?”

Peng Kai’s eyes widened when he saw the overlapping yellow and red Light Array appear in mid-air.

’This Skill... could it be...??’

”BOOM!”

The next moment, a massive meteor shot out from the Light Array, heading straight for Diya.

”Saa!?” Diya was startled. Forgetting about charging up further, he hastily unleashed the Ghost Explosion Shockwave.

A concentrated beam of purplish-red flame slammed into the meteor, sending shattered rock and molten fire churning through the air. Empowered by the Ring of Nether Flame, Diya had the upper hand in this exchange. The meteor was smashed to pieces, and the scattered fragments rained down across the entire arena.

The remaining force of the Ghost Explosion Shockwave continued upward and collided with Yu Bao’s Quicksand Shield. The last of its Energy shattered the shield as well.

But the moment the Quicksand Shield disintegrated, the scattered sand instantly became orderly again.

Yu Bao used the residual sand from the Quicksand Shield to augment his Sand Manipulation Technique, rapidly gaining altitude. The other portion of the sand transformed into a Sandstorm that blasted downward, forcing Diya away.

Diya smoothly dodged the Sandstorm, a shocked little expression still on his fiery face.

The image of the massive meteor that had just appeared still lingered in his mind.

’That Skill... isn’t that Star Meteor Burst?’

’Doesn’t that thing require immense Energy Perception and Energy Control to master? A Yu Dian Dog can learn that?’

’Then again, Yu Bao is hardly a normal Yu Dian Dog...’

To be honest, Yu Bao’s current Skills were already ridiculous enough. Diya never imagined he could also pull a meteor out of nowhere.

As a Beast Tamer, Peng Kai hadn’t expected it either... Or rather, trying to predict an opponent like Yu Bao was a pointless endeavor in itself.

”Don’t panic! Star Meteor Burst consumes a lot of Energy. Yu Bao won’t be able to use it again anytime soon. Press the advantage!” Peng Kai’s voice came from the Beast Taming Space.

Diya focused. This time, he didn’t release another Ghost Explosion Shockwave. Instead, he shot directly into the air.

—As a Telekinesis Pet Beast, he had the innate ability to levitate.

Yu Bao couldn’t activate Desert Concealment in the air. Even though his Sand Manipulation Technique was also skillful, he was still a notch below Diya, who was enhanced by the Energy Gathering Ring. He was quickly overtaken.

”Woof!”

As if in a last-ditch struggle, Yu Bao used his last moments to form a Quicksand Shield and swing it at Diya.

”Saa!”

Diya dodged nimbly, grazing past the Quicksand Shield.

Immediately after, he followed up with a fluid mid-air spin, and the Furious Sand Blade that had transformed from the Quicksand Shield shot right past him.

A smug little expression formed on his fiery face.

’So what if you have seamless transitions? This time, I predicted your prediction!’

And using the momentum from that forward roll, Diya miraculously closed the distance to Yu Bao.

”Saa!”

This move was called Powerful Punch!

The Nether Flame Spike, empowered by the Energy Gathering Ring, slammed viciously into Yu Bao’s body. The hit was solid, and this time, it was the real thing.

However, to Diya’s surprise, the feedback from the Jab was unexpectedly hard.

At that moment... Yu Bao had activated Thick Earth Blessing!

Although Yu Bao was better at non-contact combat, the Yu Dian Dog’s Core Skill was a true Overlord Skill.

As a somewhat outdated first-generation Core Skill, Thick Earth Blessing struggled against a full-power attack from a Low Level Commander Race, but it still offered some protection.

No, it wasn’t just Thick Earth Blessing...

Diya also saw a thin layer of Flame appear on Yu Bao’s body.

Compared to Diya’s own Fire, that layer of Flame seemed insignificant, but Diya clearly felt a significant amount of the Energy from his punch being absorbed by it!

The Powerful Punch had failed to break through his defense!

Although Yu Bao’s expression was pained, a cunning glint flashed in his eyes.

’Actually, I don’t know what just happened either, but acting calm and collected right now looks way cooler.’ On the other hand, his tactic had indeed succeeded.

Now, it was Yu Bao time!

The two Furious Sand Blades that had just missed Diya had, at some unknown point, broken apart and reformed into scattered sand, which then stealthily circled around to Diya’s flanks.

”Saa?!” By the time Diya sensed something was wrong, the sand was already extremely close.

A fully formed Skill is easy to guard against, but scattered grains of sand are much harder to notice. This was especially true since Diya had gone all-in, pinning his hopes of victory on that last punch, which made him less cautious than before.

A victory within arm’s reach is the easiest way to make a Warrior impatient.

Diya had bet his entire hand, but Yu Bao had never intended to settle the match with that one exchange. Even at this decisive moment, he was still carefully executing his own strategy, step by step, remaining incredibly steady.

Even Peng Kai, in his command position, hadn’t anticipated this move. After all, this kind of Elemental manipulation required extremely high Energy Control from a Pet Beast, and it had to be done without alerting the opponent.

Beyond just ability, it was also a huge test of a Pet Beast’s mentality.

Even in the stable environment of a laboratory, very few Pet Beasts could achieve such smooth control, let alone on a constantly changing battlefield.

’While facing the risk of being taken out in one hit, he’s busy doing embroidery. What kind of guts does it take to pull something like that off??’

But Yu Bao had done it.
