Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Pearl Harbor Training Center, in the Shanda University Affiliated School dorms.

Wang Haokun, Chen Xinghao, and several others in Shanda University Affiliated School uniforms were gathered in the center of the living room. A huge blueprint lay on the coffee table, covered in the strategies and tactical plans they had been discussing for days.

These were the top students from Shanda University Affiliated School, even more formidable contestants.

Starting tomorrow, they would officially face the brutal competition of the city league qualifiers. Their goal was to charge into the finals and face Huai City First Middle School, the team that had defeated them last time.

Although everyone knew deep down that the results of a practice match held little real weight, the team from Huai City First Middle School, led by Su Zhi, had still given them quite a shock.

In the eyes of the Shanda University Affiliated School students, even if they were holding back, a team from a small city shouldn’t have even been able to touch them. Any victory that wasn’t a complete steamroll was cause for alarm and close scrutiny.

Losing so directly... it had put them on maximum alert.

That evening, the captain, Chen Xinghao, had already relayed their homeroom teacher’s message to the others:

The next time they faced Huai City First Middle School, they weren’t just to win—they had to achieve a complete three-to-zero victory!

If they couldn’t win, there would be hell to pay.

Just then, the person squatting by the curtains with binoculars, who was acting as the lookout, waved a hand. ”They’re back.”

At the news, everyone straightened up, dropping their pens.

Wang Haokun immediately went over. ”Which direction did they come back from?”

”Should be the Storm Strait. The place they went to the night before last was the Storm Strait.”

Wang Haokun was lost in thought. ”Then it must have been to evolve that Hao Waterfowl... Did the Hao Waterfowl evolve?”

”I don’t know. The Beast Tamer who contracted the Hao Waterfowl isn’t with their group.”

Wang Haokun asked again, ”Is that so? Alright. What about anything else?”

”Su Zhi has his Yu Dian Farm Dog and Flash Gold Sparrow with him, and that girl Shao Ya also has her Shadow of Ancient Jing out. No change with the other two.”

”Alright, keep watching them.”

Wang Haokun sat back down by the coffee table and wrote quickly on the paper, ”Su Zhi’s group was out of our sight for a total of thirty-eight hours. The preliminary assessment is that they went to the Storm Strait... Unfortunately, it’s too far, beyond the scanning range of a Beast Tamer’s specialized device. We don’t know what they did during this time, nor do we know how much they improved.”

Chen Xinghao chuckled softly. ”I personally wouldn’t worry about that. It’s only been a little over a day. Outside of an evolution, no Pet Beast can undergo a qualitative change in such a short time.

”Let’s be generous and say each of their Pet Beasts gained three hundred points of Real-time Energy Value in a day. That’s still not enough to decide the outcome of a battle.

”The way I see it, the reason they’re only just getting back isn’t because they were doing some secret training; on the contrary, they were probably delayed. Remember? The Storm Fish Dragons launched a massive attack on the Storm Strait the day before yesterday. Even the instructors were deployed. They were likely stuck there for a day because of it and only dared to return after diplomatic relations were established. They’re lucky to have made it back in one piece; it’s basically impossible they made any improvements.”

”That’s a more reasonable guess, but it never hurts to be prepared for the worst. Let’s just assume they really were training in secret and each Pet Beast gained three hundred Energy points.”

Wang Haokun wrote quickly on the paper, then frowned again. ”What concerns me more is that Liu Yuhang didn’t show up. If they really went to the Storm Strait, then Liu Yuhang and his Pet Beast would have been the main characters... We can’t rule out the possibility that they’ve noticed our surveillance and are deliberately hiding Liu Yuhang to use him as an unexpected trump card.”

”They’re certainly playing their cards well... too bad their opponent is us!”

Chen Xinghao couldn’t help but let out a smug little chuckle.

The next moment, a tender-green Beast Taming Light Array shimmered, and the head of an enormous Pet Beast emerged—

[Pet Beast: Battle Halberd (Storm Fish Dragon)

Attribute: Water, Wind Element

Race: High Level Elite Race

Real-time Energy Value: 3120]

Seeing everyone’s astonished gazes, Chen Xinghao gave a satisfied snap of his fingers, and the Giant Beast’s head slowly returned to its Beast Taming Space.

One of the students gathered around, both shocked and delighted. ”Brother Ri Tian, is this... Did you just contract it yesterday?”

”That’s right. I got one of the first contract slots that opened up after the Common Defense Alliance formed an alliance with the Fish Dragon Race!”

Chen Xinghao’s chin lifted even higher in triumph.

”Wuhu! Brother Ri Tian is awesome!”

”This is a sure thing now. Who would’ve thought Brother Ri Tian contracted a Storm Fish Dragon? They probably won’t even have to fight; the other team will lose all their will to fight as soon as they hear about it...”

”The other team was probably planning to spring their Turbulent Duck on us for a shocking upset, but they never expected Brother Ri Tian to be on a whole other level. No matter how good a Turbulent Duck is at Strong Attacks, it could never overpower a Storm Fish Dragon!”

”I don’t even think they need to fight. Their legs will go weak the moment they see it. This is a matter of bloodline suppression...”

”Alright, quiet down everyone.” Wang Haokun waved his hand and looked at Chen Xinghao. ”The Turbulent Duck problem is solved. As long as you send out your Storm Fish Dragon, everything will be fine, right?”

Chen Xinghao snapped his fingers. ”Yep. I’ll let them know who the real clowns are.”

Wang Haokun nodded and wrote quickly on the paper, ”Fang Yuan and Cao Mingyu are strong, but we already have countermeasures, so facing them won’t be a big problem. Shao Ya’s Shadow of Ancient Jing has strong combat power with no obvious weaknesses. We don’t have a Pet Beast that can specifically counter it, so our main strategy will be to tie it down and wear it out.

”Furthermore, Shao Ya already has a Tier Three Beast Taming Space. We can’t rule out the possibility that she has secretly contracted other Pet Beasts that she hasn’t shown in public.”

Chen Xinghao pursed his lips. ”I doubt it. Doesn’t Su Zhi’s little group always like to keep their Pet Beasts out with them? Besides, they shouldn’t even know we’re watching them.”
