Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Cotton: ”...”

”My friend Fang Yuan,” Cao Mingyu said, looking at him. ”Our opponents are putting on quite a show. We can’t be outdone. Let’s show them our own pure, comradely friendship!”

Fang Yuan: ”No.”

Amidst their banter, both sides had already walked to their command positions, and their Pet Beasts were ready on the stage.

The match began!

”Lilith, use Dark Flame Strangulation to surround the arena. Don’t give them a chance to prepare—charge!”

Fang Yuan’s command was firm and decisive.

While their PDA was worthy of condemnation, the young couple opposite him was quite smart. They didn’t charge in recklessly this time, instead opting to dig in and defend.

Their Pet Beasts were Wood Element, with mostly Non-Contact Skills and Healing Skills. If it turned into a war of attrition, his side would have a very difficult time.

This time, Lilith dropped the act and went straight for a swift charge.

After recovering her Nether Flame Body, Lilith was in even better condition than before. When a core organ fully heals, it leads to a deeper understanding of one’s own Attributes and Energy. Naturally, her power experienced a second spring.

It was true that Lilith was now a master of using slow-paced tactics to counter speed, but if she were to return to her assault tactics, she could unleash an offensive that no Pet Beast could withstand—even fiercer than before!

In the blink of an eye, Lilith had already charged in front of Left and Right Leaves. A faint white light flared, striking the two Pet Beasts like a sharp arrow.

White Flame Battle Spirit Racial Skill, White Flame·Blade Form!

At the same time, Lilith’s claws transformed into White Flame Soldier’s Blades, striking at both Pet Beasts simultaneously.

”SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!”

A dense sound of slashing filled the air. Broken branches and scattered leaves flew across the stage amidst constant explosions, kicking up thick white smoke that temporarily obscured the broadcast on the big screen.

The audience, whose brains had just caught up with the visuals, were all dumbfounded.

”The contestant’s profile said this White Flame Battle Spirit’s Nether Flame Body was damaged... right?”

”You call *that* damaged? I’d believe you if you told me she was the top specimen of her generation!”

”And if I remember correctly, female White Flame Battle Spirits are supposed to be slightly weaker than males...”

”I saw how she acted all demure around her Beast Tamer, so I assumed she wasn’t much of a fighter.”

”A weak little damsel with A-rank strength and speed!”

However, when the white smoke cleared, the audience discovered that the Pet Beasts from the Shanda University Affiliated School team had not been taken out quickly.

Although the visual effect of flying flowers, grass, and intertwined explosions had been shocking, Left and Right Leaves were completely unharmed. They had even managed to create distance from Lilith.

Fang Yuan, whose vision was enhanced as a Beast Tamer, saw the scene clearly and frowned slightly.

The Shanda University Affiliated School’s Pet Beasts were no pushovers, after all. Their defensive awareness was a step ahead; by the time Lilith charged in, Left and Right Leaves were almost fully prepared to defend.

At the same time, they hadn’t forgotten to guard against Dark Flame Strangulation. They used a low-cost Flying Leaf Storm to clear their surroundings, prematurely triggering the recently laid Dark Flame trap.

”Their team’s composition relies mainly on the White Flame Battle Spirit for damage output. As long as we can defend against her, everything will be fine.” Wang Haokun pushed up his glasses in the waiting area.

In the first exchange, Lilith’s charge failed to seize the initiative. It was clear the Shanda University Affiliated School team had done their homework this time!

”Chirp.”

Lilith moved slowly, her pale pink eyes scanning for an opening in the opponents’ formation.

However, Left and Right Leaves held their ground firmly, and for a moment, Lilith truly couldn’t find a breakthrough point.

”If Cotton buffs you, can you break through with a strong attack?” Fang Yuan’s voice echoed from the Beast Taming Space.

”Chirp.” Lilith shook her head slightly.

”Then fall back for now. Their formation looks like they’re planning a counter-encirclement,” Fang Yuan responded.

Lilith nodded and prepared to retreat, but Left and Right Leaves immediately launched a major counterattack, as if on a signal.

Flower Spirit Blessing enveloped half the arena. After being bathed in its light, the sharp Flying Leaf Storm offense became even more beautiful and deadly.

Simultaneously, a pale golden light covered Left and Right Leaves, making their Flower Spirit Blades an even greater threat!

”Cotton, Sun Shield! Cover Lilith!”

Cao Mingyu also realized the gravity of the situation. This time, he couldn’t even be bothered to have Cotton maintain its symmetry.

The Sun Shield appeared just in time, blocking most of the Flying Leaf Storm, but this played right into the hands of Left and Right Leaves.

In that instant, Left and Right Leaves, having closed in on Lilith, extended their Flower Spirit Blades toward the Sun Shield. The once thick and shining shield immediately dimmed.

Cao Mingyu instinctively clenched his butt. ’This is bad,’ he thought.

Super Flower Demon Racial Skill, Grass Element Low Level Elite Skill, Super-speed Absorption!

A Super Flower Demon can absorb and convert any product made of Attributes that the Wood Element is strong against into its own Energy!

And the Wood Element has a four-fold advantage against the Water and Light Elements.

Even though Cotton was already a Low Level Commander Race Pet Beast, under the combined power of Left and Right Leaves, the Sun Shield was still drained dry in an instant, visible to the naked eye.

At the same time, the two Pet Beasts’ Energy Values received a brief boost!

However, just as Left and Right Leaves seemed ready to attack Lilith together, they found she was no longer on the stage.

”It’s Burning Ash Divine Concealment,” Ke Yan said stonily, picking up where the now-silent host left off. ”It’s a type of Stealth Skill used by White Flame Battle Spirits, with an excellent cloaking effect. Unless a Pet Beast has outstanding Perception, it’s very difficult to track.”

Cheers erupted endlessly from the audience.

In what seemed like a single moment, Lilith had successfully escaped the major offensive from Left and Right Leaves. The rapid and clean switch between offense and defense was incredible to watch.

’This ticket was worth the price!’

However, Left and Right Leaves didn’t continue to pursue Lilith. Instead, they both turned and attacked Cotton.

At the same time, a cyan Light Array covered the entire stage. Giant petals of the same color erupted violently, enveloping Cotton and Left and Right Leaves. They closed at the top, forming a completely sealed cage!

Fang Yuan’s eyes widened.

Wood Element Low Level Commander Skill, Great Flower Spirit Secret Forbidden Prison.

This move was hailed as the strongest Commander Tier Control Skill of the Wood Element. Its effect was to lock itself and its opponent in a ”black room” together, using its control over the entire space to beat the opponent senseless.

Its outer walls were incredibly sturdy. Even a Same Tier Pet Beast with a countering Attribute would have to expend considerable effort to break through!

However, this wasn’t a standard skill for a Super Flower Demon. When Fang Yuan and Cao Mingyu had planned their strategy, they had never considered this move!

On the sidelines, Wang Haokun sighed. ”Maybe learning from Su Zhi is the right way to go. Sometimes you can’t be too conventional.”

”QAQ! Awoooo!”

Cotton’s miserable cries came from within the Big Flower Spirit Secret Forbidden Room. Without the threat of Lilith, Cotton was completely helpless. The two Super Flower Demons began to take turns wringing it dry.

Even though Cotton was a Commander Tier Pet Beast, it couldn’t withstand this kind of ordeal!

Cao Mingyu commanded decisively, ”Cotton, calm down! Actively defend and look for an opportunity! Remember to keep your left and right paws on the same central axis, don’t stick your tongue out when you smile, and don’t wag your tail from side to side...”

”QAQ! Woof woof wooo!!” Cotton’s cries grew even more pathetic. One could only imagine what kind of torture it was suffering at the hands of Left and Right Leaves.

”Lilith! Find a way to break the cage and support Cotton!”

”Chirp!” Lilith’s response was also filled with anxiety.

She used a variety of moves, however, besides some superficial damage to its surface, the Big Flower Spirit Secret Forbidden Room remained fundamentally intact.

A minute later, Lilith still hadn’t broken through the prison, when the prison itself slowly dissipated—

Cotton was lying on the ground, butt in the air, its body bound by vines in an indescribable posture. To top it all off, a radiant daisy bloomed on its backside. It was completely incapacitated.

The audience members were all flabbergasted.

’As expected of Pet Beasts raised by a young couple... It seems they have quite an active private life. Their pets have become so skilled just by being around them...’

Having dealt with Cotton, Left and Right Leaves began to focus their fire on Lilith.

Without Cotton’s powerful support and reliable defense, Lilith finally began to show signs of fatigue while facing two Pet Beasts.

Finally, just as Left Leaf’s Flower Spirit Blade was about to strike Lilith, a flash of silver appeared on the stage. Fang Yuan had recalled Lilith to his Beast Taming Space.

The referee announced the result: ”The winner of the second round of the selection tournament finals is the Vast and Mighty Team!”

This time, the audience’s applause was for the Shanda University Affiliated School.

Fang Yuan walked off the stage, asking through the Beast Taming Space, ”You’re not hurt, are you?”

”Chirp.” Lilith indicated that she was fine.

Fang Yuan let out an almost imperceptible sigh of relief. ”That’s good.”
