Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”My tactical analysis was flawed. I take full responsibility for losing the second round.”

After returning to the team, Fang Yuan said to Su Zhi with his head lowered.

Su Zhi patted his shoulder. ”It’s alright. Winning and losing are temporary. You have to look at the bigger picture.”

Because Lilith had been injured before, Su Zhi had been especially nervous watching the match. When he saw Fang Yuan take the initiative to recall Lilith at the end, he actually breathed a sigh of relief.

’As for poor Cotton, not only did it suffer a brutal beating, it was also twisted into all sorts of poses. Some spectators have already posted pictures of Cotton’s defeat online. It might even go viral...’

Cao Mingyu also patted Fang Yuan’s shoulder, his gaze burning as he said, ”This was a doubles match. Success belongs to both of us, and failure belongs to both of us. However, my dear friend Fang Yuan, your willingness to take the blame has truly moved me. It seems the bond between us is truly inescapable!”

Fang Yuan: ”...If I’d known, I would’ve kept my mouth shut.”

Shao Ya raised her hand, suppressing a laugh. ”Something you can’t escape should be called a calamity...”

Su Zhi patted Fang Yuan’s shoulder, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. ”Alright, putting that last part aside, what Cao Mingyu said makes a lot of sense. Besides, they’re the top school, after all. If we act so self-reproachful over losing one round, wouldn’t that be a kind of mockery toward them in a way?”

Hearing this, Fang Yuan glanced over at the Shanda University Affiliated School team.

Then, the corner of his mouth curled up. ”Actually, that’s exactly what I meant.”

The group froze for a moment, then burst out laughing together. The waiting area for the Huai City Team was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

’It’s rare to see Fang Yuan, who’s usually such a closed book, crack a joke.’ Su Zhi felt even happier than if they had won the match. In his heart, he felt an inexplicable... hmm...

’The pleasure of having raised him?’

In sharp contrast, the Shanda University Affiliated School team, despite having won the match, didn’t seem very excited.

”SQUEAK! SQUEAK!” ”SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK!”

Left and Right Leaves clutched their heads, running in circles around the young couple of Beast Tamers while letting out frantic, mouse-like squeals.

’Damn it! We were so close to hitting Lilith!’

’Just a little bit more!’

’If we, as Wood Element Pet Beasts, had managed to injure the White Flame Battle Spirit, which is famous for its agility, we could have bragged about it like crazy back at school.’

’But in the end, that guy’s Beast Tamer was such a coward. The moment he saw things going south, he immediately recalled his White Flame Battle Spirit to its Beast Taming Space.’

’Now it’s all for nothing. We can’t show off when we get back.’

’It’s even worse than being edged! Hnngh, ahhhh!’

Chen Xinghao covered his ears, a dark expression on his face as he looked at the little couple wrapped around each other and making out. ”Could you two at least recall your Pet Beasts before you start kissing! You’re so damn loud!”

So the two of them recalled their Pet Beasts, and then continued kissing.

Chen Xinghao: ”...”

The rest of the Shanda University Affiliated School team: ”...”

The couple blinked and said in unison, ”Didn’t you tell us to recall our Pet Beasts and then kiss?”

Chen Xinghao: ”...”

’Damn it, if these two weren’t on my own team, I’d beat them to a pulp if I saw them on the tournament stage.’

’Moreover, the reaction from the Huai City First Middle School team wasn’t what I expected. They had clearly lost the match, but they were actually laughing about it. I can even hear them from this far away...’

’Wait, we just beat you by a round, could you at least give us some kind of reaction!’

’Winning, yet feeling worse than if we’d lost... I can’t take it anymore! I just want to punch a hole through the Battle Hall!’

”Forget it. A win is a win. We’re tied now.”

Wang Haokun pushed up his glasses. ”I’m getting ready to go up.”

”Go, Brother Kun!”

”Brother Kun! Let them witness your two-and-a-half years of power as a Beast Tamer!”

”Isn’t our Brother Kun awesome!” the Shanda University Affiliated School group cheered in unison.

”...” Wang Haokun’s mouth twitched as he walked onto the stage.

’Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. But maybe don’t encourage me next time.’

”The third match of the selection tournament finals is about to begin! Will both contestants please come to the stage...”

Su Zhi was the second singles player, which was slightly unexpected for Wang Haokun.

Wang Haokun raised an eyebrow. ”Interesting... Are you planning to use the exact same strategy as in the mock tournament? Even the order of deployment is identical.”

”Right back at you,” Su Zhi said, tucking his hands into his pockets. ”Aren’t you also using the Tian Ji horse racing strategy, just like in the mock tournament?”

Chen Xinghao became anxious. ”Hey!”

”Well now, that’s a bold thing to say.” Wang Haokun chuckled lightly. ”If you can’t take us out in two rounds, then you’ll just have to face the wrath of Brother Ri Tian in the final match.”

Su Zhi didn’t respond directly, instead saying calmly, ”We’ll see after we fight.”

The next moment, a pale blue Light Array, the symbol of an Advanced Beast Tamer, lit up beside Su Zhi. A glittering, golden land-bound chicken strutted out of the Beast Taming Space with a proud catwalk, its head held high!

Su Zhi: ”...”

’Why does that entrance pose look mysteriously similar to Yu Bao’s... But Yu Bao is a dog. Isn’t it a little awkward for you, with only two feet, to walk like that?’

”Holy crap! A Tier Four Beast Taming Space! What an absolute god!”

”God Su, I’m your dog! Hnngh, ahhhh!”

”...Aren’t you the one who was just going crazy over Liu Yuhang?”

”Isn’t this just another form of NTR!”

But when Su Zhi saw Cyan emerge from the Beast Taming Light Array with a genuine catwalk, his expression tightened.

’It’s not Grey Gu, which should theoretically counter Shan Bao? What is Wang Haokun planning?’

Before Su Zhi could think it over, the referee had already given the order: ”Begin the match!”

SWISH SWISH SWISH...

Cyan activated Deep Forest Grip. Countless giant vines erupted from the ground, layering over and covering the stage.

”Shan Bao, dodge them, and watch out for its other tricks,” Su Zhi also commanded.

Shan Bao beat its wings to keep its distance from the vines while continuously harassing Cyan with Golden Feather Flying Blade.

While this Skill couldn’t inflict much damage, it achieved Shan Bao’s goal: to cover the stage with Gold Attribute feathers.
