Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

After dinner, Su Zhi and the other three went back to the rest area to sleep.

Life without cell phones was just that simple and unadorned. Work from sunrise, rest at sunset—it was much simpler and purer. Uh, okay, the bottom of the sea didn’t seem to have sunrises or sunsets...

Shao Ya was taking a walk with Xiaolan near the coral reef.

The corpse of the Abyssal Python had already been cleared away. A huge crater, faintly visible on the seabed, was slowly being smoothed over by sand carried by the currents.

”Hiss.”

Xiaolan nibbled on the corner of Shao Ya’s clothes.

’Big Sister Shao Ya said they have to go back tomorrow.’

’But she didn’t want to be separated from Big Sister Shao Ya...’

”Don’t worry, Xiaolan. All good things must come to an end. Besides, humans and the Fish Dragon Race are allies now. We’ll definitely have a chance to see each other again!”

Shao Ya patted Xiaolan’s head and smiled brightly.

”Speaking of which, I thought your idol was Xue Li. I wonder when you started liking me best instead. Isn’t this a form of NTR?”

”Hiss!”

Xiaolan quickly tried to defend herself.

Xue Li might be beautiful, cool, and powerful, but the suave, dashing, devastatingly handsome Prince of the Forest, big brother Xiaoyue, was her idol too!

”Mrow~” Xiaoyue nodded in satisfaction and patted Xiaolan’s head.

’Not bad. This kid knows how to talk. Much better than that dumb puppy. Follower +1.’

Shao Ya giggled.

”Hiss?” Xiaolan scratched her head again.

’What’s NTR...?’

Shao Ya’s interest was piqued. She sat down next to her and explained, ”Let’s say, for example, that I’m a male Fish Dragon. Then, while your dad isn’t looking, I secretly do... embarrassing things with your mom. That’s NTR...”

”Hiss...” Xiaolan cupped her cheeks, a look of shocked excitement on her face.

Then her eyes suddenly went wide, her expression freezing.

Shao Ya followed her gaze and turned her head, only to see Han Lan, who had appeared behind them at some unknown point. His face was expressionless, and Shao Ya’s smile froze on her face as well.

”Um! I was just giving an example...”

Don’t be nervous. Han Lan laughed heartily. So Miss Shao Ya also understands such a broad and profound term. I’m truly impressed!

Behind Han Lan, Su Zhi and the others had also arrived. ’These guys weren’t tired at all. Every single one of them was bursting with energy...’

Shao Ya let out a pitiful whimper like a puppy’s and quickly covered her face.

’Well, that’s just great. Spouting such vulgar words in front of everyone. My image as a gentle, innocent big sister is completely ruined!’

’Though she never actually had that kind of persona to begin with... Ahem...’

Miss Shao Ya, I have a favor to ask.

Han Lan gave a slight nod. Would you be willing to form a contract with Xiaolan and become her Beast Tamer?

”Hiss!?” Xiaolan blinked in disbelief.

’Her father, who had always been against her sneaking out, was actually making this kind of decision today. It was like a dream.’

Shao Ya was also taken aback, looking at Han Lan in astonishment. ”Lord Clan Leader, why would you suddenly make such a decision? A Pet Beast contract isn’t child’s play. Perhaps you should reconsider...”

Of course. I have already given this much thought.

Han Lan smiled faintly.

The boost a Beast Taming Space provides to a Pet Beast is immense, allowing it to grow several times more efficiently than it would naturally. Compared to staying in the Dragon Palace, seeking a contract with a Beast Tamer will undoubtedly allow Xiaolan to go much further.

My grandfather told me that humans use Pet Beasts as tools. He said they see a powerful Exotic Beast and want to possess it, only to abandon it without hesitation when it gets injured, sick, or old. I have indeed witnessed such things... That is why I used to resent humans and was unwilling to have much contact with them.

But over these past two days, I have watched your every move, and I have been touched. I often reflect on whether my impression of human Beast Tamers was too stereotyped. And I wonder if perhaps, even in the cold Beast Taming World, there are people like you who are willing to replace domination with understanding.

At this, Han Lan looked at Xiaolan with deep meaning.

I have always been against you traveling outside because you were not mature enough. The world outside is not only wonderful, but also dangerous—dangers you were not equipped to handle.

However... I am very happy that you have grown up now.

Xiaolan shuddered and squeezed her eyes shut.

Han Lan smiled meaningfully before turning his gaze back to Shao Ya.

Miss Shao Ya, you possess all the excellent qualities I could hope for. I feel at ease entrusting Xiaolan to you. Xiaolan has also been very attached to you... In truth, you two already share a deep bond, don’t you?

”N-No, not at all!”

Shao Ya said subconsciously, but as she looked at Xiaolan beside her, her gaze softened, as if she were already looking at her own Pet Beast.

’He’s right, though. Their relationship was already like that of a Beast Tamer and a Pet Beast.’

’And she had just awakened her Tier Three Beast Taming Space two days ago... It was as if it was meant for her to form a contract with Xiaolan.’

’Fate had already laid the path. It would be hard to walk away without forming the contract.’

The young woman and Xiaoyue exchanged a glance. She then crouched down in front of Xiaolan and gently placed a hand on her forehead.

A tender green Beast Taming Light slowly began to glow on her body.

”If you let me become your Beast Tamer, I will cherish and nurture you. Xiaolan, are you willing to accept the contract and become my Pet Beast?”

Xiaolan looked into her azure eyes and nodded vigorously. ”Hiss!”

In that instant, the tender green light shot toward Xiaolan’s body, enveloping her.

The next moment, Xiaolan dissolved into motes of green light and vanished, only to reappear within a newly-materialized, tender green Light Array—the contract was formed!

Xiaolan had never felt a connection like this with someone before. She moved her fins in excitement, her eyes sparkling.

Xiaoyue also walked over to her side and gave her a gentle nudge—leaving his scent. From now on, this was his new little follower.
