Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Su Zhi’s eyes widened. He glanced at the sleeping Yu Bao beside him. The first thought that popped into his head was—

’Holy shit, you’re awesome, dude!’

After a moment of shock, Su Zhi quickly typed a follow-up question.

[Su Zhi]: So you’re saying Yu Bao has the potential to awaken the Water Attribute?

[Su Zhi]: In that case, the same principle applies to his previous sensitivity and control over Gold Element Energy.

[Luo Sen: Not bad. You’re learning to connect the dots.]

[Su Zhi]: ...

[Su Zhi]: But isn’t he an Earth and Fire Dual Element Pet Beast? Is that even possible??

[Luo Sen: It’s perfectly reasonable, actually.]

[Luo Sen: Let me ask you a basic knowledge question. What’s another name for the Yu Dian Farm Dog?]

[Su Zhi]: The Yu Dian Yanhuang Dog.

The ”Yan” in its name means Fire, and ”Huang” means Earth. Yanhuang is also another name for Yu Dian, a designation that has existed since the dawn of the Yu Dian civilization.

[Luo Sen: And do you remember the lost final form of the Yu Dian Dog?]

[Su Zhi]: The Yu Dian Emperor Dog, which possesses five Attributes...

[Su Zhi]: Could Yu Bao’s inclination toward multiple Attributes be related to this??

[Luo Sen: I believe so.]

[Luo Sen: In fact, according to the Exotic Beast fossil data compiled by the Divine Strategy Alliance, the Yu Dian Dog likely had more than one Evolutionary Type before the Yu Dian civilization emerged.]

[Su Zhi]: I think I get it now.

[Su Zhi]: As an intermediate stage between the Yu Dian Dog and the Yu Dian Emperor Dog, the Yu Dian Farm Dog might be a combination of the Earth Element and one of the other four Attributes?

[Luo Sen: Correct.]

[Luo Sen: It seems the Yu Dian Yanhuang Dog was the most stable and superior evolutionary path. So, through natural selection, the other three evolutionary paths disappeared before human civilization even emerged.]

[Luo Sen: But all evolutionary paths share the same origin, and they all lead to the same destination.]

[Luo Sen: The Attributes associated with the other Evolutionary Types didn’t vanish completely from the Yu Dian Dog. Instead, they temporarily lost their potential to reawaken, becoming recessive fragments in their genes.]

[Luo Sen: And because of your unique training methods, or perhaps your unique Beast Taming Talent... the other Attributes that had become recessive now have a chance to be expressed again.]

[Su Zhi]: Damn...

[Su Zhi]: I just thought of something. Is there any combat footage or written records of the Yu Dian Emperor Dog?

[Luo Sen: Information storage methods back then were rather primitive, so there’s no primary footage.]

[Luo Sen: There are written records, though. Considering your classical Chinese is probably abysmal, I’ll just send you a simulation based on extrapolations from those records.]

[Su Zhi]: ...

Okay, he had to admit, he had no comeback for that one.

It wasn’t just that Beast Taming High School didn’t specifically teach classical Chinese; even if they had touched on it, he hadn’t really paid attention...

Luo Sen’s video arrived quickly. The moment he opened it, Su Zhi was so stunned he froze on the spot:

The video showed a vast, open desert where five differently colored Light Arrays shined in brilliant interplay.

From the pale yellow Light Array, endless sand and rock walls surged forth, moving mountains and filling seas, instantly reshaping the terrain;

A dark green Light Array spread across the land, unleashing a colossal amount of rampant vegetation that seemed to want to root itself across the entire world;

A deep blue Light Array churned wildly in mid-air, summoning gigantic ocean waves like a mythological flood;

A crimson Light Array weaved across the earth, spouting countless pillars of scorching fire that shot up from the dry ground straight into the high heavens;

A dazzling golden Light Array shot out innumerable sharp blades, glinting coldly, filling the air with a murderous aura like that of divine weapons.

The video was only a dozen seconds long, but Su Zhi watched it twice, feeling completely and utterly shaken.

He had never seen a real Yu Dian Emperor Dog, but the Divine Strategy Alliance’s simulation almost perfectly matched what he had imagined.

Subconsciously, Su Zhi even felt that this was a real Yu Dian Emperor Dog in battle.

Of course, the stunning visual Effects were just the surface. What Su Zhi cared about more were the Skills the Yu Dian Emperor Dog used in the video.

—They were all grand, sweeping Non-Contact Skills, a style that emphasized overwhelming control and offense, the Royal Dao.

It was a completely different style from the ordinary Yu Dian Dog or Yu Dian Farm Dog... and yet, it was mysteriously similar to Yu Bao’s.

’Wasn’t my training plan for Yu Bao all about maxing out his Perception and Intelligence? Wasn’t the main focus non-contact combat?’

’Ah, this...’

At the same time, Yu Bao, who had been watching the video over and over beside him and had also perceived Su Zhi’s thoughts, had his eyes light up.

’So I really do have the makings of a Great Emperor!’

[Luo Sen]: Mm, I trust you’ve noticed something.

[Luo Sen: You might just be the first person to bring the Yu Dian Emperor Dog back into the world.]

[Su Zhi]: Yay!

[Luo Sen: Of course, until you reach Four-star, that’s something you can just dream about.]

[Su Zhi]: Ah...

[Luo Sen: But that’s not to say there’s nothing to be done.

[Su Zhi]: Yay!

[Su Zhi]: Okay, just tell me straight. What should we do?

[Luo Sen: Based on the recent information you’ve provided, the Attribute Yu Bao has awakened to the greatest degree is still the Gold Attribute.

[Luo Sen: The Divine Strategy Alliance’s geological survey indicates that the Hundred Rivers Region might be entering a rare, long dormant period. There won’t be any earthquakes of magnitude four or higher for about a month.]

[Luo Sen: I suggest that after your competition, you seize this window of opportunity. Take Yu Bao to the Hundred Rivers Rift Valley. The Gold Element Energy there is extremely active, which should be very helpful for his Perception of the Gold Attribute.]

[Su Zhi]: Okay, got it. Thanks!

’That big shot Luo Sen is actually pretty nice when he’s not trolling or making fun of me...’ Su Zhi grumbled inwardly as he closed the chat window and switched to a ticket-booking app to buy his tickets.
