Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

In the Battle Hall, the audience watching the broadcast on the big screen was completely silent.

After a long moment of silence, the commentator’s trembling voice broke the stillness:

”Chen... Chen Xinghao’s Pet Beast has lost the ability to battle... In the first round of the team competition, Liu Yuhang is the victor! Su Zhi and His Friends Team scores one point!”

”Yeah!”

”The academic rep is awesome!”

”Brother Yuhang, you truly are the one I strive to follow!”

”...Aren’t you supposed to be chasing Su Zhi?”

”Mhm, my friend Su Zhi is a good person too.”

”Damn, hahaha!”

The Huai City Team pumped their fists in celebration, their laughter echoing through the hall. In stark contrast, the members of the Shanda University Affiliated School were collectively dumbfounded and silent.

Only now did the audience, who had been frozen for a moment, erupt into an uproar:

”A... a one-hit KO?”

”It really was a complete stomp, just... the other way around...”

”Holy hell, that was a Storm Fish Dragon! The so-called hegemon of the ocean couldn’t even last a single round?”

”Yeah, but... what even is Liu Yuhang’s Pet Beast?? Is a Wave-Riding Duck even a thing?”

”I know this one! The Wave-Riding Duck is a branch Evolutionary Type of the Hao Waterfowl. It hadn’t been seen for decades, and the Divine Strategy Alliance only just announced its reappearance a few days ago!”

”So you’re saying... it’s the Pet Beast of the first singles player from Su Zhi’s team!”

”It has to be him!”

”Holy shit! What a beast!!”

”Yuhang, I’m your dog, woof woof ahhhh!”

Amidst the audience’s enthusiastic and ”serious” discussion, the teleportation Light Array lit up, returning both contestants to the stage—

Chen Xinghao’s face was dark. In front of him, Haiya was still on its back, belly up. Its tongue hung out halfway, and its two eyes were spinning in different directions.

”Quack?”

Xue Li circled around it, giving it a poke with her foot.

’Are you kidding me? This is all it took to beat you, quack?’

’Passing out just from drinking some water? This Fish Dragon is so lame.’

”Quack!”

Then, deciding to leave her opponent in peace, Xue Li hopped and skipped back into Liu Yuhang’s arms.

”Great job!” Liu Yuhang adjusted his stance in advance to catch the now several-sizes-larger Xue Li in his arms.

Xue Li’s eyes squinted in delight.

’That Yu Bao is a real bastard, but the show-off moves he taught me are so satisfying!’

Master and pet returned to their team, still in an embrace.

On the other side, once Haiya woke up, Chen Xinghao immediately let him have it.

”This is what you meant by ’leave it to me’? This is what you meant by ’ruling the oceans’?”

”Awooo!” Haiya whimpered, crouching down and covering its head defensively.

’Then you go fight it!’

”I...” Chen Xinghao was at a loss for words.

’To be honest, I didn’t see this coming either. It was supposed to be an evolved form of Hao Waterfowl, but who knew you’d evolve into... whatever that thing is?’

After a moment of silence, Chen Xinghao forced himself to say, ”Your skills just aren’t good enough! I refuse to believe your Clan Leader wouldn’t have won in this situation! We’re doubling your training when we get back!”

Haiya shot him a glare before returning to the Beast Taming Space.

Several of his classmates from the Shanda University Affiliated School came over to console him. ”Brother Ri Tian, just let it go...”

”Don’t let this loss distract you. The important thing is to learn from it and do our best to win the next few rounds.”

Wang Haokun patted his shoulder. ”Actually, back during that long-distance running practice, when Su Zhi left you in the dust, you’d already started seeing him as an equal opponent in your heart. You just weren’t willing to admit it.”

Chen Xinghao pressed his lips together and said nothing. He silently walked back to his team and sat down to compose himself.

As it turned out, the audience wouldn’t dwell on a finished match for too long either.

The moment Liu Yuhang and Chen Xinghao stepped off the stage, everyone’s attention had already shifted to the upcoming second match.

”Didn’t expect Huai City First Middle School to take the first point. As expected of a team that made it to the finals, they’re no slouches!”

”Is that brother from yesterday who said he wanted to ’do’ the Black Fighting Emperor still around? I think you can start looking for a lonely female Black Fighting Emperor now.”

”Speaking of which, bro, are you even big enough? If not, I can get you a custom-made dildo for Pet Beasts on Pinxixi~”

”He probably couldn’t even wear it, right? The Black Fighting Emperor’s... thing... is almost taller than a normal person...”

”Stop talking about such weird stuff! If the Qi Point censors catch this, we’re all in deep trouble!”

The topic was heating up in the audience, but the brother who had boasted about ”doing” the Black Fighting Emperor yesterday remained silent. He had probably run off.

However, the moment the contestants for the next match officially took the stage, the conversation turned serious again.

”It’s the Fang Yuan and Cao Mingyu combo, as expected!”

”I saw the recording of their mock battle. They completely steamrolled the Shanda University Affiliated School’s doubles team.”

”That badass? Then Shanda University Affiliated School is probably screwed in the second round too.”

”Don’t be so sure. Who knows if there’s another twist coming...”

...

On the stage, Fang Yuan calmly sized up the two contestants from the Shanda University Affiliated School.

—He didn’t know what the Shanda University Affiliated School was plotting. The ones they sent out this time were the same young couple who had suffered a crushing defeat at their hands last time.

’What’s the meaning of this? Even if my Pet Beast can’t beat you, I can stuff you to death with PDA?’

’Better not... It’d be easy to provoke the collective wrath of the audience and the readers...’

Both sides were old rivals who knew each other inside and out, so there was no foreplay. They got straight to business.

Cao Mingyu and Fang Yuan were still using Cotton and Lilith. Their opponents were the familiar Left and Right Leaves.

It had been a while, and of course their Real-time Energy Values had also increased quite a bit... huh, wait a minute. Both of them went up by exactly four hundred?

The young couple on the other side smiled in sync and made a heart gesture with their hands.

Fang Yuan: ”...”

Audience: ”...”

”Damn it! I came to watch a match, not to be force-fed PDA! Geneva, give me a refund!”

”Go, Huai City! Absolutely destroy them!”

Cao Mingyu’s eyes, however, were blazing. ”To have such courage, to insist on displaying this forbidden student love in front of everyone. My rivals, you have earned my and Cotton’s respect!”
