Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

When the three words, “I concede,” were uttered by Tang Haofei, the barrier enclosing the outer world instantly disintegrated.

Wen Yu looked up at the sky, only to see the Dominator watching him. There was no joy or sorrow in those eyes, making it impossible for Wen Yu to guess the Dominator’s true intentions.

But from the act of retracting the barrier, it was evident that the Dominator already considered this battle won by Wen Yu.

That’s enough…

The next moment, the Dominator’s figure slowly faded until it disappeared, and Tang Haofei also staggered out of the arena, his destination unknown.

“Sequence Number 1, Wen Yu, congratulations…”

The Golden Armor sent his congratulations, and Wen Yu simply nodded lightly before disappearing in a flash.

…

Back in the lounge, Wen Yu first sent Tang Haofei a message — roughly meaning he felt a bit guilty for tricking Old Tang…

Whether it was sincere or not — having learned from Lin Haifeng for so long, Wen Yu had already learned to conceal his own thoughts, at least from Tang Haofei’s practice level. He could only perceive Wen Yu’s apology as genuine.

“It doesn’t matter. After all, it’s just a matter of the Life and Death Battle Execution.”

A moment later, Old Tang’s reply came back. Wen Yu thought briefly and sent another sentence.

“Don’t press too hard…”

With that, the conversation ended, and Wen Yu dialed Fran’s communication.

…

“That’s how it is.”

From Fran’s words, Wen Yu received the latest intelligence from the District 3 front line.

“Do you need me to take action?”

Wen Yu asked this way, and Fran, too, was not too polite.

“If you can take action, it’s for the best. It would also minimize some losses.”

With millions of Soul Puppets running loose and even more numbers of low-level Demon Tribe, the negative impact of such a situation was indeed too great. Once these Soul Puppets joined forces and attacked the cities of District 3, along with the mutant beast tribes, no one could withstand such an offensive.

In the end, District 3 still had a sparse population and lacked warriors — it was even less than a rear area like District 1 and 2.

Of course, the areas with the greatest defense pressure were District 8 and District 7 — but the spew limit of the Demon Realm’s Gate is capped; as long as Wen Yu sets two barriers in these places, no mishap will occur.

With both Wen Yu and Tang Haofei in the world at Level 8, if there were no internal strife or conflict, the demon plague would not be a concern!

Upon hearing Fran’s suggestion, Wen Yu simply agreed. Then, as if he thought of something, he said to Fran.

“I think Tang Haofei can also play his part.”

“Well… actually, Old Tang is right here by my side.”

Fran said with a wry smile about Tang Haofei’s whereabouts, and Wen Yu suddenly understood.

It turned out that Tang Haofei hurriedly left the arena not to lick his wounds in some corner, but rather directly shifted into the savior mode with “the world as his responsibility.”

Old Tang, this person…

Wen Yu now found it hard to evaluate him.

…

District 3.

Mainland Bloc Number 75461.

A brief Energy Wave flashed by and then quickly died down, leaving the prairie, already thin on life, deathly silent.

Several Soul Puppets stood among a pile of wild boar corpses, licking the blood on the ground, devouring the bodies, and absorbing the Soul Power.

For a micro pig tribe of only a few dozen members, several Soul Puppets equivalent to Peak Level 8 in power were undoubtedly an irresistible force.

At this moment, these Soul Puppets were engaged in a conversation, their Soul Fluctuations being continuously exchanged as if sharing some kind of intelligence. Suddenly, the huge pressure from the sky made them all look up.

In mid-air, a figure shining with lightning stood majestically like Divine Beings, enveloped in terrifying lightning energy.

His vast Perception Ability swept over the entire mainland bloc like a gale, and in just the blink of an eye, the figure in the sky had already located all the enemy Soul Puppets on this mainland bloc.

In total, 35,218.

“Boom!”

The rampaging thunder swept through, leaving no Soul Puppets alive.

…

Tang Haofei’s intervention was a good thing for Wen Yu.

At least, where previously one person handled one mainland bloc per second, it had now doubled to two people handling two mainland blocs per second.

This increase in speed by a factor of two was enough to recover significant losses and preserve the seedlings of warriors given the current situation.

As the Demon Spirit had previously estimated —— such petty means could never bring substantial trouble to the tiered battle ground; this at most counted as an insignificant disturbance.

And disturbances are destined not to last long.

Thus, after Wen Yu and Tang Haofei worked together for a day, the Soul Puppets that had escaped from the main battlefield in District 3 were virtually wiped out.

An outright annihilation wasn’t realistic, as pursuing the utmost speed would inevitably leave some fish slipping through the net. But Wen Yu could already ensure that the remaining Soul Puppets wouldn’t cause significant unrest — and that was enough.

Wen Yu no longer paid much attention to the remaining matters. He sought out Tang Haofei, and together with Old Tang, returned to Yanjing, ignoring the happenings in the tiered battle ground.

As for the numerous Demon Civilian who emerged from District 3, Wen Yu handed them over entirely to Fran.

And Fran’s handling of these Demon Tribe refugees was quite interesting — he didn’t mobilize a large military force. Instead, he issued a war mobilization for the residents of the tiered battle ground.

Under the professionist system, it was a nation of soldiers. Now, letting the residents of the tiered battle ground participate in this encirclement, for one, leveraged the power of the masses, and for another, it injected some vitality into the stagnant tiered battle ground.

After all, with the military having tightly controlled the Demon Realm’s Gate, many believed that the current Earth was peaceful and serene, and war felt too distant from them.

Over the years, the number of qualified soldiers had been decreasing annually, with even the number and quality of Independents decreasing rapidly at a peculiar speed.

Extreme peace and safety brought a weakening of war potential and a diminishing fighting spirit.

This was something that Yanjing’s high authorities did not want to see.

…

The noisy night, air filled with the scent of blood, and he walked leisurely on a mainland bloc in District 3, his eyes shut tight, seemingly listening to every subtle movement around.

Momentarily, he finally captured what he was looking for…

That was a sound of hurried breathing, distinct from a human’s.

With powerful Perception Ability, he could easily discern the additional information woven into the breathing — fatigue, and fear of the unknown.

A sigh escaped his mouth, and then his figure halted, causing the space to ripple. In the blink of an eye, he had arrived at the source of the breathing.

“Who!”

A deep, fear-tinged Demon Realm Language quickly sounded. His breathing halted, and then his hands lit up with a pure white light.

Then, he saw the “miserable” scene before him.

More than a dozen Ancient Demons were cowering in this patch of grass, their clothing tattered, faces withered, severely injured, and expression filled with panic — especially when they saw a Human Race soldier in uniform, emitting a powerful aura, their panic reached its peak.
