Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Philip had seemingly anticipated this ultimate battle for a long time. After sending Legas away, he stood quietly by the window. His not-so-tall figure appeared increasingly hunched at this moment.

In his mind, the mission once given to him by the Demon Lord, who created him, seemed to echo...

”The fate of the Demon Realm is now entrusted to you...”

Philip’s existence bore extraordinary significance for the Demon Palace, and even for the Demon Realm.

While the Demon Lord guarded the Demon Palace and was unable to leave, the Demon Realm required a continuous supply of Origin Energy — Philip had always overseen all external affairs, including establishing the highest council of the Demon Clan Army to serve this purpose.

Without Philip, no one could determine what intentions Demon Spirit held for the continuation of the Demon Realm. Perhaps he would inherit Philip’s mission and continue supplying Origin Energy to the Demon Realm’s Core, or he might repurpose the vast amount of Origin Energy for something else.

Perhaps only a few could understand the significance of this battle for the Demon Realm.

Philip took a deep breath before looking ahead...

In front of him, over eighty streams of light swept in from all directions, halting outside the defense shield of Ostgard. Philip, with sharp eyes, could even spot the ethereal figure of Demon Spirit standing at the center.

When their eyes met, Philip seemed to have already foreseen the outcome of this matter.

He was anxious, conflicted, while Demon Spirit had nothing but resolve.

”Boom!”

In merely four beams, the barrier capable of withstanding the full assault of a Level 10 army for a day and a night instantly shattered. In the next second, Demon Spirit casually waved his hand.

”Kill them all!”

...

At that moment, a calamity descended upon Ostgard.

Eighty experts, even more powerful than typical Level 11 powerful experts, attacked simultaneously. Various streams of energy wildly ravaged the ground; in an instant, the entire defense system of Ostgard was utterly destroyed, the army disbanded, and civilians turned to ash. After that moment passed, all that remained of Ostgard was the ancient castle where Philip stood, along with the thirteen Demon Palace Security Bureau experts behind him and the seven Level 11 powerful experts Philip had personally cultivated.

Aside from Philip, the remaining twenty were all trembling before the Demon Spirits.

They couldn’t fathom the terrifying might of Demon Spirit at full force!

”I’ve already cleared the battlefield, Philip. Now, it’s your turn.”

The voice came from outside the castle, Demon Spirit surrounded by swirling purple-black mist, glided over from afar, stopping merely a window’s distance from Philip.

Behind him, eighty carbon copies hovered, encircling the entire castle so completely that escape was impossible for Philip!

”My lord... we... should escape...”

Behind him, one of the Level 11 powerful experts Philip had groomed spoke, his legs trembling as his nearly five-meter-tall body quaked incessantly, resembling a small quail.

Even the experts from the Security Bureau swallowed hard, casting their gazes toward Philip as if awaiting his command to ”retreat.”

However...

”Run?”

Philip merely snorted coldly.

”You lot, created to clear all obstacles for the Demon Lord, become like this in the face of a mere Demon Spirit. You might as well be dead!”

Upon hearing this, the experts of the Demon Palace Security Bureau were taken aback. After a brief hesitation, they wore determined expressions. However, the seven Demon Tribe members groomed by Philip had puzzled looks, clearly not understanding the meaning behind Philip’s words.

”No time for nonsense with you! You lot, you might as well be dead!”

As soon as these words fell, Philip made his move, not aiming at Demon Spirit, but at his own allies!

...

Philip’s iconic black energy streams surged forth instantly. Countless black energy flows erupted from his back, binding the seven Level 11 powerful experts before they could react to the sudden attack. In a short span, their bodies were drained into shriveled corpses!

In contrast, after acquiring the essence from the seven Level 11 experts, Philip’s complexion turned almost red, and even the scales on his body shone brightly as if coated with oil.

An utterly terrifying devouring ability!

The ultimate display of the pitch-dark type ability at its peak!

Upon witnessing Philip in such a state, even Demon Spirit couldn’t suppress the twitch at the corner of his eye. Watching as the once dead-now-resurrected seven were drained again, all their force transforming entirely into sustenance for Philip, Demon Spirit couldn’t help but step back half a pace...

”You’re afraid? You’re afraid!”

Philip keenly captured Demon Spirit’s subtle retreat. Seeing an instant of retreat from Demon Spirit, Philip’s eyes glinted, the black energy ribbons on his back roared more fiercely. In a flicker, Philip crashed through the castle wall and windows, charging straight at Demon Spirit!

”Boom!”

A dark energy mass nearly ten meters in diameter erupted instantly, enveloping Philip and Demon Spirit. It pulsed and swelled, as if an intensely fierce close-quarters combat was occurring inside.

Yet, Demon Spirit’s carbon copies paid no heed to Philip’s actions. The moment Philip collided with Demon Spirit, over eighty pairs of eyes fixed intently on the thirteen standing Demon Palace Security Bureau experts below, seeing no need for any formality.

The battle erupted in an instant and concluded just as swiftly!

In terms of power or numbers, Demon Spirit’s carbon copies far surpassed the experts of the Security Bureau. After a mere contact, the Security Bureau’s experts completely disintegrated, not a single soul surviving against Demon Spirit’s carbon copies!

”Pop...”

The next second, the black barrier created by Philip instantly dissipated. Holding half a piece of deadwood in his hand, disbelief was written across his face.

”Just a Soul Puppet...”

Oga spoke from afar, his gaze toward Philip laden with a heavy dose of mockery...

”The real Demon Spirit never came... To deal with you, there’s no need for him to act personally! Moreover, our purpose here is more than merely killing you; more importantly, we came to take something from you.”

Having said this, thirteen blood-stained jades floated up from below, landing in Oga’s palm.

”The teleportation jade charms of the Demon Palace, also the identity tokens of the Demon Palace. With them, Demon Spirit can breach the defense system of the Demon Palace. He can even take us and anyone else freely in and out of any level of the Demon Palace! Hehehe... sorry, in our eyes, the first person of the Demon Realm, Philip? You’re not nearly as important as these dead objects!”
