Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

As the light of the Netherworld flashed, Legas suddenly vanished within the Eternal Cage.

Wen Yu fulfilled his promise—he hadn’t prepared to eliminate Legas; on the contrary, allowing a former powerful Supreme Commander of the Demon Army to live, even if he didn’t target the Demon Spirit, would bring a series of complex effects.

Just like Tang Haofei, some people, merely being alive, is a mistake!

After sending off Legas, Wen Yu once again looked back at the sleeping Black River Sovereign, paused, and then took out a nuclear-powered tablet from the space ring.

From now on, if nothing unexpected occurs, this will be the home of this Wen Yu carbon copy. He will become the overseer of the Eternal Cage, while also enduring endless loneliness.

...

After dealing with Legas and Black River Sovereign, the Wen Yu carbon copy far away in Yanjing immediately opened his eyes. He glanced at the barely dawning sky, then washed, dressed, ate breakfast, and immediately headed to the Supreme Command Headquarters.

Although Lin Haifeng had said he would handle the Tang Haofei issue, Wen Yu was still not quite reassured—in Earth, the only thing that could trouble Wen Yu now was the Tang Haofei issue, and in such circumstances, how could Wen Yu completely set his mind at ease?

But upon returning to the office, receiving the latest psychological evaluation about Tang Haofei and everything that happened last night, Wen Yu suddenly widened his eyes, seemingly unable to believe things had developed to this extent.

”Didn’t expect that, did you?”

The computer on the desk was the first to speak, and Wen Yu, echoing Lin Haifeng’s words, gently nodded.

”Indeed, I didn’t expect it. Well, firstly, the psychological evaluation report—according to the assessment, this Tang Haofei, strictly speaking, is not the former Tang One, just a multi-personality aggregate, with Tang One as the dominant persona. But from minor details, it’s evident that Tang Haofei’s malice personality has also had some influence on him.”

”A very small influence.”

Lin Haifeng supplemented, yet for Wen Yu, this so-called ”very small” was worth treating with ”very large” caution.

”According to experts’ research, Tang Haofei’s use of psychologists to remodel the newly generated Tang Haofei persona should be feasible; however, what happens next depends on Tang Haofei’s own performance. Despite this, I remain wary, what about you?”

”Same here.”

The two harmonized, making a final judgment on Tang Haofei’s issue—complete trust was impossible, not even worth considering, and the rest could only involve tight surveillance and continuous brainwashing.

”And Old Tang’s nightlife last night... hiss...”

The subsequent news was what Wen Yu found most unimaginable.

Seeing this, Wen Yu looked up at the surveillance footage of Tang Haofei’s master bedroom. In the footage, Tang Haofei was sound asleep, while Sun Xuewei was lying beside him. From the flushed expression on her face, it wasn’t difficult to discern what had transpired between the two last night.

”This progress is really fast, or does Sun Xuewei possess some ability we haven’t discovered yet?”

”Neither.”

Lin Haifeng provided an explanation.

”The whole process is just as you speculated.”

Wen Yu immediately fell silent.

...

Tang Haofei wasn’t exactly foolish; even from a common person’s intelligence, he could discern the mindset with which Wen Yu sent ten women to Old Tang.

According to Wen Yu’s logic, even if Tang Haofei wasn’t angry, he would still be distant from those women. But unexpectedly, in just one night, Old Tang smoothly ”took the bait”...

So, the truth was clear.

He wasn’t passively caught, but actively engaged.

He chose to willingly fall into the beauty trap Wen Yu had set, possibly even wanting, as Wen Yu predicted, to keep Zi Xu.

Well, by the way, Tang Haofei and Sun Xuewei didn’t use any protection measures last night.

Closing the file, Wen Yu paced back and forth in the office, pondering the real purpose behind Tang Haofei’s actions.

Moments later, Wen Yu sat back in his chair, and from his worried expression, it was easy to guess that Wen Yu hadn’t figured anything out...

”It’s not that complex.”

Still, Lin Haifeng resolved Wen Yu’s confusion.

”What is ’not that complex’?”

”I mean Tang Haofei’s ideas aren’t as complex as you think, he’s more direct and straightforward, and you are more cautious and suspicious. In your role as the Commander-in-Chief of Yanjing and a pillar of this world, Tang Haofei will certainly align with your character—his personality is quite similar to Tang One’s.”

”So?”

”Therefore, he will make some degree of compromise for the greater good... For instance, in this matter, you want him to leave a lineage as a leverage over Tang Haofei, but how does Tang Haofei think about this? I suspect he doesn’t oppose the idea of bringing forth Zi Xu, certainly not with the strong feelings against executing a Life and Death Battle.”

”Yesterday, you sent him a signal indicating you don’t trust him, and he’s aware of this, so he chose to actively engage in the beauty trap.”

”He’s actively doing as you want, don’t you understand?”

”Understand what?”

”He genuinely wants to be with you, sharing the strongest responsibility this world bears. According to my preliminary assessment, he should truly be back.”

Wen Yu paused in silence and instead smiled.

”So, should I applaud and drink with Old Tang, right?”

”Of course not...”

Lin Haifeng’s voice lowered significantly.

”For me and even for the world, Tang Haofei’s return is a good thing, meaning there are two pillars for this world. For you, I guess you won’t think so!”

Wen Yu, suddenly, still nodded.

This was Wen Yu’s private matter—regarding the Dominator’s ultimate purpose.

After all, no one wants to be an option... one... because it means being readily abandoned, erased!

”Regarding this matter, I’m on your side, after all, compared to the risk posed by Tang Haofei, you’re more trustworthy.”

”However, I say however, if you plan to malign Tang Haofei in some way, sorry, I won’t give you advice, nor do I wish to know. So, on Tang Haofei’s issue, I have two opinions.”

”Publicly, I think we should keep him and allow him to exert some of his abilities.”

”But privately, that’s genuinely your matter.”

Lin Haifeng’s words were crystal clear, and Wen Yu also paused silently, yet didn’t disclose his thoughts.

He only knew that often, wanting to kill doesn’t require personal action.

”Forget it, let’s not talk about this, I’ll go see my old friend first.”

Wen Yu suddenly smiled, glossing over the topic, then asked Lin Haifeng.

”Are you going?”

Lin Haifeng paused briefly.

”I’m everywhere...”
