Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Excessive?”

Upon hearing Yankelo’s words, the three Demon Spirits turned simultaneously, dozens of eyes of various sizes fixated on Yankelo, releasing undisguised malice.

”You all...”

At this point, Yankelo also noticed some inconsistencies. He glanced at the Demon Spirits, Oga, Reyes, and then at the silent Philip and the anxious Legas, before speaking after a moment.

”Philip, what exactly is going on here?”

”Let’s reintroduce, this is the Demon Spirit, this is the Demon Spirit, this is also the Demon Spirit...”

Philip pointed at the three individuals, not giving Yankelo any time to think before continuing.

”The Demon Spirit was once the will of the Demon Realm. He has the means to extract the world wills of other realms and integrate them into other members of the Demon Tribe. Now, the Oga, the Reyes you see, and even the former Black River Sovereign, all belong to the planetary will of some planet, and also are a part of the Demon Spirit.”

The massive amount of information left Yankelo gaping in confusion, unable to recover for a while. Meanwhile, Philip did not pay attention to Yankelo’s reaction, instead, he focused intently on the Demon Spirit and spoke solemnly.

”What exactly do you want to do?”

...

”What do I want to do?”

Hearing Philip’s question, the Demon Spirit responded with a question. He seemed to be pondering, then shook his head slightly after a moment.

”This question... I don’t need to tell you, even if I did, it would be meaningless. To speak honestly, if back then you hadn’t got involved in these matters and had Oga deal with Legas directly, it wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

”What do you mean by ’ended up like this’? Exposed your ambitions, your tricks?”

”That’s where you’re wrong. It’s not about exposing my ambitions or tricks; it’s about you digging your own grave! What do I want? Firstly, I want your and Yankelo’s bodies. Are you willing?”

”In your dreams!”

”So you see, originally, I wanted to let you live a little longer, but you saved Legas. Coincidentally, Legas also learned about my truth from... En, it should be from Wen Yu. This forces me to resolve the issue in the most direct way. By the way, Legas, I have a final question for you: where did Wen Yu trap the Black River Sovereign?”

”I don’t know!”

Legas’ face turned stiff. The Demon Spirit’s unreserved declaration of war had determined what was about to happen next. At this moment, Legas was not only anxious but also terrified.

Because the Demon Spirit’s confidence was truly unfathomable!

”Then I have no more questions.”

As the Demon Spirit said this, another video feed began to change.

...

The video window where Yankelo was in shuddered abruptly, as if a violent earthquake had occurred in his location.

He lifted his head, his perception ability sweeping around the surroundings.

Within his sensory range, four exceptionally formidable figures rapidly advanced from four directions. They swiftly breached the city’s defensive network, instantly obliterating any resistance along the way, and in a blink, they barged into Yankelo’s castle!

”Run fast!”

Philip barely managed to utter this one sentence before the four figures in Yankelo’s video screen were already encircling him at the corners.

Yankelo lifted his head, first glancing at Philip, then at the Demon Spirit. The earlier conversation had already provided Yankelo with ample intelligence to digest.

He spat fiercely, revealing an unabashedly fierce light in his eyes.

”Wait for me, once I deal with these four pests, it will be your end!”

To this, the Demon Spirit merely smiled slightly. Following this, a tremendous surge of energy erupted within Yankelo’s video window, instantly breaking the video connection, leaving Yankelo’s screen pitch black.

”What? Aren’t you going to help? Without your help, Yankelo is truly doomed...”

The Demon Spirit chuckled, greeting Philip, while Philip merely shook his head.

”It’s too late, isn’t it?”

The Demon Spirit merely shrugged.

The next second, Yankelo’s video window lit up once more.

Four cloaked figures of varying heights stood behind Yankelo. Yankelo himself remained completely unscathed, still sitting as before, although his eyes revealed a mocking gleam, seemingly explaining what had happened just now.

”He didn’t fall for it.”

”Indeed, Philip’s still quite smart.”

”Perhaps it was just a fluke, or maybe Philip was just timid.”

The Demon Spirit... The four of them mocked Philip mercilessly in the video conference, yet Philip remained silent. He glanced at Yankelo and sighed.

”You were with them all along...”

”Long ago, I had already become a part of the Demon Spirit.”

Yankelo’s tone was unchanged, he merely stated a fact.

The Demon Spirit picked up the conversation.

”Actually, if the incident with the Black River Sovereign hadn’t occurred, after the Black River Sovereign dealt with Legas, I would have inserted another version of myself to replace Legas’ position, but I didn’t expect Legas to have such strong luck.”

”But it doesn’t matter now.”

As he said this, the Demon Spirit waved his hand, pointing to his three other carbon copies.

”Four against one, Philip, surrender and give your body to me. Trust me, by merging with me, you’ll experience an unprecedented greatness!”

”Snap.”

Philip cut off the video connection.

...

After ending the video, Legas’ body began to tremble like a sieve, he shivered all over, drenched in cold sweat, seemingly unable to believe that the Topmost 7-Member Council of the Demon Tribe had five seats occupied by carbon copies of the Demon Spirit!

The playmates he once shared games with had all turned into the same person, and that person now sought to capture his body... This was truly the scariest thing Legas had ever encountered in his life.

Philip merely glanced at his foster son and sighed helplessly.

”What’s there to fear? What are you afraid of?”

”I’m afraid of dying, godfather... this situation...”

Legas waved his hands, seemingly trying to convey that everything around them was Demon Spirit-related, yet Philip simply shook his head gently.

”There’s nothing to fear! The Demon Spirit is merely a clown!”

Upon finishing, Philip switched his tone abruptly.

”Do you know why, despite having such an advantage, the Demon Spirit still acts cautiously and covertly?”

Legas shook his head.

”Because I’m not you! I’m no pushover!”

At this moment, Philip exuded an overwhelming dominance. In this state, Legas seemed to find a backbone next to Philip, quickly regaining composure.

Philip, the foremost figure of the Surface Demon Tribe, had been guiding its direction since the great tribulation, and such a person couldn’t possibly succumb to the Demon Spirit without a fight!

”Then what should we do, godfather?”

”If he wants a fight, then let’s fight! Notify the troops to prepare for battle, and as for us... step this way with me.”

After finishing his words, Philip turned and walked in a certain direction.
