Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Not long after Wen Yu finished his battle encouragement, a grand voice suddenly echoed across the venue accompanied by a flash of golden light from the sky.

“The new Sequence Member-Ranking Battle begins, and the rewards for this ranking battle are as follows…”

Wen Yu immediately recognized the voice as Golden Armor’s—it was still Golden Armor hosting, but Wen Yu believed that the Dominator was silently observing everything that was about to unfold from somewhere unseen.

As Golden Armor announced the rewards for this Sequence Member-Ranking Battle one by one, Wen Yu listened for a while and then lost interest.

Even the rewards for Sequence Number 1 were of little use to Wen Yu.

Once Golden Armor finished speaking, the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle swiftly commenced like a thunderclap.

Of course, the first to take place was the elimination match…

As the words “Elimination Match Begins” came from Golden Armor’s mouth, Wen Yu was still pondering other matters when unexpectedly, a transfer beam enveloped him, and in the next moment, Wen Yu found himself in a completely white space.

“Elimination Match Rules: Kill one Peak Level 8 Demon Tribe…”

The rules were transmitted, and in the next second, a Demon Tribe member suddenly appeared before Wen Yu.

Wen Yu was first taken aback, then he understood.

Currently, Wen Yu was far from being just a Sequence member…

…

When Wen Yu was transported out of the elimination match space, he faced Fran’s friendly mocking.

“Haven’t gone through something like this before, have you?”

Wen Yu also bitterly smiled and shook his head.

“You didn’t see your expression just now; you looked utterly confused. It’s the first time I’ve seen you in this state.”

Fran cheerfully joked with Wen Yu, while the others also fought to suppress their laughter. Wen Yu, helpless, picked up his wine glass, poured some red wine, and then sat back in his seat.

“By the way, where’s Lin Que?”

“He’s in the adjoining box with Moka. I think this time, that kid is going to get his wings clipped a bit…”

Speaking of this topic, Fran’s face carried a mischievous smile. Wen Yu merely shook his head without speaking.

Sequence Number 1, Lin Que…

This time he may have to step back a few positions.

…

The Oath Takers, affiliated with Yanjing but relatively independent in some aspects, exert quite an influence in the tiered battle ground—mainly relying on Lin Que, Sequence Number 1, and Moka, Sequence Number 15. Naturally, they received the treatment of a super large box.

Besides them, there’s the Independents Mutual Aid Federation with similar nature.

This time, Bai has still not appeared on the arena, leading the Independents Mutual Aid Federation is Wen Yu’s eye—Akad.

However, Akad’s longtime rival—Vincent—remains employed in the military and is doing quite well. To accommodate his subordinates’ sentiments, Wen Yu hasn’t met with Akad.

Yet, the Independents Mutual Aid Federation barely has a few members, so it’s not of much concern.

After casually inquiring Fran about the situation of the Oath Takers and Independents Mutual Aid Federation, the second elimination match started again—everything was quite similar to the former Sequence Member-Ranking Battles, and Wen Yu tackled these cumbersome procedures until several hours passed. When the main venue was left with only a few thousand people, the true Sequence Member-Ranking Battle finally unfolded.

“Ranking Battle Rules are as follows…”

Golden Armor pronounced the ranking battle rules for the Nth time, while Wen Yu listened and received a list from Fran.

“These are your ranking routes, directly battle up to Sequence Number 2, then challenge Lin Que, take Sequence Number 1.”

Indeed, in the current Yanjing this kind of thing can already be pre-arranged.

And Wen Yu, not inclined to be pretentious, briefly glanced at the list and immediately challenged Sequence Number 92.

…

With a flash of transfer light, Wen Yu was once again standing in the grand arena of the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle…

As if standing in the center of the stage, enjoying the attention of millions, Wen Yu took a deep breath and then looked across.

On the opposite side, a skilled military member wearing a Yanjing fighter’s robe first respectfully saluted Wen Yu, then decisively chose to concede.

Thus, Wen Yu hardly enjoyed the moment before returning to the box again.

“Feels… sigh… lacking the passion and excitement of before…”

Wen Yu simply lamented, and Fran opened up with a bitter smile.

“For you it’s passion, for your opponents it’s excitement. With the strength you exhibited before and your current status, even without prior arrangements, no one wants to face you on the stage in a duel.”

“Except for below that fellow…”

Fran pointed out, then pouted.

Below, Tang Haofei and Sequence Number 94 stood on the stage, facing each other.

“I concede…”

Three words rang out, the battle ended…

The Sequence represents those few standing at the pinnacle of the Human Race; they’re well-informed and naturally know who can be provoked and who can’t. Why seek unnecessary trouble when everyone can get along?

Seeing this, Wen Yu lost interest in watching the battle, turned his head to Fran, and remarked.

“About the Demon Realm’s Gate…”

“The army is prepared, alongside mobilized Independents and mutant creatures, the Soul Puppet Legion, and more. We’re not afraid of the Demon Tribe coming; we’re afraid they won’t.”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu nodded.

“Arrange it as you see fit, let me know when you need my intervention.”

…

The waiting didn’t last too long.

As Wen Yu successfully reached Sequence Number 53, new intelligence arrived from the frontlines.

“Demon Realm’s Gate began spewing Demon Fiends, the rate reached its peak, but we don’t know how much force they have behind them. Moreover, as you said, they’re not warriors, but refugees, lacking robust fighting will—they just aim to break through our encirclement.”

“Kill them all!”

For these Demon Bastards, Wen Yu didn’t care whether they were refugees or warriors; humans and demons inherently stand apart, that’s the consensus!

Fran, hearing this, also refrained from mercy. He sat beside Wen Yu, rapidly transmitting commands via electronic devices.

All seemed peaceful.

Yet Wen Yu suddenly spoke.

“Be cautious.”

“What’s wrong?”

Fran asked in confusion, and Wen Yu just pointed above.

“Demon Spirit’s carbon copy, Protector Number 2 is right next to Golden Armor; all our information, Demon Spirit can know. I suspect he might have another trick up his sleeve this time.”

Fran nodded, and his hands moved even faster.

…

In the sky, Number 2 stood beside Golden Armor, his gaze fixed on the stage, yet his peripheral vision constantly swept towards Wen Yu.

He was waiting, waiting for a certain moment…

Even if the plan succeeds, it would only cause minor trouble for Wen Yu, or this world. But for Number 2 and even Oga, this is indeed the best way to retaliate against Wen Yu.
