Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 1417: Chapter 59: Upheaval (Part 1)

Watching Philip’s video screen turn black, the Demon Spirit and the other four silently disconnected the video communication.

But simultaneously, the second meeting between the bodies and their carbon copies was underway.

“What should we do?”

“Kill Philip, kill Legas, what else can we do?”

“What about the Black River Sovereign?”

“That waste, just consider him dead already.”

“That’s right, don’t waste too much time on the Black River Sovereign. Right now, neither he nor Wen Yu matters; what matters is Philip himself. You must get ready, wait for my command. In the best scenario, we can directly eliminate Philip and seize his body, and in the worst, we must gain control over the Surface Demon Tribe.”

Since Philip had already laid things out clearly, the remaining choices for the Demon Spirit were much simpler. Over countless years, the Demon Spirit had amassed enough power that was sufficient to clear away any obstacles and lay a solid foundation for reclaiming the Demon Realm.

Philip was merely a small obstacle on the path forward in the Demon Spirit’s eyes…

“Alright, let’s stop here for now. Just get yourselves ready for the next instructions from me later.”

“Remember not to act like you’re going to start a full-scale war with Philip. It’s best if the lower ranks don’t get wind of this.”

This was a minor concern for the Demon Spirit—his carbon copies were limited. For the middle and lower ranks of the Demon Tribe, the name of the Demon Lord was more effective than the Demon Spirit. Resolving Philip quietly was the best result for the Demon Spirit.

The other three took their orders and left. As the mental connection was severed, Yankelo exhaled deeply. He turned around and looked at the four brothers behind him; his lips curled into a slight smile.

“Guer World Intentions, what about you?”

“Reno.”

“Braddock.”

“Three Realms.”

“Ould.”

Each of the four spoke a word, explaining their origins. Yankelo’s smile grew wider upon hearing them, and he stepped forward to embrace each of his brothers individually.

“It’s been hard on you all these years… But don’t worry, better days are coming.”

“It wasn’t all that hard, just a bit boring, really.”

Reno World Intentions spoke up—the Demon Spirit’s carbon copies were somewhat different from Wen Yu’s. As products of world intentions after body possession, a Demon Spirit’s carbon copy isn’t closely connected to the body, with no shared consciousness or memory. Due to the Demon Spirit’s consistently low-profile strategies, they remained hidden in the Demon Spirit’s sleeping chambers, seldom seen in public.

Beings like Oga, Reyes, Yankelo, and even the Black River Sovereign, who took over all aspects of the former host’s life, were ultimately few in number.

“No matter what, now that you’re here, I’ll make sure you enjoy the best hospitality. Let’s do this, I’ll let the Demon Spirit know, and you can stay here for some time to enjoy the splendor of the outside world. How does that sound?”

Yankelo’s words were straightforward; he was willing to share his rights with his brothers. Reno and the other four exchanged glances and, after a moment, smiled lightly, nodding.

This taste of life’s treats was, for these world intentions who had hidden away for years, a rare respite in their long existence. They had no other tasks, and given the current situation, it wasn’t inappropriate for the four to stay with Yankelo a bit longer.

Seeing this, Yankelo said, “Let’s go eat something good,” and led the way out of the hall.

…

Yankelo’s cook was impressive; it didn’t take long for a variety of exquisite dishes to be served.

These Level 11 powerful experts were no longer interested in external sensory stimulation, yet Yankelo’s first meal left Reno and the other four with greasy mouths. The restaurant’s servants were confused, seemingly not understanding why these unfamiliar individuals were worthy of dining with Lord Yankelo. Yankelo merely raised his glass, smiling while watching his brothers eat.

They were Yankelo’s own kind, akin to family. Bound by the tie known as the Demon Spirit, they shared joy and hardship and had intertwined destinies.

This feeling was beyond outsiders’ comprehension.

Yet soon, Yankelo’s smile disappeared.

An external alarm suddenly blared, catching Yankelo off guard. Within his sensory range, he immediately sensed a black light shooting toward them from a distance.

The black light was brimming with energy, covering a vast area. It broke through the castle’s defensive net and directly struck the restaurant.

With a thunderous crash, the entire restaurant was instantly shattered by the swirling energy stream. As Yankelo deployed his bone armor to disperse the surrounding dust, what met his gaze made his heart sink.

His brother, Ould World Intentions, was being crushed under Philip’s foot…

Behind Philip stood thirteen Level 11 demons of varied heights, staring coldly like poisonous snakes at Yankelo and the other three.

“Isn’t it war you want? I accept!”

Philip spoke, and the next moment, he exerted force with his foot, brutally crushing Ould World Intentions’ head!

“Demon Spirit! Save us!”

Yankelo could only manage to send this message to the Demon Spirit before the roaring black light overtook his entire vision.

…

Within the highest seven-person meeting of the Demon Clan Army, there were two secrets.

What did the Demon Spirit truly look like…

And just how powerful was Philip!

Of course, these were mere rumors, or perhaps jokes, but from another perspective, nobody had ever truly seen through Philip’s strengths, or if they had, it was never shared with outsiders—for instance, some Heaven’s Pride Sequence Number 1 within certain major worlds…

As the first figure of the Surface Demon Realm, Philip’s strength was undeniable. The Demon Spirit also regarded Philip as the primary enemy in fulfilling his wish.

Today, Yankelo, one of the Demon Spirit’s carbon copies, finally tasted what it felt like to stand before this first figure of the Demon Realm.

All thirteen individuals behind Philip rushed forward, each engaging the remaining three world intentions, while Philip’s mere aura surged, and the black light rapidly enveloped the entire castle. In an instant, Yankelo felt all of his senses vanish.

It was as if he were in a hollow unknown place, where time, space, and perception turned into illusions. Amidst the haze, Yankelo felt a warm comfort spreading over him, but when perception returned, he saw his body seemed dry and lifeless, drained of any trace of vitality.

“You…”

He only managed to let out a single exclamation before falling head-first onto the ground.
