Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”My lord.”

The Drunken Taoist stepped forward two steps, a look of indescribable caution and respect on his face.

”Here’s the situation. According to my investigation, the wraith of the Almighty Immortal Emperor, along with Sequence Number 2, entered the Heavenly Palace Treasure Land and reaped immense benefits along the way. During this, there might have been an unspeakable deal or conspiracy between the Almighty Immortal Emperor and the Demon Lord, aimed at revealing your true purpose to Sequence Number 2, thereby setting a backup plan for the Demon Lord.”

”So you’re saying this person is the backup plan of the Almighty Immortal Emperor and the Demon Lord?”

The Drunken Taoist was silent for a moment, then nodded gently, ”That’s correct.”

The Dominator’s face remained expressionless, revealing no emotions. He then turned his head and looked toward the Golden Armor.

”Well then, tell me, what have you discovered...”

...

”Here’s what I found: The deal between the Almighty Immortal Emperor and the Demon Lord was to have the Heavenly Dao replace Wen Yu and reappear on Earth. My lord, forgive me for my inability, but I couldn’t find out more specifics about their cooperation. However, when the Heavenly Dao tried to possess Sequence Number 2, I intervened and joined forces with another Level 11 powerful expert from the Universe of Immortals and Heroes—Bai—to slay the Heavenly Dao. Bai also perished as a result.”

”According to my speculation, Sequence Number 2 is not the Demon Lord’s backup plan. He seems to be a victim himself.”

The Dominator nodded, ”So according to you, this guy is innocent?”

The Golden Armor hesitated for a moment, then gently nodded.

”Then tell me how he acquired all those soul-based abilities and a Soul Body that’s mastered the essence of skills?”

”It must be due to luck, or perhaps the Almighty Immortal Emperor taught Sequence Number 2 to lay a better foundation for the Heavenly Dao.”

Hearing the Golden Armor’s words, the Dominator nodded in contemplation.

The entire situation started to weave together into a picture in the Dominator’s mind.

...

The Almighty Immortal Emperor deceived Wen Yu into entering the Heavenly Palace Treasure Land. The ultimate goal was for the Heavenly Dao, his own son, to gain a second life—this was made clear from Wen Yu’s memories and the Golden Armor’s words.

Then, after returning to Earth, the Heavenly Dao would do something to accomplish the Demon Lord’s purpose.

This should have been the entire plan between the Demon Lord and the Almighty Immortal Emperor.

However, during the possession, things changed.

The possession by the Heavenly Dao was interrupted by the Golden Armor, failed, and then the Heavenly Dao was slain. The Almighty Immortal Emperor took advantage of this and brought Wen Yu to the Eleventh Floor of the Heavenly Palace, intending to show Wen Yu his true purpose. Meanwhile, the wraith of the Almighty Immortal Emperor remained within the Almighty Demon Vine, partly to survive, but also possibly to influence Sequence Number 2’s choices, waiting for the future to cause some trouble for himself.

Who knew the Demon Lord didn’t completely trap himself, which led to the current scenario.

Thinking of this, the Dominator carefully examined Wen Yu struggling on the ground, as well as his two subordinates beside him.

”Why...”

The words mysteriously came out from the Dominator’s mouth.

”My lord.”

The Golden Armor stepped forward, while the Drunken Taoist slowly retreated.

”Why betray me?”

A simple test caused the Dominator’s gaze to turn utterly cold.

As soon as the words fell, the Drunken Taoist’s body turned into a shadow, shooting rapidly towards the distance!

...

”Come back!”

A roar burst forth from the Dominator’s mouth, and in an instant, the world turned upside down.

The Drunken Taoist shooting into the distance, as if truly intoxicated, couldn’t discern direction mid-air. In just 2 seconds, the seemingly erratically turning Drunken Taoist ended up directly in front of the Dominator and was grabbed by the neck.

”Why betray me...”

The Dominator asked his question again, his tone low.

”Heh heh heh, ha ha ha...”

The laughter of the Drunken Taoist grew from small to large, gradually turning into hysterical laughter.

”Why?”

On the Drunken Taoist’s body, runes visible to the naked eye slowly emerged, and an astonishingly unstable aura arose from his body. Simultaneously, his body visibly swelled.

”Why don’t you have a clue yourself? What did you promise us back then? You promised us that you would leave the last spark for the Universe of Immortals and Heroes!”

”I brought 12,781 Level 10 Breakthrough Achievers to join you, thinking we could at least eke out survival under your command. And what did you do!!!”

”You made us slaughter each other, you made us consume the flesh and blood of our kind, you turned us into Cannibals! Just to satisfy your desire to collect Level 11 magic crystals!”

The Drunken Taoist’s face grew more and more ferocious, his aura’s fluctuations more and more intense. However, facing this Level 11 super Human Bomb, neither the Dominator nor the Golden Armor showed any change in expression, and even Wen Yu, writhing in intense pain on the ground, was drawn to the Drunken Taoist’s words and slowly lifted his head to watch the drama unfold beside him.

”Golden Armor, you haven’t forgotten how you came by your Level 11 power, have you? Is Level 11 power strong? Does the flesh and blood of peers taste good? Don’t you feel any guilt?”

”Enough...”

The Dominator’s deep voice sounded, looking at the Drunken Taoist as if he were a dying stray dog.

”Heh heh heh... never enough... Dominator, I curse you, I curse you to die a horrible death!!!”

”Bang!”

The sky filled with exploded flesh, the super bomb made from a Level 11 powerful expert’s lifetime of strength, seemed like nothing more than a joke in the Dominator’s hand. The explosive shockwave, effortlessly manipulated in the Dominator’s hands, could not escape his grasp, until every flying piece of flesh was kneaded into a ball by him...

Lightly extending his fingers, the Dominator used them like chopsticks to pierce into the mass of flesh, and shortly after, a crystal-clear pearl was extracted from it.

The lustrous pearl emitted a gentle glow, yet under this light, even Wen Yu, caught in excruciating pain, felt a deep sense of unease—the so-called Treasure Land Protectors, these so-called Level 11 powerful experts, were merely vessels for the Dominator to cultivate Level 11 magic crystals...

”Phew...”

Having done this, the Dominator sighed deeply, then turned his gaze intently upon the face of the Golden Armor.

”Do you hate?”

”No hatred, my lord. My lord granted me power and saved my life. Everything I have is thanks to my lord!”

The Golden Armor’s reply, forged with determination, left no room for blame.

The Dominator nodded gently, as if unconcerned with the truth of the Golden Armor’s words, and then shifted his gaze to Wen Yu.

”How should I deal with you...”
