Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The old man and one of Luo Hai’s team members disappeared simultaneously, causing no significant stir.

Using Dimensional Maze to trap the old man was Luo Hai’s plan all along. The kid wasn’t scared either; he knew the old man’s strength perfectly and was convinced that no one on this battlefield could defeat the old man in a one-on-one fight.

So, the sudden absence of the two didn’t cause the slightest pause in the remaining six. On the contrary, as their numbers diminished, the intensity of the fight instantly increased by a significant margin!

BUZZ...

Like ripples on water, a wave spread out from the air, expanding swiftly in all directions.

The peculiar power it contained made Wen Yu’s body feel loaded with countless weights, instantly causing him to slow down sluggishly.

Thunder and orange-red flames descended from the sky like a celestial tribulation. The astonishing lethality they contained forced Wen Yu to use various defense tools from his space ring to withstand the nearly omnipresent attacks.

This continued until a shout echoed from nearby.

”HAH!”

The shout, imbued with a child’s voice, carried a strange magical quality. The moment the sound reached Wen Yu’s ears, it threw his mental world into turmoil. His very Soul seemed to be peeling away, and he even lost control of his limbs!

”Wen Yu, run!”

In a daze, Wen Yu thought he heard Tang Haofei’s voice. He barely managed to raise his right hand, and the power of the Netherworld instantly gathered. The next second, Wen Yu had teleported a kilometer away from the battlefield.

Where Wen Yu had been standing, a colossal, pure-white energy fist descended from the sky, instantly blasting a large crater into the ground!

Panting heavily, Wen Yu stood a short distance from the main battlefield, cold sweat from his forehead trickling into his eyes.

Only now did Wen Yu realize an even more serious problem. With his main combat skills sealed, his level at only five, and his physical attributes merely around 16,000 points, he was on a battlefield swarming with Level 7 Elites from the Universe of Immortals and Heroes. His meager strength couldn’t even withstand the shockwaves of their battle! Just moments ago, he had nearly been flattened by the Area of Effect (AOE) skills of several combatants!

Gazing at the five differently colored figures drifting within the smoke and dust, Wen Yu’s vision blurred. How can I possibly fight this? He couldn’t even clearly see the movements or forms of the five combatants! The sheer disparity in strength left Wen Yu with no way to counter their attacks!

It wasn’t until a figure, gleaming with white light from head to toe, transitioned from motion to stillness—standing where Wen Yu had just vanished—that Wen Yu snapped back to his senses, his eyes fixed on Luo Hai without blinking.

”TSK TSK TSK... Your Highness the Young Master, why did you run off like that...”

The mocking tone and disdainful expression would have infuriated anyone else, greatly injuring their self-esteem.

However, in Wen Yu’s eyes, pride was something best discarded at times like these...

Clicking his tongue, Wen Yu wiped the blood seeping from his nose and mouth, replying in a hoarse voice, ”Do I need to report my actions to you?”

”Indeed, there’s no need!”

A faint smile lingered on Luo Hai’s face as he slowly approached Wen Yu.

To Luo Hai, the ripple-like airwaves were like a gentle breeze, causing him no obstruction or harm whatsoever.

The descending thunder and orange-red flames dissipated the instant they touched Luo Hai’s body, like snowflakes meeting the sun.

Even the kid’s continuous fierce shouts, upon reaching Luo Hai’s ears, sounded like lovers’ whispers, causing him no harm at all.

His Cultivation Technique; the five skills remaining after excluding Heaven’s Sealing; his status as a divine beast of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes; an incredibly powerful physique; and the various items from his space ring... Even though Wen Yu already knew Luo Hai was far from weak, Luo Hai’s current display still made his heart sink.

The gap is too enormous...

Watching Luo Hai slowly advance, seemingly to pressure him, Wen Yu quickly downed a handful of elixir pills to restore his stamina and heal his injuries, simultaneously scanning the entire battlefield.

The kid was locked in a high-speed battle with one of Luo Hai’s team members. Superficially, it seemed an even match. In Wen Yu’s eyes, however, their rapid movements created a blur of afterimages, making it impossible for him to discern the details of their fight.

Meanwhile, Tang Haofei was under pressure from the third strongest member of Luo Hai’s squad. And this time, there was no trump card from Wen Yu’s Soul Battlefield, nor Fatty deliberately holding back due to his death wish. Barring any surprises, Tang Haofei wouldn’t last much longer...

Three minutes? Five minutes? Who knows...

And all that remained were Wen Yu and Luo Hai. Without external aid or his ultimate weapon, the Soul Battlefield, the disparity in their strengths was glaringly obvious!

The dire situation made Wen Yu’s heart turn bitter. Despite all his calculations and attempts to control the battlefield, he now faced a problem he had never encountered before: a sheer disparity in raw strength.

However, thinking of his five sealed skills, a flicker of determination flashed in Wen Yu’s eyes.

He gently raised his Dual Guns and rapidly pulled the triggers.

The crisp THUD THUD of Palpitation and the deep BOOM BOOM of Mad Medley’s shots echoed continuously.

Some battles must be fought, even if victory is impossible...

Seeing Wen Yu’s reaction, the smirk on Luo Hai’s lips widened.

If Wen Yu ignored his skills and turned to flee, Luo Hai would be in a difficult position—the mission would be incomplete, and his own Heaven’s Sealing would remain sealed.

But now, since Wen Yu appeared determined to fight to the death...

Then let me be the one to send you on your way!

With this thought, Luo Hai pushed off with his feet, transforming into a white beam of light that shot straight towards Wen Yu!

「...」

The energy bullets from Palpitation and Mad Medley struck Luo Hai’s body and instantly disintegrated—attacks of this level couldn’t even penetrate his external defenses!

Similarly, the weapon effects of Palpitation and Mad Medley had no room to activate.

The white light tore through Wen Yu’s curtain of gunfire in an instant. The next second, a colossal white fist of light descended from the sky, only to strike empty air.

Luo Hai remarked nonchalantly, ”So, you see, your Netherworld skill really is a bit of a cheat...”

Sensing the skill fluctuations nearby, he then moved like a great bird, instantly arriving at Wen Yu’s new teleportation point from Netherworld and throwing another punch!

Netherworld’s short-distance instantaneous movement was only a fraction faster than Luo Hai’s speed...
