Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Early the next morning, Wen Yu got up and immediately went to Tang Haofei’s room to check on Old Tang’s condition.

Yesterday, Tang Haofei’s state was honestly not good.

Opening the door, Wen Yu saw Tang Haofei lying on the bed, snoring deeply.

Perhaps the sound of the door opening was a bit loud, for the deeply asleep Tang Haofei’s body trembled slightly, and he immediately opened his eyes.

”Whew, you scared me. I wondered who it was.”

Tang Haofei looked much better, with his usual smile on his face. In the state of soul perception, Wen Yu clearly felt the strange weakness in Tang Haofei’s soul had completely recovered.

”All good now?”

”Hmm.”

Tang Haofei nodded: ”Just too tired. I had a good sleep yesterday, and now I feel much better.”

Tang Haofei couldn’t remember last night’s dreamland at all.

Seeing this, Wen Yu didn’t think much more — how could Wen Yu know the strange changes happening to Tang Haofei? After a simple scan of Tang Haofei’s physical condition, Wen Yu waved at Tang Haofei.

”Let’s go, breakfast.”

…

During breakfast, Wen Yu kept observing Tang Haofei, until breakfast ended, and only then did Wen Yu feel completely at ease.

Tang Haofei’s condition was fine; whether it was appearance, sound, or demeanor, everything was exactly as before. Seeing this, yesterday’s strange state of Tang Haofei was directly thrown to the back of Wen Yu’s mind.

After breakfast, Wen Yu and Tang Haofei sat in a small living room, talking about things that happened yesterday. In the end, it was just some trivial matters, discussing nothing useful, until the Demon Lord leisurely walked in from afar.

…

”Yo, had a good rest yesterday?”

The Demon Lord greeted Wen Yu and Tang Haofei with a beaming smile, then casually found a chair to sit down.

”Not bad, this place isn’t bad. Oh, by the way, I haven’t thanked the senior for yesterday yet.”

Tang Haofei, completely different from yesterday’s lethargic state, said with a face full of smiles.

The Demon Lord’s expression remained unchanged, taking a look at Tang Haofei not far away, then at the silent Wen Yu, a barely audible sigh escaped his lips, and then the topic shifted directly to the issue of the Heavenly Dao.

”Yesterday, Bai went out to search for traces of the Heavenly Dao; the Heavenly Dao already knows we’re here and is currently dealing with some matters. It won’t take long, and then it’ll be coming for us.”

Wen Yu raised an eyebrow, quietly waiting for the Demon Lord to continue.

”You might not know, but the Heavenly Dao is going crazy up there. Loads of Level 10 limit breakthrough demon spawn are trying to obstruct the Heavenly Dao’s actions, but it’s of no use. The Heavenly Dao is fighting its way down from the tenth floor of the Heavenly Palace, and has already reached the ninth floor. Tsk tsk tsk… the fighting up there is quite tragic...”

”Can’t be stopped?”

”Can’t be stopped… those demon fiends are too weak, and there aren’t enough of them. I reckon by later today, the Level 10 limit breakthrough demon spawn in the Heavenly Palace will be completely cleared by the Heavenly Dao, and then the Heavenly Dao will be just a step away from us.”

After giving Wen Yu a little scare, the Demon Lord spoke again.

”However, Bai is ready. The pre-arranged battlefield is right above us, and the ultimate formation treasures have been brought out by Bai. Today, you both just stay here; I guess by tonight, this matter will be resolved.”

The Demon Lord meant that these two young ones shouldn’t join in the commotion of two Level 11 powerful experts.

Wen Yu, although not very shrewd, wasn’t foolish either. He immediately picked up on the implication in the Demon Lord’s words and decisively nodded.

The Demon Lord finished speaking, glanced at Tang Haofei who was stuffing food into his mouth, and decisively stood up.

”You two just wait here; if there’s any situation, I’ll come to inform you.”

After saying this, the Demon Lord immediately left.

…

The waiting process was somewhat prolonged, but fortunately, Wen Yu and Tang Haofei had reached a level of strength by today where they weren’t lacking in patience, and whatever curiosity they had was deeply buried in their hearts.

Knowing well how spectacular a confrontation between two Level 11 powerful experts could be, the disparity in power was evident at a glance. Even though the thought of wanting to watch the battle between the Heavenly Dao and Bai arose, it was swiftly snuffed out as soon as it appeared.

Until after lunch, in a daze, Wen Yu only felt the air seemingly solidify for a moment. Then, it seemed like a thin mist pervaded the air before him. An icy touch grazed his skin, making Wen Yu shiver, and at the same time, a faint pressure instantly enveloped the seventh floor of the Tiangong.

”It’s coming.”

Tang Haofei, in a serious tone, looked upward. His robust physique heightened his perception ability intensely, and vaguely, Tang Haofei seemed to sense a shadow emitting a terrifying aura slowly descending from the sky above. Every move it made seemed to manipulate the rules of the world, and even a simple step gave off the feeling of the sky collapsing.

Another fluctuation in energy also slowly spread out, and Tang Haofei could even feel the astonishing energy waves contained within, as well as the endless, ghostly wailing-like eerie sounds...

An abrupt thought arose from Tang Haofei’s heart: ”If I died six more times, could I reach such a level?”

There might be hope…

…

”It’s coming...”

Almost simultaneously, Wen Yu also felt the shocking aura above his head.

However, in the state of soul perception, Wen Yu’s perception perspective was slightly different from Tang Haofei’s.

Above, the two dim and lusterless soul bodies were wantonly unleashing fearful energy streams, incredible power capable of overturning the sky, which nonetheless couldn’t conceal the weakness in their souls.

This must be the price of resurrection...

Wen Yu thought this.

Then, a thought spread from Wen Yu’s heart—if he seized the opportunity to release the Soul Battlefield, could he eliminate these fragmented Level 11 powerful experts?

After a simple consideration, Wen Yu directly suppressed this dangerous idea in the bottom of his heart.

Theoretically, this tactic was absolutely feasible; however, practically speaking, once he perceived the Level 11 powerful experts, they would also perceive him, and then...

Wen Yu assumed that his speed was by no means faster than the Heavenly Dao.

Chaotic thoughts flashed through Wen Yu’s mind briefly, and the next moment, endless light filled the soul perception view. Vaguely, Wen Yu seemed to see two dim soul bodies directly colliding.

Then...

”Boom!”

The entire Ba Ji Demon Palace branch shook and trembled instantly. A large amount of debris fell from the sky, and the intense tremor instantly turned the hall where Wen Yu was into ruins.
