Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

However, that was not the point. Recalling the voice in his mind, Wen Yu reacted quickly, his Perception Ability rushing directly into his Soul Body.

The next second, Wen Yu’s physical body in the outside world opened its eyes. Everything was the same as before. However, because he opened his eyes, his soul pets in the outside world looked at him with confusion.

Did nothing happen?

Just as he thought this, a tremendous force struck his body again. The next second, Wen Yu’s Perception Ability once again saw his Soul Body.

”You’re lacking in strength. Instead of hurrying to learn some useful things, you’re always paranoid that someone is out to get you. Who did you learn that from?”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu fell silent.

The young man’s voice came again. ”Use your will to manipulate your Soul Body and try to perceive the outside world with your Soul Body!”

”You—”

THUMP.

With a muffled sound, Wen Yu felt his will oscillate violently, a wave of nausea washing over him as if he were carsick.

”No more nonsense.”

”This is so damn...”

THUMP.

The process of manipulating the Soul Body with his will was not difficult. As soon as Wen Yu’s thought formed, the Soul Body in front of him opened its eyes.

The next moment, a tremendous suction force emerged from his Soul Body, instantly drawing his will into it.

Wen Yu’s physical body in the outside world slowly opened its eyes, and everything before him had completely changed.

Within his perception, the giant sphere of light had transformed into a Sun devoid of temperature. Thankfully, his Perception Ability did not rely on eyes. The immense energy, highly compressed within the sphere of light, was now clearly visible to Wen Yu—it was Soul Energy. It was only because it had been overly compressed, the energy too concentrated, that he had previously been unable to see the energy within the sphere.

The Perception Ability of his Soul Body spread out once more. The next moment, Wen Yu saw his soul pets lying on the ground. Soul Energy of varying colors radiated from their bodies: Cyclops’s was the weakest, Victor’s the strongest, and Faceless had none. Not far away was the young man’s physical body, sitting cross-legged. Standing right beside Wen Yu was the young man’s Soul Body, emanating a terrifying white light.

Swallowing hard, Wen Yu raised his hands and made a respectful gesture towards the young man’s Soul Body nearby. ”Thank you for your teachings, Senior.”

It was clear that this man, with his Soul Leave Body ability and terrifyingly potent Soul Power, was absolutely not someone he could afford to offend!

The young man, however, waved his hand dismissively, looking at Wen Yu with disdain. ”You really are quite dense.”

Wen Yu gave a bitter smile.

”Using your Soul Body’s Perception Ability isn’t much different from normal sensory perception,” the young man explained, pointing to the large sphere of light nearby. ”The only difference is that the Soul Body’s Perception Ability can perceive the Soul Strength of living beings and objects containing Soul Energy, like that one.”

Hearing the young man’s explanation, Wen Yu turned his head and scanned his soul pets again. They hadn’t noticed the young man’s Soul Body nearby at all.

Among the three soul pets, Cyclops was the weakest, Star was next, and Victor was the strongest. This likely reflected the inherent strength of the three soul pets. None of them possessed skills that could amplify Soul Power, so using Soul Strength to determine their overall power was definitely a viable method.

Wen Yu dispelled his Soul Perception. The next second, his vision returned to normal, and then, he re-entered the state of Soul Perception. This served as a comparison and a small test for Wen Yu: under normal vision and sensory perception, the young man’s Soul Body was completely invisible and undetectable.

In that case...

Wen Yu suddenly thought of a possibility! If he still possessed the ability to attack in this Soul Leave Body state, then for opponents unfamiliar with Soul Power, this would be an absolutely terrifying and indefensible form! Invisible and intangible meant a one-sided offensive advantage; no one could fight back under such circumstances!

Wen Yu thought of Tang Haofei...

Perhaps noticing Wen Yu’s unnatural expression, the young man chuckled, then lightly stepped on Cyclops’s tail.

”WOOF WOOF WOOF?”

”Victor, what are you doing?”

Victor shot Cyclops a disdainful glance, then lay motionless in place. Cyclops, having been snubbed, shook his head, turned away, and continued to lie down facing a different direction.

Seeing this, the young man shrugged with a smile. ”Just a little trick.”

”Is that a skill?”

The young man slowly shook his head. ”It’s just a way of using Soul Power, similar to Soul Perception. However, using this ability requires a prerequisite skill. Actually, Soul Perception also requires any Soul Skill as a prerequisite!”

After saying that, the young man smiled and looked at Wen Yu. With just one glance, Wen Yu felt as if he had been seen through completely.

”Hmm, Soul Strike, Soul Battlefield. What a coincidence, I have these two skills as well. And most importantly, the Soul Battlefield skill is the core skill for Soul Leave Body! As for Soul Strike, tsk tsk, a Soul Master innately possessing Soul Strike... you’re truly fortunate. You have no idea, it took me hundreds of years to obtain Soul Strike. I had to kill three Soul Masters to get this skill!”

”Soul Strike?” Wen Yu asked, looking at the young man before him with confusion.

The young man shook his head and smiled. ”Soul Strike, in my ability system, is an absolute core skill. It’s even more useful than the five Spirit-based Esoteric Level skills I possess!”

Wen Yu fell completely silent. After a long pause, he slowly asked, ”How far can this technique allow the Soul Body to leave the physical body?”

”That depends on your Soul Strength. With your current Soul Strength, hmm, it should be enough for your Soul Body to travel more than 1,000 kilometers from your physical body...”

Wen Yu thought of the Netherworld again. If he stored his physical body in the Netherworld and then used Soul Leave Body to attack...

”Then, what about taking damage...?”

”The Soul Body can only be harmed by Soul Attacks and can only be detected by Soul Perception. Likewise, it can only use soul-based attacks. However, there are solutions to that... for example, tsk tsk, the flexible application of Soul Strike...”

Seeing the broad smile on the young man’s face, Wen Yu swallowed and fell silent. After a long moment, Wen Yu bowed deeply to the young man.

”Master, please accept this apprentice’s bow!”
