Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Soul Power?”

A low murmur echoed back and forth in the empty space.

”You understand? Can you perceive the nature of this energy?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, the young man not far away raised his head in surprise, looking toward Wen Yu.

Hesitating for a moment, Wen Yu nodded.

”I’ve done a bit of research on Soul Power.”

With Soul Battlefield and Soul Strike at his disposal, especially the pure Soul Body combat within the Soul Battlefield, Wen Yu was no stranger to Soul Power.

Hearing Wen Yu’s reply, the young man seemed to grow interested. He sat where he was and waved at Wen Yu, ”Don’t rush off. Perceive this orb of light and see what you can discern.”

Hearing the young man’s words, Wen Yu closed his eyes and perceived the large ball of light before him again, but still, there was no result.

”Idiot. Ordinary perception methods can’t perceive Soul Energy.”

The young man’s words made Wen Yu hesitate. He then turned his head with a bitter smile and said, ”I don’t know any special perception methods either.”

The atmosphere was acutely awkward for a moment until the young man finally let out a deep sigh.

”You don’t know how to use your Soul Body to perceive the outside world?”

Wen Yu shook his head.

”Who helped you select your Soul Skills?”

”I fumbled my way through it myself…”

The young man sighed again, then said to Wen Yu, ”You have a means of attacking the Soul, right?”

Wen Yu nodded.

”Use your Soul Attack ability on yourself, and then carefully observe the changes that occur in your Soul.”

After the young man finished speaking, he immediately fell silent and returned to his original statue-like state, leaving Wen Yu standing there, looking bewildered.

After a while, Wen Yu first looked at the huge ball of light in front of him, then at the young man sitting beside him, and lightly gritted his teeth.

The young man’s words tempted me—learning a new little trick is always good; there’s no harm in having more skills. It’s just that the current environment…

Thinking of this, Wen Yu directly activated his Soul Realm, releasing his three soul pets: Cyclops, Star, and Victor. He also took out Faceless and dripped Tang Haofei’s blood onto it.

Afterward, Wen Yu sat cross-legged on the spot.

Gently raising his right fist, Wen Yu struck himself, neither too lightly nor too heavily.

Soul Strike took effect. Wen Yu only felt his head go BUZZ, and then...

There was no ”and then.”

Wen Yu’s Soul Power was significantly higher than his Physical Strength, which greatly reduced the effect of Soul Strike.

But this was a minor issue. Wen Yu lifted his right fist again and landed a heavy blow on himself.

The physical pain and the pain in his Soul erupted simultaneously. Wen Yu’s mental state was extremely focused as he earnestly perceived the changes within himself—yet he still saw nothing.

The Soul is formless and intangible, a conceptual thing in itself. Could Wen Yu truly explore the essence of the Soul by casually striking himself a couple of times?

That was truly a joke.

Perceiving this, the young man sitting nearby sighed softly to himself.

The fellow I picked seems to be as dumb as a rock...

His fingers lifted slightly, then gently fell.

Energy Fluctuations invisible to the naked eye erupted from the young man’s fingertips, rapidly dispersing into the surrounding space.

”Soul Battlefield…”

A faint whisper rose from the young man’s heart. Then, within his perception, the entire space suddenly changed dramatically.

Countless streams of light crisscrossed. The orb of light beside the young man resembled the Sun, sparkling with dazzling brilliance and unleashing immense Energy Fluctuations. As for Wen Yu, who was nearby, he seemed to have transformed into a somewhat ethereal Shadow, its faint glow outlining his approximate form.

Not only Wen Yu, but also Cyclops, Star, Victor, and even the Almighty Demon Vine on Wen Yu’s right hand, all emitted a dim light.

Seeing this, the young man slowly rose.

As if his Soul had left his body, deep grey streams of energy twined around the young man as he slowly stepped forward. Meanwhile, his physical body remained sitting cross-legged in its original spot, completely still, as if dead.

The young man’s Soul Body gently passed by Cyclops, Star, and Victor, eventually reaching Wen Yu’s side.

”Long time no see... Tongtian.”

”Long time no see... Demon Lord.”

The Spiritual Fluctuation of the Almighty Demon Vine was transmitted, greeting the Demon Lord standing before it.

”So, that’s what happened?”

After listening to the Almighty Demon Vine’s detailed account of what transpired after they entered the Heavenly Palace, the Demon Lord asked nonchalantly.

”Mm.”

”Truly... you’ve all been through a lot.”

”Not at all! As long as you can help us achieve our long-cherished wish, our sacrifices are worth it!”

”Rest assured, that day will come!”

The Demon Lord gave the Almighty Demon Vine a perfunctory reply, then shifted his gaze to Wen Yu.

”Let me see... Soul Battlefield and Soul Strike, and Pitch-dark Divine Light. Hmm, overall, they’re not bad. It’s just that your application of these skills is too crude, utterly too crude…”

The Demon Lord sighed as he slowly placed his hand on Wen Yu’s head.

The next second, Wen Yu’s Soul Body suddenly shuddered!

Wen Yu was relentlessly punching his own thigh. Even when severe pain flared from his thigh and his Soul trembled nonstop, Wen Yu still couldn’t perceive any changes.

I must be freaking crazy! Listening to a stranger and beating myself up for so long... This is just...

Wen Yu thought for a long time but still couldn’t come up with an assessment of his actions.

Sighing lightly, Wen Yu prepared to give up.

However, the next second, Wen Yu felt his body tremble, and then the world started spinning around him!

And then, Wen Yu saw another version of himself.

This perspective is quite interesting. I can’t sense my own body. It’s like some unknown entity has activated God’s Vision. My Perception Ability, guided by my will, allows me to freely shift and change my viewing angle. And then there’s this other me in front of me... Wait a minute... This is...

As his perspective drew closer, Wen Yu saw something different.

The version of himself sitting cross-legged was surrounded by five orbs of varying sizes and colors. Like satellites orbiting a planet, they rotated ceaselessly, and Wen Yu could even sense the strange Energy Fluctuations emanating from them.

Just as Wen Yu was about to observe more closely, a booming voice came from the outside world.

”Manipulate your own Soul Body! Use your Soul Body to perceive everything in the external world!”

Soul Body... He’s talking about this other me in front of me, right?

Wen Yu thought to himself.
