Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The warning from the Almighty Immortal Emperor made Wen Yu’s heart sink.

Before entering the Heavenly Palace Treasure Land, the Almighty Immortal Emperor used ”power and truth” as bait, luring Wen Yu into this drama willingly. After undergoing the scouring of the lower realm of the Heavenly Palace, the teachings of the Demon Lord, and the memories of the Heavenly Dao, Wen Yu was more than satisfied with the rewards from this journey.

But compared to the things already acquired, the truth of the apocalypse and the Dominator’s secrets undoubtedly hold greater value, especially after Wen Yu witnessed the Universe of Immortals and Heroes’ painful experiences, making them even more crucial!

And the warning just now from the Almighty Immortal Emperor undoubtedly indicated one thing to Wen Yu—this matter isn’t over yet, there will still be subsequent twists and turns...

Perhaps Wen Yu’s actions were slow, or maybe the Almighty Immortal Emperor felt time was running short. Sensing Wen Yu’s hesitant attitude, the Almighty Immortal Emperor snorted coldly.

”Hurry up!”

The familiar attitude disclosed a fact to Wen Yu—the Almighty Immortal Emperor wouldn’t elaborate further on this.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu decisively walked toward the nearest mural.

...

Fingertips lightly touched the mural, the cold sensation spread from the tip, Wen Yu felt a gentle spiritual fluctuation instantaneously conveyed into his mind.

Subsequently, the spiritual fluctuation transformed into a holographic image, directly appearing in Wen Yu’s mind.

On a lush green land, a young child, carrying a huge baggage, was walking across the boundless, vast earth...

This was the life of the Almighty Immortal Emperor...

...

”Click.”

The chess piece fell, but this time, the force used by the Dominator was undoubtedly greater.

The Demon Lord at the side feigned ignorance, his hand swiftly placing a piece.

Then...

”Bang!”

The chessboard was overturned, pieces splattered in two colors, raining down from above.

”Sorry, the game is over!”

The Dominator stood up coldly, seeing the black light surging once more on the Demon Lord’s body, the Dominator sneered.

”No more jokes, this time the game is truly over! You think the things Tongtian left behind, I didn’t check? You think the truths Tongtian left behind, I didn’t add another layer of prohibition? You think there’s anything in this world that can escape my eyes? The reason for wasting so much time here with you was firstly to avoid unnecessarily depleting the Demon Realm’s Origin Energy, and secondly...”

”I truly want to see what your backup plan is!”

”And now, it’s time to close the net!”

Upon finishing, the Dominator turned directly, strolling to the edge of the barrier.

Then, a hand emitting white light gently touched the black barrier.

Instantly, the intertwined glow of two colors persisted incessantly, yet the outcome was exceptionally decisive!

The white light, like a scalpel, precisely tore through the black barrier, causing the Demon Lord’s carbon copy’s face to pale suddenly.

In the next second, the Dominator tore forcefully with both hands!

”Screech...”

The sound of tearing fabric rang out, despite the Demon Lord continuously mobilizing the Demon Realm’s Origin Energy to reinforce the barrier’s defense capabilities, it couldn’t withstand the Dominator’s might.

The white light swiftly corroded the black barrier; soon enough, the barrier was blanketed in white mist. The Dominator then turned to look at the pale-faced, extremely weakened carbon copy of the Demon Lord.

”See you next time! Oh, and by the way, I won this chess game...”

”Bang!”

The fragments of the barrier shattered, and the Dominator’s figure had vanished without a trace.

Seeing this, the Demon Lord sighed lowly, yet his gaze showed no sign of despair or defeat.

”Truly, reckless as always...”

...

The holographic image generated by the spiritual fluctuation was faster than typical images.

In mere moments, Wen Yu had witnessed the entirety of the Almighty Immortal Emperor’s growth from a child into the Universe of Immortals and Heroes’ ultimate powerful expert, then leading the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance against the Demon Tribe.

Subsequently, the image continued to unfold...

Wen Yu saw how the Almighty Immortal Emperor met a woman during an expedition, befriended her, and gave birth to the Heavenly Dao.

The images dovetailed with the memories of the Heavenly Dao.

Wen Yu understood next, it should be when the Almighty Immortal Emperor discovered the truth about the Universe of Immortals and Heroes...

Slowly retracting his hand, Wen Yu continued walking into the stone hallway, then stood before another mural, extending his right hand to make contact.

”Lord Dominator, the war is over. I wish for you to reclaim the Exchange Stone Pillar.”

The voice of the Almighty Immortal Emperor sounded.

”Oh? Hmm...”

The voice that used to be heard on the battlefield between two realms resonated; the Dominator’s voice remained silent for a long time, before speaking.

”Alright then, let me show you something first.”

The sound flowed into Wen Yu’s ear membranes, until now, the image slowly unfolded before Wen Yu’s eyes.

...

It was a grand, spacious hall, the dome above was half-open, from the dome opening, one could see a splendor of twinkling lights—just like observing a grand cosmic galaxy from space.

”Alright then, let me show you something first.”

Sitting high above, the Dominator was shrouded in light, his figure and face indistinct.

After speaking these words, the white light gradually emerged, then a silver-white whirlpool abruptly appeared in front of the Almighty Immortal Emperor.

”Follow me.”

The Dominator enveloped in white light stood up, directly stepping into the vortex.

The mural in front revealed the Almighty Immortal Emperor’s face without mosaics, a burly figure paired with a handsome face, appearing as a charming middle-aged man. Hearing the Dominator’s voice, the Almighty Immortal Emperor glanced at the silver-white whirlpool ahead, Wen Yu could see the doubt and surprise in the eyes of the Almighty Immortal Emperor.

Subsequently, the Almighty Immortal Emperor, along with the Dominator, entered the vortex.

The scene shifts.

When the light illuminated again, the Dominator and the Almighty Immortal Emperor had already appeared in another unknown land.

This place, however, lacked the grandeur and magnificence seen earlier; instead, it was dark and cramped, like an underground cellar, with countless racks made of unknown materials piled on either side of the walls, each with orderly arranged wooden boxes of equal size. This place gave Wen Yu the first impression of being a collection room.

”What is this?”

The voice of the Almighty Immortal Emperor sounded.

”Here, ah, this is my collection. Come with me.”

The Dominator finished speaking and was the first to walk toward the racks beside him.

…

Casually pulling out a wooden box from the rack, the Dominator handed it to the Almighty Immortal Emperor.

”Open it and take a look.”

The Almighty Immortal Emperor opened the wooden box slowly, without any suspicion.

In the next second, dazzling, brilliant light suddenly shone, the enormous brightness even dazzled Wen Yu’s eyes.

Only when the light subdued did Wen Yu notice that inside the box, there lay a crystal-clear bead…

The voice of the Almighty Immortal Emperor explained to Wen Yu.

”Such pure energy, this seems like… magic crystals…”

”Yes.”

The Dominator’s voice, slightly amused, sounded.

”This is a magic crystal… Level 11 magic crystals…”

After speaking, the Dominator glanced at the numerous wooden boxes on the racks around him.

”Inside here, they are all Level 11 magic crystals!”

”You…”

The Almighty Immortal Emperor abruptly raised his head to look at the Dominator, surprise and heaviness slowly surfacing in his eyes.

The Dominator seemed unaware of the emotion in the Emperor’s eyes and continued speaking.

”Level 11 magic crystals, truly not easy to obtain. The number of Level 11 powerful experts that can appear in a world is fixed, at most five, at least one. Adding to that, some of my special means and methods, this number could be doubled at most. So, accumulating these magic crystals isn’t an easy feat for me.”

The body of the Almighty Immortal Emperor began to tremble, a momentum from within him seemingly uncontrollably fermenting --- how these magic crystals came to be, the Almighty Immortal Emperor had already figured out, and in comparison to the Dominator’s current attitude, he similarly had a rough idea of what the Dominator intended to do.

Kill… extract magic crystals…

However, the Almighty Immortal Emperor’s guess was wrong…

”You think I want to kill you? No, no, no, I won’t kill you. Level 11 powerful experts are not easily obtained, having a fundamental difference compared to Level 10 Breakthrough Achievers. I won’t treat you like pigs being slaughtered thoughtlessly. Now, I’m merely giving you a choice.”

”But before presenting this choice, I would like to recount a story to you…”

”Once upon a time… there was a world-**-***-**-”

”Buzz buzz buzz…”

…

The flowing voice quickly turned into a series of noise, making Wen Yu’s brain hurt, and he swiftly withdrew his fingers, bewildered as he looked at the mural in front of him.

”What’s going on here?”

The questioning words slipped out, intended originally for the Almighty Demon Vine, yet unexpectedly received another voice’s reply.

”What’s wrong, can’t see? Itchy? Does it feel like you’re constipated?”

The familiar sound, with a teasing tone, brushed through Wen Yu’s eardrums, almost instantly, Wen Yu quickly identified the owner of the voice.

If Wen Yu’s ears were fine, this voice, he had just heard in the mural…

Wen Yu instantly fell into silence, while the voice continued…

”Has your curiosity been satisfied? Hmm, probably not, right? Now, you must have heard the saying curiosity killed the cat…”

”So, now, my Sequence Number 2, do you still want to see more?”

…

Almost instantly, Wen Yu already reacted, comprehending the intent behind the final hint from the Almighty Immortal Emperor.

Acting, acting!

Performing for whom? First for Wen Yu, to make Wen Yu, a person full of doubt, let down his guard, allowing Wen Yu, this pawn, to perform accordingly, authentically.

Strictly speaking, Wen Yu was not quite an audience, Wen Yu was merely an actor.

Whereas the true audience, at this moment, stood by Wen Yu’s side!

Who does the truth of the apocalypse infringe upon? Wen Yu doesn’t need to ponder this question; the answer is straightforward ---- it infringes upon the Dominator’s interests!

And the Dominator…

Wen Yu recalled what the Almighty Immortal Emperor once said to him: ”The Dominator is omnipotent…”

In a trance, Wen Yu reflected on the entire process of the Heavenly Palace Treasure Land. From the beginning, this treasure land, whether Demon Fiends, or the Universe of Immortals and Heroes natives, or the Almighty Demon Vine, posed no threat to him. Even if threats arose, under the powers of the Demon Lord, the Almighty Demon Vine, and the Heavenly Dao, they wouldn’t have interfered with the process in the slightest!

The real threat solely originated from the Dominator himself.

Seeking the truth was akin to pulling the Dominator’s whiskers, and the Dominator’s strength ensured his capability to acquire information far beyond Wen Yu’s imagination. Plus, the treasure land was precisely crafted by the Dominator.

This equated to Wen Yu always being on the Dominator’s turf, under the Dominator’s surveillance, engaging in acts infringing upon the Dominator’s interests!

This was an obstacle ignored from the beginning by Wen Yu, yet ultimately insurmountable!

To Wen Yu, the Dominator’s attitude was the greatest threat in the Heavenly Palace, and at this moment, the distance between Wen Yu and the Dominator was merely a few meters…

…

PS: Certainly, the truth cannot be entirely revealed at this time, as Level 5 implies a premature end if revealed; however, some general aspects, everyone can infer roughly one or two things through the memory of the Heavenly Dao and the fleeting scene just seen.

Additionally, clarifying some readers’ doubts about why the Almighty Immortal Emperor would rather watch all his subjects perish than disclose the truth.

As an analogy, suppose someone is diagnosed with a terminal illness, his choices are limited to two points, dragging life and facing death, revealing a bit.
