Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Pfft, pfft, pfft...”

Wen Yu forcefully spat out the dust from his mouth, while the Pitch-dark Divine Light instantly unfurled.

A pure black curtain of light enveloped Wen Yu and Tang Haofei’s bodies.

Stones continuously rained down from above, burying the entire black curtain in a short amount of time, simultaneously concealing Wen Yu and Tang Haofei’s figures.

Of course, these stones posed no threat to Wen Yu and Tang Haofei, at most, making them look somewhat disheveled...

Ignoring the dust on his body, Wen Yu summoned the Almighty Demon Vine while drawing out his final layer of protection for life safety and simultaneously deployed Soul Perception to observe the commotion above.

...

The entire Eight Extremes Demon Palace was enveloped in a dim gray light, within Wen Yu’s perception, countless runes flowed continuously upon the light.

Wen Yu understood inwardly—this should be the formation of the Eight Extremes Demon Palace. It’s precisely because of this formation that the Eight Extremes Demon Palace wasn’t instantly vaporized clean in the clash between the two Level 11 powerful experts just now.

Simultaneously, two Soul Bodies above remained entangled within Wen Yu’s perception, their speed so swift that Wen Yu couldn’t catch sight of Heavenly Dao and Bai’s forms...

Just now, ”Could I use the Soul Battlefield to kill such a flawed Level 11 strong expert like Heavenly Dao,” immediately became a false premise—unable to chase, unable to see, how could one fight?

Fortunately, these minor issues were not within Wen Yu’s consideration.

Because, facing Heavenly Dao, was Bai...

...

However, the scene above was nothing like what Wen Yu perceived.

At this moment, Bai and Heavenly Dao were seated, casually casting attack after attack, yet the direction of these attacks was not towards the opponent’s body instead aimed at the empty distance.

Brilliant lights and explosions erupted continuously; with the casual attacks of the two Level 11 experts, the underground Eight Extremes Demon Palace was dismantled effortlessly.

”How are the preparations?”

It was the Demon Lord, standing beside speaking.

At this moment, the Demon Lord’s hands were clasped in an eerie seal, continuous energy surged from the Demon Lord’s body, permeating the entire battlefield. Amid this Energy Wave, two illusory figures flashed across the air like a holographic projection.

Coupled with Bai and Heavenly Dao’s casual attacks, the entire battlefield temporarily looked legitimate as if Bai and Heavenly Dao were genuinely engaging in fierce combat.

Upon hearing the Demon Lord’s words, Heavenly Dao remained silent. After a long while, he raised his head, gently nodding twice.

”The Heavenly Ancient God Palace in Outer Space has already been cleared out by me, and the key has been obtained. Skills, tools, and even the core technology of Universe of Immortals and Heroes have all been placed inside...”

”And this.”

Having said that, the Demon Lord withdrew the space ring from his finger and tossed it to Heavenly Dao.

”This is what I prepared for Wen Yu, place it within the Ancient God Palace as well...”

Upon hearing the Demon Lord’s words, Heavenly Dao fell silent again. After a moment, he raised his head, eyes fixed on the Demon Lord.

”Will it succeed? Your plan, the master’s plan, and the entire Universe of Immortals and Heroes’ aspirations...”

Seeing Heavenly Dao’s mournful tone and sorrowful gaze, the Demon Lord was quiet for a long while before slowly shaking his head.

”I don’t know...”

”There’s hope, right...”

”Yes, there’s hope!”

This time, the Demon Lord nodded affirmatively.

”That’s good, that’s good...”

Heavenly Dao seemed lost in thought, nodding blankly. Then, the light in his hand shifted, and the space ring in his grasp instantly vanished.

Witnessing this, the Demon Lord sighed heavily.

”Then let’s begin, our final plan.”

...

Slowly closing his eyes, Heavenly Dao’s body seemingly turned into an immobile stone sculpture.

Seeing this, the Demon Lord gradually walked forward, his hands glowing brighter, and afterward, the Demon Lord’s right hand gently caressed the top of Heavenly Dao’s head.

Dim light continued to scatter, and amidst this eerie glow, Heavenly Dao’s Soul Body became visibly solidified, reduced in size, until finally condensed into a crystal-clear bead.

Only after accomplishing these tasks did the Demon Lord take a deep breath and collapsed on the ground as if utterly exhausted.

Witnessing this, Bai slowly rose, looked at the Demon Lord lying motionless on the ground.

”Are you alright?”

The Demon Lord weakly shook his head.

Understanding this, Bai sighed helplessly, then his figure moved swiftly, drifting toward the distance.

...

The entire ”battlefield” fell silent until thirty minutes later when a series of crackling noises emerged from the pile of rubble below.

A Peak Level 7 practitioner of Demon Path cautiously emerged from the underground, surveying the surroundings like a thief.

”Hey you, yes, you!”

The sudden voice startled the individual.

Just as he intended to retreat underground, an unknown force seized him and brought him directly before the Demon Lord.

”Why run, little guy!”

The Demon Lord casually teased, ignoring the professionalist trembling in fear beside him, he spoke seriously.

”Go down and tell Wen Yu, who arrived yesterday, to come up!”

”Tell him that Bai died during the fierce battle between Heavenly Dao and Bai, Heavenly Dao was trapped by Bai in the Soul World, and Wen Yu should come up and give Heavenly Dao the final blow!”

An unknown force accompanied the words, flooding into the professionist’s mind. His expression momentarily dazed before he robotically descended through the channel he had just emerged from, heading into the ruined depths of the Eight Extremes Demon Palace.

Only then did the Demon Lord sigh deeply.

Looking at the motionless Heavenly Dao beside him, as if a corpse, the Demon Lord seemed to see the former Almighty Immortal Emperor...

...

”So this is the truth, isn’t it...”

”This is what the Dominator aims for, right...”

”This is the reason for our two races’ war over tens of thousands of years, the cause of billions of lives lost, right...”

”How ridiculous! How sad!”

Watching the Almightly Immortal Emperor, resembling a madman before him, the Demon Lord took a long pause before softly replying: ”I have a plan.”

Spiritual Fluctuation flowed swiftly, within seconds the entire plan’s content was transmitted into the Almighty Immortal Emperor’s mind.

With hardly any hesitation, upon hearing the full process of the plan, the Almighty Immortal Emperor instantly nodded.

”I agree!”

”Agree? The premise of this plan involves the entire Universe of Immortals and Heroes!”

”Hehehe... Hahahaha...”

The smile of the Almightly Immortal Emperor was indescribably peculiar, like a conscience-less murderer or a stimulated lunatic.

”Universe of Immortals and Heroes is long gone, from the moment the Dominator arrived here, Universe of Immortals and Heroes was already finished, long finished...”

The sinister tone paired with sinister eyes, at this moment the Almighty Immortal Emperor resembled a gambler risking everything.

”Promise me one thing.”

The Almighty Immortal Emperor’s expression turned cold.

”Help me kill Him, you must help me kill Him...”

The Demon Lord remained silent for a while, without speaking.

Contrarily, the Almighty Immortal Emperor seemed to understand the Demon Lord’s choices completely, raising a peculiar smile.

”What is it, powerless? Unwilling? Or softened?”

”I knew it...”

The indistinct voice quickly dissipated, at the same time, a voice grew nearer.

”Master? Master?”

The Demon Lord snapped back to reality, seeing Wen Yu beside him gently pushing his body.
