Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

He used a defense skill, creating something like a barrier—its sole purpose was to hinder Tang Haofei’s mobility.

Lightning Thunder Power began to flicker on his fist. Tang Haofei turned his head to look at the fat man, who was moving slowly; he had gradually adapted to the pain in his lower body.

Meanwhile, the injuries on Tang Haofei’s body were healing rapidly.

Tang Haofei didn’t try to test the Golden Light Shield’s defense capabilities. He understood one thing clearly: since he had already controlled his Teleportation distance, there was no way the fat man could just stand by and watch him break this light shield.

For Tang Haofei, the tactical choices for the upcoming battle had, in fact, become much simpler…

Blue Thunder and a thick, earth-yellow halo flashed alternately on his body. In a short period, Tang Haofei’s body seemed to inflate like a balloon. Even his eyes gradually turned blue, until they emitted two faint blue beams of light, like searchlights.

Noticing Tang Haofei’s gaze become firm, the fat man finally revealed an enigmatic smile…

”Thank you… This is what I wanted!”

The next moment, golden light erupted and Blue Light soared!

Gold and blue intertwined frantically within the relatively small Golden Light Shield!

…

In Wen Yu’s eyes, this kind of passionate, fist-to-fist combat held no aesthetic appeal whatsoever…

However, for the two involved, this type of battle was likely what they truly desired.

Inside the Golden Light Shield, fists flew and dirt splashed. The collision of immense forces caused the shield to constantly deform.

Fortunately, the fat man was indeed strong. According to Wen Yu’s estimation, the level of this Golden Light Shield had to be high—only then could it withstand the shockwaves of their battle.

In the battlefield, less than one hundred square meters in area, two ferocious beasts unreservedly bared their fangs…

…

Twenty minutes later, the Golden Light Shield gradually dissipated. Only when the dust settled could Wen Yu see the state of the two individuals.

Tang Haofei’s body from the waist down had completely disappeared. Even his remaining upper half was covered in countless fist marks. The fat man’s tremendous power had fractured Old Tang’s bones, and one could vaguely see pale, broken bone fragments near his chest…

The fat man’s condition, on the other hand, was much better...

The golden battle armor still enveloped his body. Although the golden light had dimmed, the astonishing Energy Fluctuations it emitted were still not to be underestimated.

However, by this point, the fat man had lost all signs of life…

Wen Yu slowly walked forward. He first glanced at Tang Haofei, who lay on the ground, then turned to look at the massive wound on the fat man’s neck.

”HISS…”

Wen Yu sucked in a sharp breath before turning back to Tang Haofei and remarking teasingly, ”Old Tang, you’ve got some really good teeth…”

The fat man’s fatal wound was on his neck. It was barely connected by a sliver of flesh; the bones and blood vessels inside had completely ruptured. Judging from the marks, Tang Haofei must have bitten it off, piece by piece.

One could easily picture the scene: Tang Haofei, clinging to the fat man’s back, enduring his attacks while gripping him tightly, then opening his mouth wide to tear off chunk after chunk of flesh and bone!

”COUGH, COUGH, COUGH…”

Tang Haofei’s response to Wen Yu was a series of coughs. Bloody foam continuously sprayed from his mouth, yet even in such a half-dead state, he still had the presence of mind to give Wen Yu a thumbs-up.

”Who… let… that guy… always… hit me… in the face…”

A muffled voice escaped Tang Haofei’s lips. In his current condition, he could barely speak clearly.

”Do you need a healing potion?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, Tang Haofei slowly shook his head, then closed his eyes to sense the changes in his body.

…

The first thing, and what Tang Haofei focused on most, was: Challenge successful! Resurrection Count +1!

The moment he bit through the fat man’s neck, Tang Haofei immediately felt a mysterious power surge into his body. Familiar with his own skills, he naturally knew this signified the completion of the Challenger’s Trial.

The skill description changing from 10/13 to 11/13 also confirmed his combat achievement!

Next was the increase in the upper limit of his physical attributes, brought about by True God Dominant Body.

The enhancement from True God Dominant Body after the battle with the fat man far exceeded Tang Haofei’s imagination. As his physical attributes improved and the Power of the Earth continuously surged into him, his gruesome wounds began to heal under Wen Yu’s watchful eyes. In less than ten minutes, disgusting flesh buds even started to grow from his severed waist.

Ranged attacks, close-quarters combat… Physical conditioning, and even Recovery Ability…

The combat prowess Tang Haofei currently displayed undoubtedly startled Wen Yu. From the recent battle, Wen Yu could easily gauge Tang Haofei’s true strength.

If I were to fight Old Tang in close combat now, I probably wouldn’t last a single move against him!
