Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The ring Wen Yu originally wore had been taken from Old Master Fang. This happened during Wen Yu’s first transaction with Lin Haifeng on his initial visit to the Yanjing Assembly Site.

Space ring (C-Class item): Internal dimensions 10x10x10.

10x10x10, meaning 1,000 cubic meters, was absolutely more than enough for an independent hero.

However, Wen Yu, never one to take the conventional path, had gathered a large amount of junk in Ling Yun City.

Luckily, he had Mo Xuan.

Fortunately, Mo Xuan had noticed the shabby ring on Wen Yu’s hand.

Wen Yu was certainly not going to refuse such a generous gift from a subordinate.

Picking up the ring from the tray in front of him, Wen Yu focused his attention on it.

Space ring (S-class Tool): Internal dimensions 1,000x1,000x1,000.

Wen Yu’s assessment of the space ring before him could be summed up simply: Finally, a place to put all my junk!

「...」

There wasn’t much on the dozen or so remaining trays that particularly excited Wen Yu.

There were various disposable defense tools. These items were quite good, mainly because Mo Xuan had provided high-grade ones, all capable of defending against attacks from Level 6 or Level 7 powerful experts.

He took them without question.

Then there were a few elixir pills that increased the upper limit of physical fitness.

During the final battle in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, Ling Yun City had been the main battlefield of the Fifth Layer of Tiangong. As a consequence, Ling Yun City possessed fewer elixir pills and spirit herbs than the medicinal herbs garden Wen Yu had previously plundered.

The scattered elixir pills could provide Wen Yu with about 3,000 physique points—better than nothing for him, but not by much.

After deciding to give half to Star and Victor each, Wen Yu began to pick up the other things.

A small portion consisted of elixir pills for healing soul injuries—these were for the Almighty Demon Vine.

The other part comprised items and tools imbued with the Origin Energy of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes!

「...」

Wen Yu didn’t want to reveal the Almighty Demon Vine’s existence to Mo Xuan for the time being, and the Almighty Demon Vine had no intention of showing itself either.

So, absorbing the elixir pills and Origin Energy had to be done somewhere private.

After stowing everything from the trays into his space ring, Wen Yu finally looked up at Mo Xuan.

”I’m a bit tired. Arrange a place for me to stay.”

”Alright, Young Master.”

Mo Xuan executed Wen Yu’s orders perfectly.

In less than half an hour, Mo Xuan had guided Wen Yu to a beautifully decorated two-story loft.

After casually dismissing Mo Xuan, Wen Yu carefully inspected the loft’s layout. Once he confirmed there were no surveillance measures, he waved his hand.

The power of darkness began to surge, and soon, a faint black fog enveloped the entire loft.

Even though everything was proceeding smoothly, Wen Yu never dropped his guard. Caution had always been a quality that kept him alive. When his intelligence and methods fall short, he must compensate for these deficiencies with meticulous care!

Once the black fog had completely enveloped the loft, Wen Yu waved his hand again.

A purple radiance flashed mid-air, and the three soul pets, in their miniature forms, reappeared before Wen Yu.

He distributed the elixir pills, raising Star’s and Victor’s physique to about 15,000 points, and also replaced Cyclops’s skill.

Beast Instinct Activation (A-Class, Passive ability): This ability triggers the wild beast instinct hidden deep within the host, significantly increasing their melee combat prowess. The host’s attack strength (equivalent to their strength value at the moment of attack) increases by up to 100%! Additionally, it grants the host’s attacks a certain degree of defense-ignoring effect.

The effect of this skill was decent; at least among the A-Class skills Wen Yu had seen, none were more ferocious than Beast Instinct Activation. However, when faced with an SS-Class skill, Wen Yu still relentlessly discarded it.

Destruction (SS-Class, Passive Skill): This skill fully utilizes the violent factor within the host’s body. Once combat begins, the more damage the host inflicts on the enemy, the stronger their fighting capacity becomes. Simultaneously, blood spilled on the battlefield provides the host with additional recovery effects.

Looking at his three Primary Battle Soul Pets, none of which now possessed a skill below S-Class, Wen Yu finally nodded in satisfaction.

Better than nothing, I suppose...

Perhaps it was because the haul from the medicinal herbs garden had been too substantial. After all, even with 3,000 physique points, three SS-Class skills, various miscellaneous items, and a space ring, Wen Yu still considered the current gains mediocre.

He had to admit, ever since becoming the Young Master of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, his appetite had grown increasingly larger!

「...」

After tending to the three soul pets, Wen Yu promptly sent them back to the Soul Realm space.

He mentally sent a spiritual fluctuation towards his right hand.

”Come out.”

Sensing Wen Yu’s spiritual fluctuation, the Almighty Demon Vine slowly slithered out from his right hand. It lazily stretched its tendrils, then with a swift movement, coiled around the elixir pills on the ground. The tip of a tendril split open, rapidly drawing the pills into its body.

Wen Yu couldn’t perceive the changes in its soul. With only two soul-related skills, Soul Battlefield and Soul Strike, he certainly couldn’t claim to be an expert in such matters.

But it was an undeniable fact that the Almighty Demon Vine’s mental state was steadily improving.

After spending a considerable amount of time together, even though Wen Yu still didn’t know the Almighty Demon Vine’s true purpose for bringing him to the Heavenly Palace, this didn’t stop him from placing increasing importance on it.

At times, a thought would suddenly occur to Wen Yu: Perhaps having such an Almighty Demon Vine accompanying him in the future wouldn’t be a bad choice at all!

「...」

Healing soul wounds was a slow process. Even with the high-grade elixir pills Mo Xuan provided, the Almighty Demon Vine still took quite some time.

But these were minor issues; Wen Yu had plenty of time as long as the Almighty Demon Vine hadn’t announced its next move.

About an hour later, the Almighty Demon Vine finally stirred again.

Its tendrils stretching, the Almighty Demon Vine coiled around one item after another imbued with the Origin Energy of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes. Then, Wen Yu felt the familiar Origin Energy of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes continuously gathering in his body.

This feels as comfortable as soaking in a hot bath! And I have to admit, this absorption method is far more efficient than hunting the natives of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes!

Only when all the items before him were swept clean did Wen Yu reluctantly ask.

”How much more do we need?”

”Not much. Once we reach the Sixth Layer, you will be able to sense the power of the divine beast!”
