Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

As Wen Yu stopped, an awkward silence immediately enveloped the scene. It wasn’t until Wen Yu pulled out his compass, carefully examined the light point representing Tang Haofei, then lifted his head, revealing a strange smile to Heluo, who was right in front of him.

”You know, my teammate isn’t slow either. He’s right here now.”

”See?” Wen Yu finished, directly showing Heluo the compass dial.

This is... Heluo thought, truly unable to understand this technological product from Earth, and looked at Wen Yu in confusion.

Wen Yu’s smile widened.

”Idiot, he’s right under your feet...”

”Soul Battlefield!!!”

The battle erupted far more abruptly than expected. Heluo’s team hadn’t even grasped the situation when they saw Wen Yu’s body transform into a streak of Black Light, instantly vanishing into the mind of their leader, Heluo! Wen Yu’s body disappeared completely, while Heluo’s body, as if struck by an immobilizing spell, stood rooted to the spot, eyes vacant and unmoving.

However, battle allows no one sufficient time to react!

The very next moment, two large hands shot out from the ground, brutally grasping the feet of Zhu Zi and Fatty, who were further back.

BOOM!

The tremendous explosion from the ground left the sole remaining team member utterly at a loss. He turned his head to look where Zhu Zi and Fatty had been, only to find a bottomless pit. Muffled sounds of intense hand-to-hand combat echoed intermittently from its depths. He turned his head again, looking at his team leader’s frozen body in front of him. For a long moment, the man couldn’t figure out what he was supposed to do.

The Soul Battlefield ability was truly bizarre—it transformed one’s body and Soul into an Energy attack that instantly stormed into the opponent’s Soul World. In other words, after Wen Yu activated the Soul Battlefield, he became completely invisible and invulnerable.

Of course, this ability also had a significant weakness. After initiating the Soul Battlefield, the user fought the enemy within it. If Wen Yu won, he would immediately and forcibly obtain the enemy’s Soul Power and reappear in the external world using the enemy’s soulless body.

So, what if the enemy’s allies disregarded their teammate’s life and brazenly attacked the physical body of the one caught in the Soul Battlefield while it was active? Would that affect Wen Yu? Wen Yu had never tested this, nor did he dare to.

However, such a scenario was generally unlikely. The enemy wouldn’t know the detailed effects or mechanics of the Soul Battlefield. Upon seeing a teammate ensnared by it, typical thinking would lead them to try and save their teammate, not attack them directly! The sole remaining member of Heluo’s team clearly fell into the category of an ”average person.” Looking at his captain in front, this team member gently shook Heluo’s shoulder—he had no idea how to break the Soul Battlefield!

「Inside the Soul Battlefield.」

An unknown light source illuminated every detail of the pure white space. The familiar environment instantly made Wen Yu feel incredibly secure! He had already designated Soul series abilities as his primary future development path. As the Core Skill of this ability system, the Soul Battlefield’s importance to Wen Yu was self-evident! The Soul Battlefield was his trump card, his domain. Here, he was the deity who created the world!

However, when Wen Yu turned to observe Heluo’s Soul Body, he suddenly realized a startling fact—Heluo’s Soul Body was nowhere to be seen. He slowly furrowed his brow and scanned the entire space generated by the Soul Battlefield once more, but still found nothing.

What’s going on!

Just as Wen Yu was feeling perplexed, a pricking sensation under his foot, like a needle, snapped him back to reality.

Could it be...

A possibility suddenly arose in his mind. Wen Yu slowly lowered his head and looked down at his feet.

And then...

”Hahaha... HAHAHAHA...” Wild laughter erupted from Wen Yu’s mouth.

”This time! Let’s see how you all handle this!”

”Hahaha... HAHAHAHA...”

To Heluo, Wen Yu’s laughter was like rolling thunder, causing his Soul Body to ripple like the surface of water. Looking at the towering ”giant” before him, despair instantly washed over Heluo’s face. In a flash, piecing together what had just happened and his current situation, Heluo understood what kind of skill had struck him. However, understanding didn’t equate to a solution. In his current state, Heluo had absolutely no way to resist!

The giant before him, massive as a hill, slowly bent down. This simple act, in Heluo’s eyes, was like the sky collapsing—the violent wind pressure from the ”falling mountain” buffeted Heluo’s tiny form, causing him to stagger and fall. The Soul-Armored in his hand—the Wild Goose Saber—slipped from his grasp. Inside the Soul Battlefield, Heluo had shrunk, and along with him, his only weapon—his Soul-Armored. And this was the source of the pain Wen Yu had felt earlier—Heluo, waving his shrunken Soul-Armored, was trying to salvage a final shred of dignity by persistently chipping away at Wen Yu’s foot.

Two fingers, like a pair of colossal pillars, gently pinched Heluo’s body—”gently,” that is, from Wen Yu’s perspective. To Heluo, Wen Yu’s simple action felt like being crushed between two city walls. The immense force made Heluo unable to suppress a piercing howl!

”What did you say? I... can’t... hear... you...”

Again, the sound was like rolling thunder. Wen Yu watched as white specks of light scattered from Heluo’s Soul Body. The violent sound waves transformed into a biting gale, instantly dispersing about half of Heluo’s Soul Body.

The Almighty Demon Vine had once said that the dead souls of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes gain a second life through the wraiths in Soul Beads, but the Soul Body strength of these wraiths was pitifully low. Wen Yu had naturally taken this to heart, but he had never imagined that these wraiths from the dead souls of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes would be *this* weak—not just weaker than ordinary people or low-level professionists, but far weaker! As weak as ants!

In that brief moment, Wen Yu immediately reassessed his strategy for this bounty hunting plan. With the Soul Battlefield at his disposal, Wen Yu feared no native of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes!
