Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu’s words undeniably made the atmosphere tense.

Merkel was perceptive enough to know that the status of a super powerful expert far exceeded that of a ”national leader” like herself, so she wisely remained silent.

Wen Yu cast a thorough glance at the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier in the distance. After a while, he turned his head towards Merkel, seemingly asking in passing, ”By the way, the air here doesn’t smell right... Have you used nuclear weapons?”

Upon hearing this, Merkel nodded lightly. ”Three nuclear power plants in Germany have exploded, and after the apocalypse, our country’s scientific research team developed nuclear weapons... Britain and France deployed three; we deployed two. You don’t quite understand the current situation in Europe. The demon plague puts tremendous pressure on us!”

The answer was expected. Considering the current distribution of power on Earth, Europe has a sparse population and few mutant beasts. It would be incredible if the continent wasn’t under great pressure! As for technological strength... Those are all consumables. The professionists are the true renewable resources!

”Why don’t you go to Yanjing?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, Merkel fell silent for a long time before answering solemnly, ”Here, after all, is our country...”

Hearing this, Wen Yu scoffed. These so-called leaders are all the same, always speaking with such self-righteousness, but everyone understands their true intentions... If the Berlin Assembly Site were to relocate to Yanjing en masse, what would Merkel, the former Chancellor of Germany, amount to? Nothing at all! As long as her life isn’t in danger, controlling a nation’s military power is far better than retiring in Yanjing! As for those who died defending Berlin... Those who accomplish great things... don’t sweat the small stuff...

After a while, seeing that Wen Yu still stood motionless, Merkel could not suppress her curiosity and asked, ”Please, could you help Berlin...”

Merkel’s request interrupted Wen Yu’s thoughts. Looking at the waves of Demon Fiends in the distance, Wen Yu seemed to recall something. He suddenly turned his head to look directly at Merkel and said outright, ”How powerful is the most powerful nuclear bomb you have here?”

Merkel thought for a moment and then decisively replied, ”1,000,000 tons of TNT equivalent!”

”How devastating is it?”

”The effective killing radius is 150 square kilometers.”

Hearing this, Wen Yu silently made some calculations. After a while, he sighed softly. 150 square kilometers really isn’t that big. At least compared to Yanjing, this scale is remarkably small.

”How many do you have? And what is the trigger mechanism?”

”Our country currently has a stockpile of at least dozens. The trigger is usually an electronic triggering device...”

”Can a high-intensity collision trigger a nuclear weapon?”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s question, Merkel looked up and stared intently into Wen Yu’s eyes. After a pause, she nodded lightly. ”Yes, it can!”

”Alright then, let’s make a deal! Give me ten nuclear bombs—you’ll need to slightly modify the triggering mechanism—and I’ll help you eliminate that,” Wen Yu pointed towards the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier in the distance, ”and those!” He then gestured to the Demon Group even further away outside the city walls before solemnly adding, ”I think you should agree because I’m trying to reason with you right now. Don’t force me to use my fists!”

When Wen Yu entered the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier, Merkel had understood what ’reason’ meant.

They agreed that the nuclear weapons would be handed over immediately after Wen Yu exited the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier. Only then did Wen Yu casually stroll into it.

The Almighty Demon Vine unfurled, backed by the powers of the Netherworld. With the Pitch-dark World fully activated, Wen Yu transformed into a vast expanse of dark fog. He began searching the edges of the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier for its core.

The number of survivors within the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier was significant, and there was even more cannon fodder from the Demon Tribe. In addition, the barrier had replicated a Peak Level 5 Demon Fiend. So, while the enemy might be low-quality, their numbers were considerable. Wen Yu didn’t intend to deal with the core first. He started by sweeping away the surrounding Demon Fiends—after giving Qin Shiyuan 1,000 physique points, it would be a lie to say it didn’t sting...

About an hour later, Wen Yu finally found the location of the barrier core. Feeling his physical capabilities increase and having observed the remaining Demon Fiends, Wen Yu pulled out a pile of items from his space ring, scattering them haphazardly around the barrier core’s location. These were just simple defensive measures, mainly to prevent the Demon Fiend carrying the core from slipping away... Having done all this, Wen Yu decisively turned towards the areas densely packed with Demon Fiends.

「Three hours later...」

When the Demon Group outside stopped pouring into the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier, Wen Yu turned back. He headed towards the location of the barrier core, dismantled the defensive measures he had set up, and entered what seemed to be an Illusion-type skill cast by an unknown Demon Fiend.

BOOM!

BOOM!

Two loud explosions. The Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier began to slowly fade... The barrier that once caused Wen Yu great trouble could no longer stir up any waves before him now! With the Level Lock in place, Breakthrough Achievers—especially Wen Yu and Tang Haofei, for whom breaking limits was relatively simple—had become true apex beings!

”Where are the nuclear bombs?” After stepping out of the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier, Wen Yu ignored the murderous glares from the two ”bodyguards” behind Merkel and directly stretched out his hand towards her.

The human casualties inside the Purple Light Spawn and Grow Barrier, a result of Wen Yu’s strategy, were so catastrophic that ’heavy losses’ was an understatement—far too many people had died in the four hours inside. However, Wen Yu didn’t care... And it seemed Merkel didn’t care much either...

”Here. The triggering mechanisms are impact and time-delayed detonation...”

Wen Yu took the space ring from Merkel’s hand. He glanced at the ten neatly placed nuclear bombs inside and slowly nodded. Then, he looked at Merkel with a strange glint in his eyes... ”Let’s go. Accompany me to set off a couple of big fireworks!!!”

After he spoke, darkness surged. Dark clouds instantly enveloped Merkel. The next second, the entire mass of darkness shot straight into the sky, flying into the distance at immense speed.

AAAAHHH...

The old woman’s shrill screams grated on Wen Yu’s nerves.

”Shut up! Have you never been on an airplane before? You’re screaming as if I’m about to f**king rape you!”

Wen Yu’s threat was effective; at least, Merkel obediently closed her mouth. Given the uncertainty of whether Merkel had tampered with the nuclear bombs, test-detonating a couple was a prudent safety measure. As for the radiation... It wasn’t as if they were landing on my head, so why should I care!
