You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

147: Section 147At this moment, Zheng Haidi, whose face was pale and devoid of any color, slowly raised his hand and stood up.

”I know the person in charge of Honor of Kings, Mr. Zhou.”

The last two words, Mr. Zhou, were almost squeezed out from between Zheng Haidi’s teeth.

Upon hearing this, everyone present became interested.

Little Ma also motioned for Zheng Haidi to continue.

After taking a deep breath, Zheng Haidi slowly began to speak.

”Zhou Qiang was an employee who had just been regularized at Penguin Group and worked under me previously.”

”But then...”

”Just a few days before Honor of Kings officially entered the development phase, when I was preparing to fire him...”

”Junzi Group poached him.”

Upon hearing this, the entire venue fell silent, and expressions of shock appeared on many people’s faces.

No one had expected this matter to be so dramatic.

The person in charge of Honor of Kings was previously a small employee of Penguin Group!

And the Dota Mobile, which his former direct superior Zheng Haidi was later in charge of, actually lost to the Honor of Kings that this employee was in charge of.

For a moment, a lot of hushed whispers immediately arose in the venue.

Many people began to openly mock Penguin.

”A project that your Penguin Group fully developed was defeated by someone you almost fired.”

”And you still claim that Penguin Group values talent the most, but your vision was completely crushed by Junzi Group.”

Little Ma was also stunned after hearing this, and he remembered this matter in his mind.

But immediately, a gloomy expression began to creep onto his face.

He had never expected that the ’waste’ Zheng Haidi had spoken of back then was actually the current person in charge of Honor of Kings!

The next second, Little Ma coldly glanced at Zheng Haidi, the chilling aura in his eyes undisguised.

Meeting Little Ma’s gaze, Zheng Haidi instantly trembled, his face turning even paler.

If there was one person in the room most shocked by Zhou Qiang’s identity, that person was definitely himself.

He remembered very clearly that when Junzi Group came to poach people from his department, Zhou Qiang’s work had just made a mistake, and he had been scolding him for a long time.

After he returned to his office, just as he was considering whether or not to fire Zhou Qiang, Zhou Qiang actually ran to his office to submit his resignation, and even cursed at him a few times.

That had made him so angry that he couldn’t sleep for several days.

Afterward, to save face, he even told his other employees that he had actively fired Zhou Qiang, and that it wasn’t Zhou Qiang who resigned.

Although later, through the surveillance of the reception room, they confirmed that Junzi Group came to poach people, at that time, no one within Penguin Group took this matter seriously.

After all, this Zhou Qiang had only just been regularized not long ago, had not been in charge of any projects, and usually spent most of his time doing odd jobs, going wherever he was needed to help.

But who could have imagined that this Zhou Qiang, after being poached by Junzi Group, was actually going to be the head of the Honor of Kings department?

And the Honor of Kings that this person was in charge of, a few months later, completely overwhelmed the Dota Mobile.

Thinking of this, Zheng Haidi suddenly felt like he was going to vomit blood.

At that time, although he knew that Zhou Qiang had developed several game demos during college, and they were highly rated, he never would have thought that Zhou Qiang’s abilities in gaming were so exaggerated.

If he had known about Zhou Qiang’s abilities earlier, and if he had brought him into the Dota Mobile project, then what would Honor of Kings be now?

However, there are no ’ifs’.

At this moment, the laughter of many internet tycoons below the stage continued to ring out.

”Mr. Ma, I remember you poached several executives from my company back then, which made me furious. Now it’s your turn, isn’t it?”

”Interesting, Little Ma, you often say that if Penguin Group’s eye for talent is second in Yan Country, then no one dares to claim to be first. Now it seems that’s not the case.”

”Manager Zhou, your choice was very smart. You wouldn’t have had such good development if you stayed at Penguin.”

In addition to the taunts from these internet tycoons who were in competition with Penguin, the bullet comments in various live streams directly exploded.

All the viewers had not expected that the person in charge of Honor of Kings and Penguin still had such a complicated relationship!

”I’m dying of laughter, quickly look at Little Ma’s expression right now, his whole face is stiff.”

”Little Ma’s face is still okay, did you see that Penguin executive who said he almost fired Zhou Qiang? His face is even worse, I thought I saw a ghost.”

”It’s over, this person will definitely be harshly reprimanded by Little Ma when he goes back. What kind of vision is that?”

”But I have to say, Junzi Group’s vision is indeed too sharp; they were able to discover a hidden gem within Penguin Group.”

”This Zhou Qiang developed several game demos during college, and their quality was extremely high. I still remember he posted a Weibo at that time, celebrating that he finally entered Penguin Group, but he was not valued at all within Penguin Group and was almost fired.”

For a time, countless sarcastic comments about Penguin appeared in the live streams on various platforms.

Meanwhile, at the Internet Conference, seeing the rustling sounds below the stage, the host quickly spoke up.

”Everyone, please quiet down.”

”I know this matter is indeed surprising, but everyone can keep their voices down and discuss it later.”

After the venue quieted down, the host asked Little Ma, ”From Mr. Ma’s expression, you must also be hearing this information for the first time, right?”

Little Ma nodded reluctantly.

”Penguin Group has always prided itself on its sharp eye for talent. What was the reason for misjudging this time?”

Little Ma glanced at Zheng Haidi’s position.

”I can only say that the department head Zhou Qiang was in at the time was a waste, and he actually let such a talent go.”

”However, Mr. Wang, this matter was indeed a bit underhanded, to directly come to my Penguin Group to poach people.”

Hearing this, Wang Mo smiled.

”Penguin Group shouldn’t have the right to say that, right?”

”Who in the industry doesn’t know that Penguin Group has poached countless people from various companies through various means?”

”Can the companies below that have had people poached by Penguin Group raise their hands?”

Whoosh.

In an instant, the number of people who raised their hands almost exceeded half of the attendees in the venue.

Seeing this, Little Ma’s expression also became a bit unpleasant.
