You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

126: Section 126“Forget it. I’ve never played games before, and now I only play Honor of Kings. Other games, even if they offer skins, hold no appeal for me.”

Regardless, on the day of Combat Night, a large number of players did log into Dota Mobile.

Ultimately, the results for that day perfectly met Dota Mobile’s expectations.

From Penguin Group’s internal perspective, they were about to reclaim the position of highest daily active users for a mobile game in Yan Country.

While it might not break records, surpassing Honor of Kings was a certainty.

And time, after the Combat Night of the previous day, finally arrived at the second day.

The next day, at 9 AM.

Inside the Penguin Group, Dota Mobile department’s conference room.

“We did it!”

“Yesterday’s active player count directly reached 47 million!”

“We can finally announce that our Dota Mobile has returned to the top spot for most active users among mobile games in Yan Country!”

Looking at the newly compiled information, Ma Liuyun’s voice was filled with excitement.

“Although this number isn’t as high as the 50 million when it was first launched, under the current circumstances, it’s already quite good,” the young Ma at the head of the table nodded.

Everyone present was well aware of how hard-won this number was.

During the previous confrontation with Honor of Kings, the previous version of Dota Mobile faced continuous setbacks, and users kept leaving.

At its lowest point, Dota Mobile’s active users had even dropped to 20 million!

And most of these lost users became loyal players of Honor of Kings!

Furthermore, Dota Mobile’s core user base also abandoned the game due to the changes made to Dota Mobile.

Yet, in such an almost desperate situation, Dota Mobile was still able to achieve 47 million concurrent online users!

This kind of explosive growth in user numbers, a near-comeback from the brink, was enough to demonstrate Penguin Group’s capabilities.

Dota Mobile first underwent a comprehensive reform towards the direction of Honor of Kings, and then immediately launched the Combat Night event.

The two were indispensable for Dota Mobile to return to its most glorious stage.

Moreover, it’s important to know that Dota Mobile’s original core player base was likely only around one to two million, or two to three million.

One significant difference between these core players and ordinary players is that once core players commit to a game, it becomes very difficult for them to abandon it or switch to other games.

For example, when Honor of Kings became incredibly popular due to Wei Da Xian’s incident, Dota Mobile’s core players had no thoughts of switching games because what they liked were Dota’s various mechanics.

Similarly, once a core player group abandons a game, they almost never return to play it.

Therefore, the core players who abandoned Dota Mobile due to its reforms at that time would not return to play Dota Mobile just for two skins from the Combat Night.

In other words, after excluding this one to two million, or two to three million, core player group, 47 million players is almost the limit Dota Mobile can reach!

Compared to its peak of 50 million daily active users, Dota Mobile has only lost a few million core users!

Under the impact of Honor of Kings, Dota Mobile being able to return to this achievement is almost a miracle.

At the same time, in the room, “Alright, once the daily active users are confirmed, we can issue an announcement.”

“We can declare that our Dota Mobile has returned to being the number one mobile game in Yan Country for daily active users!”

The young Ma’s voice continued, his expression quite relaxed, as if he had already popped open the champagne.

Listening to his voice, someone in the room still couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t we waiting for Honor of Kings to announce their daily active user numbers? They haven’t disclosed them in a long time.”

Hearing this, almost everyone else in the room laughed.

Everyone was mocking this person for not yet understanding the facts.

And the young Ma’s voice chuckled, “Previously, Honor of Kings announced that they broke revenue records without waiting for us to announce our revenue information.”

“And this time, it’s our turn to announce that we are number one in daily active users without waiting for them to announce theirs.”

“They disdained us back then; now we return the favor.”

“If you can be so confident as to not put us in your eyes, we can likewise not put you in our eyes.”

As he spoke, the young Ma looked at the person who had spoken, his eyes filled with contempt for Honor of Kings.

“Do you really think that Honor of Kings, which only updated once and didn’t even launch any events, can compare its daily active user numbers with ours?”

“What’s more, 47 million is already the majority of the mobile game community in Yan Country.”

“I really can’t imagine what other means Honor of Kings has to compete with us!”

(PS: Honor of Kings’ hero regional rankings and social features will be written about soon.)

Chapter 89: Honor of Kings Reveals Daily Active Users, Shaking the Entire Network!

In the Penguin Group Mobile Game Department conference room, the young Ma’s voice was incredibly confident.

Listening to his words, the others also nodded, sharing the same thoughts as the young Ma.

“You have to know that the mobile game community in Yan Country only has 60 million users.”

“And the player bases of Honor of Kings and Dota Mobile will not overlap; players will only choose one.”

“After all, now the two games are almost identical, and players have no reason to keep both games simultaneously.”

“That is to say, the user group that logged into our dota mobile game yesterday basically would not have logged into Honor of Kings at the same time yesterday.”

Ma Liuyun’s voice also rang out.

His gaze also turned to the employee who had just spoken.

“We now have 47 million daily active users out of 60 million. How many do you think Honor of Kings can have left?”

“Even if…” Ma Liuyun paused.

“I’ll add another 10 million to it, assuming the number of mobile game users in Yan Country is 70 million. Then, excluding our 47 million, Honor of Kings would only have 20 to 30 million users.”
