You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

109: Section 109Under this Weibo post from Honor of Kings’ official Weibo, a large number of player comments quickly gathered.

However, compared to the never-before-heard-of War Order and treasure hunt,

the attention of most players was focused on the brand-new skins that Honor of Kings was about to release.

After all, the appeal of skins to players is the most exaggerated.

As for the War Order and treasure hunt,

never having heard of them, they naturally had no interest in these two things.

However,

just as countless players were anticipating the arrival of Honor of Kings’ public beta event,

elsewhere,

quite a few people were preparing to disrupt Honor of Kings’ event.

Normally, at this time,

Penguin Group was frantically updating and modifying the Dota Mobile internally, and should have had no time to deal with other things.

But because they couldn’t stand the continued development of Honor of Kings,

Boss Ma also specifically assigned a team to prepare to block Honor of Kings’ public beta event.

In their view, Honor of Kings’ public beta event had a very simple goal: Honor of Kings was preparing to increase its revenue.

For a mobile game,

the most important things, besides the number of users, are the monthly revenues.

It can even be said that

the importance of the latter far outweighs the former.

After all, the latter is key to whether the game can continue to operate.

When the Dota Mobile was first launched, they also held a public beta event, introducing various discounts and brand-new skins.

On that day, the revenue of the Dota Mobile reached a record-breaking 150 million.

This figure was already the highest record for mobile games in Yan Country!

At that time, after the Dota Mobile publicized this figure, it also received a lot of attention, and the number of users increased significantly.

And the previous mobile game in Yan Country that held the record also came from Penguin Group.

For an enterprise whose core business is games,

the record for the highest single-day revenue is almost their face.

Previously, the number of Honor of Kings users approaching the Dota Mobile had already caused Penguin Group’s position to be questioned.

If Honor of Kings also broke the highest single-day revenue created by Penguin Group,

then it’s likely they, Penguin Group, would truly have no face in the gaming industry.

Therefore,

when Penguin Group realized that Honor of Kings was preparing to launch a public beta event to increase revenue,

Boss Ma made a decision almost instantly.

They absolutely could not let Honor of Kings break the Dota Mobile’s highest single-day revenue record.

Therefore,

on the second day after Honor of Kings announced its public beta event,

the dota mobile game also released a message on various platforms, announcing that in a few days, a brand-new celebration event would be launched.

Celebrating that the number of registered users had exceeded 60 million.

Of course,

this was just a pretext.

The reason the Dota Mobile started the event was primarily for Honor of Kings.

So the timing of this event was on the same day as Honor of Kings’ public beta event.

And the intensity of the dota mobile game’s event was far greater than Honor of Kings’.

On the day of the event, all skins in the mall would be 30% off, and members could even purchase skins in the mall for only 50% off!

Moreover,

the Dota Mobile also did not restrict players from activating membership.

In other words,

Dota Mobile players can now activate membership first, and then wait to buy skins on the day of the event.

Although the information released by the Dota Mobile’s official Weibo was only this one sentence,

the impact of this one sentence directly ignited the entire gaming circle of Yan Country.

Everyone never expected that

the notoriously stingy Penguin Group could actually launch such an exaggerated event!

And for Penguin Group, they also knew that for a period after this event was launched, the revenue of the Dota Mobile would definitely drop very low, because most of those who wanted to buy skins would buy them on this day.

From a long-term perspective,

this kind of all-skin discount event would even be a loss.

But in order to maintain the title of the highest single-day revenue for a mobile game, Boss Ma would rather take a loss than forcefully launch this event.

He knew very well that

if Honor of Kings broke the Dota Mobile’s single-day revenue, then Honor of Kings’ reputation and popularity would become even more exaggerated.

More of the Dota Mobile users they had painstakingly managed to retain would definitely go and try Honor of Kings.

At the same time,

if Honor of Kings broke this record, it would also be equivalent to giving the outside world a signal that Penguin Group’s gaming domain was not actually strong.

Any one of these reasons

was something Boss Ma was unwilling to accept.

And after the Dota Mobile announced that it would launch a new crazy event,

this information was directly pushed to the top of the weibo hot search.

Countless Dota Mobile players were cheering!

”OMG, is this for real? Has Penguin Group transformed? How can they afford to discount all skins!”

”I remember the dota mobile game’s public beta event wasn’t even close to the intensity of this event.”

”They’ve gone crazy, crazy, the dota mobile game has gone crazy this time, I’ve already got my wallet ready.”

”Quick, quick, take my money, no, this isn’t my money, this is money Penguin Group put in my wallet in advance, I’ll return it to you right away!”

”I had already started playing Honor of Kings and uninstalled the Dota Mobile, but with this event out, why do I want to go back to the Dota Mobile? Half price for everything, this is too crazy!”

”Excuse me, are there any Honor of Kings experts? Can you carry me to Gold!”

The popularity of this Dota Mobile news even far exceeded the information released by Honor of Kings the day before.

After all, the Dota Mobile side was offering a real all-skin discount.

And the event announced by Honor of Kings only involved the release of a few new series of skins.

As for the War Order and treasure hunt,

these events, whose meaning no one knew, naturally failed to attract players’ attention.

After this information from the dota mobile game was released,

their daily active user count even increased significantly.

Originally, after the loss of users in the past few days,

the number of Dota Mobile users had already dropped to only 28 million.

But after this event was announced, the number of Dota Mobile users actually increased by another 5 million.

This was an unexpected surprise even for the Dota Mobile’s internal team.

Many players who had already uninstalled the Dota Mobile downloaded it again.

After all, the temptation of this event was simply too great for them.

One should know that

before, let alone in Yan Country, even globally, no game company had ever launched an event with all skins and ornaments at half price.

This shows how exaggerated the shock this event caused to players was.

For a time,

it even made many players forget that Honor of Kings would also launch a public beta event on the same day.
