104: Section 104“Three hundred million registered users, how could there be such a high retention rate?”

“That doesn’t make sense.”

As Manager Ma prepared to blame Ma Liuyun, Zheng Haidi, who was standing nearby, also stepped forward and said, “Manager Ma, this isn’t Ma Liuyun’s fault.”

“Although Dota Mobile’s daily active users dropped to three hundred million this week, we haven’t been too worried.”

Zheng Haidi paused.

“We previously thought that these Dota Mobile players basically only tried Honor of Kings because of Wei Da Xian’s matter.”

“They would return once they realized Honor of Kings wasn’t as fun as Dota Mobile.”

“Before, we’ve seen many software applications that became popular overnight and attracted a large number of users, but few of them were able to retain those users in the end.”

“So we thought that Honor of Kings wouldn’t have that capability either.”

Li Wenqiu, who was nearby, also spoke up, “Manager Ma was quite confident in his judgment.”

“Initially, he wasn’t worried about Dota Mobile’s user loss at all.”

“After all, in his opinion, these lost users would return to Dota Mobile’s embrace before long.”

“Honor of Kings’ daily active users wouldn’t increase too much.”

“But we didn’t expect…”

Li Wenqiu didn’t continue, but Manager Ma had already understood his meaning.

Li Wenqiu himself was also shocked by the numbers Manager Ma had just mentioned.

No one had expected that Honor of Kings’ daily active users had already increased to twenty-five million.

One must know that over the past week, Dota Mobile’s daily active users had already dropped to thirty million.

In other words, in terms of daily active users, Honor of Kings was not far behind Dota Mobile.

A difference of five million was almost negligible.

Although Wang Mo had already begun to tap into potential mobile game users, it had only been a few days.

Therefore, most of the new users for Honor of Kings did indeed come from Dota Mobile.

Listening to their words, Manager Ma also fell silent.

He knew very well that before seeing the daily active user numbers Honor of Kings had recently released, his thoughts were basically the same as theirs.

No one thought that Honor of Kings’ potential would threaten Dota Mobile.

However, the daily active data announced by Honor of Kings had directly shocked him as well.

Previously, after he and the others discussed the plan to block Honor of Kings’ promotion, he had temporarily left the mobile game department alone.

After that, Honor of Kings’ development was indeed within their expectations.

He hadn’t taken Wei Da Xian’s matter to heart before, only thinking that there might be some user loss in the short term, but it wouldn’t have much impact.

It wasn’t until he saw the number twenty-five million that he realized Honor of Kings was truly not as simple as they had imagined.

At this moment, seeing Ma Liuyun still flipping through the documents on the desk, Manager Ma slowly said, “No need to look.”

“I’ve already confirmed it.”

“This number is correct; Honor of Kings’ daily active users have indeed caught up with Dota Mobile after the Wei Da Xian incident.”

Upon hearing this, Ma Liuyun instantly looked up, his eyes still filled with disbelief.

“But why?”

“Honor of Kings had always been obscure, and its popularity wasn’t high.”

“How could it have directly caught up with Dota Mobile just because of Wei Da Xian’s matter?”

Ma Liuyun paused, then uttered something he was very reluctant to believe.

“Could it be that Honor of Kings is really more fun than Dota Mobile?”

Listening to Ma Liuyun’s words, Manager Ma suddenly thought of something.

He scanned the people in the room, then slowly asked, “Have any of you played Honor of Kings?”

Facing Manager Ma’s question, Ma Liuyun and Zheng Haidi exchanged glances.

Then both of them shook their heads.

“We were too careless; we never considered Honor of Kings an opponent to Dota Mobile.”

“So we never even tried the game.”

“Not just us, probably most of Dota Mobile’s employees are the same.”

Ma Liuyun’s voice rang out.

Seeing this, Manager Ma also fell silent, then slowly said, “Before today, my thoughts were the same as yours; I hadn’t tried this game either.”

“No one could believe that a game made in just over three months could actually catch up with Dota Mobile in terms of daily active users.”

“Games made in just a few months used to be synonymous with low-quality games.”

“But we didn’t expect that Wang Mo could actually create something that threatens Dota Mobile.”

Just as Manager Ma finished speaking, Li Wenqiu slowly raised his hand.

“Actually, I played a few rounds of Honor of Kings two days ago.”

Upon hearing this, everyone’s eyes turned to him.

“What do you think of the two games?”

“Honestly,” Manager Ma eagerly said.

Facing Manager Ma’s question, Li Wenqiu slowly took a deep breath.

“Compared to Dota Mobile, Honor of Kings indeed offers a better gaming experience.”

Upon hearing this,
