Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

144: Chapter 147 I’ll Scam You Without MercyWhen everyone heard Manager Johnson say this, they felt at ease.

What they didn’t know, however, was that in just one night, the situation would exceed their expectations.

The aunties of Wall Street had thousands of small chat groups. They didn’t lack money and were looking for investment projects; just then, this gold project arrived.

Dragon Country People have an innate trust in gold. Those with spare money at home took it out to buy gold; those without money called their sons to ask for it. The sons originally said investments were unreliable, but as soon as they heard it was gold, they wired money to their mothers.

Many even took out their life savings to buy gold, and so on the seventh day, the gold market went crazy.

The price of gold soared directly back to 476, but even at this price, the aunties didn’t hesitate; it was still cheaper than the gold they had bought two years ago.

Qi Fei originally didn’t understand why Lu Qingyu wanted him to leak the news to the wall street aunties, but after seeing the gold price, Qi Fei couldn’t help but applaud Lu Qingyu. This move was brilliant.

Mainly, he hadn’t expected these aunties to have such strong combat power, but Qi Fei had still underestimated them.

The people at Gao Shen Investment were stunned when they saw the data. What happened? How did gold rise so much overnight!

“Manager, what do we do?”

Seeing the situation, Johnson immediately called a meeting with the higher-ups.

After an investigation, they discovered it was actually because the wall street aunties heard the price of gold had dropped, so they went to buy jewelry.

After some discussion, everyone decided to continue dumping gold. They had planned this for over half a year; if they stopped now, they would lose out on too much profit, and no one was willing to accept that.

In the meeting room:

“I agree to continue increasing the investment. This situation is just an accident. Since those aunties have already bought their gold jewelry, it should be about over. We must overcome this immediate difficulty.”

“I also agree to continue. Those damn aunties should be finished by now.”

Following the resolution of the vote, Johnson dumped another 20 tons of gold onto the market.

The gold price fell from 476 back to 402.

Lu Qingyu couldn’t help but laugh out loud when he saw this price fluctuation. Gao Shen was really stubborn and quite bold.

Qi Fei was a bit worried seeing this trend: “Boss, Gao Shen is fully prepared. I’m afraid their conspiracy might succeed.”

Lu Qingyu shook his head in disagreement: “I wouldn’t be so sure.”

Qi Fei: “Does the Boss think that just relying on these individual gold purchases can consume the nearly 300 tons of gold Gao Shen dumped on the market?”

Lu Qingyu: “Don’t underestimate them. They are very rich, and there are a lot of them.”

Qi Fei didn’t really believe it. Pushing the gold price to 476 was already the limit for those aunties; how much more powerful could they be?

But the next day, Qi Fei was dumbfounded. The gold price rose to 501, even higher than yesterday.

The people at Gao Shen Investment were also stunned this morning. They were dazed when they saw the price. Where were the 20 tons of gold dumped into the market yesterday?

Gone in one night! Evaporated?

The market analyst said:

“Manager, those wall street aunties have swept clean every gold shop in the entire United States.”

Johnson: “What?”

“You’re not joking, are you?”

Analyst: “We’re not joking. They were even lining up at the gold shop doors before dawn.”

Johnson: “Fuck!”

The Chinese Aunties’ main strategy was: no matter how much you throw onto the market, we buy it all. They were experts at gold financial preservation.

Johnson panicked. They now had less than 15 tons of gold reserves left. Should they dump them in this situation?

Gao Shen and The Federal Reserve held an emergency meeting together. By the time everyone gathered in the meeting room, the gold price had already risen to 611.

Everyone had expressions of despair on their faces. There was no need to even hold a meeting to discuss it anymore. Their purchase price for nearly 300 tons of gold was 534, and the lowest price after dumping it all was 391, slightly lower than the price Lu Qingyu had bought in at.

Their goal had been to lower the gold price below 380, then buy back all the gold, and finally sell it after raising the price to over 700.

Now their plan had gone down the drain, and with every minute they hesitated, the price of gold was rising.

They had no choice; finally, Johnson and the others decided to buy back immediately, but their final transaction price was actually 621!

Johnson was so angry his head was steaming when he saw this result.

“How can this be? Wasn’t it under 600 just now?”

The operator: “That was ten minutes ago, Manager. It’s higher now.”

Johnson’s eyes were nearly bleeding from rage. Their Gao Shen had pooled 300 tons of gold and planned with The Federal Reserve for half a year, only to lose to a group of Dragon Country Aunties in the end!

Not only did they not make a penny, but the money lost was immeasurable.

On Tang Yin’s side, he confidently thought he could easily make billions from this investment again. When the gold price first fluctuated, Guo Yang was even more nervous than Tang Yin; he had taken out his life savings, wanting to make a fortune following Tang Yin.

As the gold price fluctuated, Tang Yin appeared more calm. He told Guo Yang this was Gao Shen’s strategy and that the price would drop again. Guo Yang was anxious for several hours and only settled down when he saw the gold price drop once more.

But who knew that in just one night, the gold price would skyrocket. When it broke past 600, Guo Yang frantically went to find Tang Yin:

“Chairman Tang, what was Gao Shen’s buy-back price?”

Tang Yin was now even more nervous than Guo Yang. He was currently inquiring with the people at Gao Shen. He had put in 2.8 billion himself, money he had diverted from off-plan housing projects. If he lost it, how would he fill the hole?

Tang Yin stared intently at the phone. He couldn’t hear what Guo Yang had just said to him at all until the phone rang and Tang Yin picked it up.

When the person on the other end stated the final bottom-fishing price, Tang Yin was stunned. He felt like he was having trouble breathing.

Guo Yang also heard the contents of the call, especially the numbers, and then cold sweat started pouring down him as well.

Instead of making money, he had lost over thirty million!

And Tang Yin had lost nearly five hundred million!

Crucially, in order to join this investment by Gao Shen, he had signed an unequal treaty with them: if there was a profit, he would give them thirty percent; if there was a loss, his principal would be paid to Gao Shen Investment as a service fee.

He knew this contract was unreasonable, but he was seduced by the huge potential profits at the time. If things had gone according to plan, he could have earned over 1.7 billion in a week.

He knew this investment by Gao Shen was in conjunction with The Federal Reserve, so he thought the plan was foolproof. Who would have known the plan would actually fail?
